    No matter what kind of the place is, whether modern islands slums, developed or under developed, as long as it is in the property of the Philippines, they are all to be called the Real Philippines.

    BGC, and all the several richer areas in the metro, is part of the real Philippines. However obvious the divide between rich and poor is, portraying BGC as unreal is unreal. It means business is thriving, catching up with the region economically, and even hoping to surpass them in a few years to finally remove the discrimination the people have long suffered.

    Some excellent advice to use BCG as a soft landing site for nubbies. The adjustment to the Philippines from the US can be a handful.
    I've always loved the Philippines, but realistically, it is a hell of a transition for those without extensive world travel.😊

    BGC IS LIKE ONE OF THE HIGH-END CORNER OF OUR COUNTRY, MOST CITIZENS CAN'T AFFORD TO LIVE THERE BECAUSE OF HOW PRICY THAT PLACE IS.

    Another great video of BGC--I'm really liking this city and looking forward to my 10 month exploratory trip in 2025. This city looks so walkable with those wide sidewalks. That Tempur-Pedic movie theater sounds fabulous--I've got to try that out when I get there. My plan is to live in BGC and just travel out from there to visit other islands for a week or two each time & eventually visit other nearby countries.

    Hi Jasper, it's been a while.
    Since I took TH-cam and all the apps off my phone, except for three. So I no longer getting notifications. Now I go to Google search to connect with TH-cam.
    I will be going back to a flip-phone and leave all the apps on my laptop. Which I hardly ever use. Keeping thing simple.
    Maybe I'll use my laptop more. Probably not. Because I AM not technically inclined. I know more of an analog system than this new technology.
    I AM even going back to using a citizens band radio and walkie-talkies. And no monthly fees. 💥💨👍🏼

      Technically. Rent electric food & toilet paper. But it won’t be glamorous

    • @JasperinthePhilippines
      @JasperinthePhilippines  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You’re cutting it close it would involve probably a lot of eating at home but yeah if you can find a condo for like $600 plus utilities, technically it is possible

    • @MikkosFree
      @MikkosFree 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on which part of the Philippines. In some areas, you could live like a king for $2k. In others, that's just enough. I live in the outer area of Metro Manila, and my rent is $105 for a studio unit. My monthly expenses, including rent and food, are around $900. If you are moving to the PH, you need to let go of your favorite brands and find local equivalents. The stuff you are used to will now carry import tax that will make it more expensive than it was in the US.

    • @JasperinthePhilippines
      @JasperinthePhilippines  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My bad I thought he was asking about Bgc yes if you live outside Bgc you can live really good probably on $1500

    • @JasperinthePhilippines
      @JasperinthePhilippines  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Incorrect. You don’t need to pay a year. Almost everyone lives in condos even larger ones. 5k. You’re living like a god. I live amazing on 3 ish

    BGC is a metaphor for progress. Don’t demonize it in comparison to other places or provinces. As you all know the Philippines is a diverse country where you can be anything. The choice is yours.

    • @JasperinthePhilippines
      @JasperinthePhilippines  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I live here not demonizing it at all. I think it’s a great example of an amazing corner of Manila. I think everyone’s taking it the wrong way.

    There are other BGCs popping up all over Metro Manila and each of them are slowly expanding. Sooner or later the old Taguig neighborhood will be gone as infrastructure improves and take over!

    BGC is not the typical Philippines...so what? I love it. I hope in the future more cities in the country would emulate or copy the BGC and im seeing it like Alabang, Nuvali, Eastwood, Greenfield and Iloilo City. BGC is clean, more organized and safe!

    I disagree, they are slowly redoing the cities to be like Makati & BGC. You already have upgraded areas like Eastwood, Pasig, Ortigas, Alabang, etc. More to come!

    umm you're in philippines the city is in philippines.. so what's fake about it.. and boracay is a popular tourist area world wide. The problem is that lots of foreigners get this misconception of PHILIPPINES we as a country specially the city thinks that we live in some undeveloped area and have this expectation prior arriving then they start to compare like its US or Europe no SIR we have own identity as for structures and developing our beloved country. I assure you that every where you go in every part of Philippines NO such thing as FAKE OR REAL we don't segregate our provinces or city we love our country as a whole. I love how this foreigners still brings there 2 cent thought talk smack and creating this bs narrative while staying and having the time of there life in the PHILIPPINES. How about getting some knowledge, history of the country itself instead of just posting just for the hell of having a content.

      Here is history if it was not for American Service men There would be no Philippines! It would be part of Japan! Many people do not want to hear it or give credit to the American service men who served and died in the Philippines. Here's History go to one of the many cemeteries that Americans are buried in there and thank them. Again If it was not for them there would be no Philippines.

    BGC is fake and only 10-15 years old. Fake people as well. I went to bgc yesterday and felt fakiness and wanna be rich people as i walk by. I met wealthy people at greenbelt when im sitting down and drinking my coffee all the time. The vibe in makati is way better. Id never move there tbh. Only thing i like there is the lamb and steak thats it 💯

      @JasperinthePhilippines yes sir 💯 the condos are nice but dawg that fakeness gets to me I will continue to visit though once in awhile. Other con is traffic from my part of Makati at least 40 mins-1 hour lol. If I take the old service road it's 35 mins.

    Saying BGC is the real Philippines is like saying Beverly Hills CA or Palm beach FL is the real America. Less than 1% percent of filipinos can afford to live there. That's the real Philippines? Yes it is a part of the Phils but it is less than 1% of what the Philippines really is. To me why move out of America to move to the closest city like America in the Philippines?. If you really want to see what the country of the Phillipines really is Get out of BGC and see how 99 % of filipinos really live.
