    LOL Negan, now that hes all reformed now, he talks about his past self like his past self would have given a shit about ANY of the people in that Satellite. They were his soldiers, nothing more. So him justifying his actions like it was justice instead of just malicious retribution is laughable.

      Whether he cared for the soldiers at the station or not is irrelevant. The ones who felt the loss cuz they had family and friends at the station is who he says he's doing it for and in the show it showed he does care for his people.

      He did care about his troops he just had a lot of them compared to what we’ve seen to our main group which is small and a family negan was pissed a lot of them died from Rick and he didn’t wanna go to war bc he will lose a lot of soldiers he built he didn’t care about the other groups he only took care of his own and his eyes made them stronger and kept shit locked down which unfolded when they thought he died

    The difference is clear. Rick's crew didn't attack and murder and enslave whomever they encountered to their own benefit. The Saviors did. In Rick's crew there was no class system, with workers supporting the higher-ups. At the Sanctuary, there was.

      People are being too dramatic about this shit "From Negan’s viewpoint, he did what he felt he had to." Yea, what he had to do in terms of maintaining power, attacking innocent people, and keeping his sex "servants." Doesn't make him justified in any way or equate him to ricks group. There are no "good" people but there are totally better and significantly worse. Then there's Negan who was downright a scumbag.

    People are kind of willfully ignoring the fact that Negan was made to look like a psychopath at the beginning so Rick's group could be the heroes once again. Slowly, the show reveals nothing is that cut and dry, which is something that should have been learned by now, but nobody wants to accept it. There are no good guys here.

      @@Zarken26 You were very eloquent. That was awesome. However, you left out a major detail: The Saviors attacked Rick's group first, so they had no choice but to respond. When Darryl and company were attacked in the road by the Saviors, they never heard of Negan and the Saviors. They were minding their own business going down the road. I'm a war Veteran that actually led men into battle. Battle Tactics are in my wheelhouse. I would have stealthily observed the Saviors compound for days so I can get accurate info as far as numbers, weaknesses, routines, etc. Then, and only then, I would launch my attack and wipe them out. I would kill the leader to make an example out of him. Yeah, the lines between Good and Evil can get a little blurry if society collapses, but certain behaviors and actions are still evil no matter what. Negan was an evil POS by the CHOICES he made that he didn't have to make. Attacking a group of people that are going down the road that haven't done anything to you is always an evil act regardless of whether society is up and running or not. If I had beaten Negan in single combat like Rick did, I would have killed him. He's evil, he killed my friends for absolutely no reason, and his group under his leadership had been terrorizing everyone around them. Yep, the only way to deal with an evil POS is the same as a rabid dog: You put it down.

    In everything in life and in war, there are two sides. From Negan’s viewpoint, he did what he felt he had to, and yes he was crushingly cruel in doing it. But the motivation for that lay in a few things. One, his people were attacked and killed WHILE IN THEIR SLEEP. At that point, The saviors had NO contact or real knowledge of Rick’s people. To Negan, it was unprovoked. His people are dead and he has to do SOMETHING. He sends men to deal with it, and they get killed. Some may have been his friends, who knows? But in his eyes, when he finally has the attackers caught, he’s going to want some revenge, and he has to show it to his people because THEY probably want it too. Negan was brutal in dealing with Ricks people, and so were the Saviors. But if you see it from THEIR viewpoint, it was justified. Rick went after the Saviors without knowing anything about them, their capabilities or numbers, or even their intentions. He was arrogant and reckless and stupid, and it cost Glenn and Abraham their lives. Negan had a lot of time in that cell to reflect, and I give him credit for being honest even if it was harsh- it would have been far better for him and the Saviors if he had killed them right there in that forest, all of them. The rest of Alexandria would have fallen right in line.

    Ok, I know Maggie is a little bit of a psycho now and her actions are barebly justified. But Negan trying to make sense of his sadistic nature and brutality in the past is something that can't be reasoned. The two of them are in the wrong here. Negan was a douchebag, sadistic, a psycho. While Maggie just can't move foward from the past when she saw her husband having his head smashed. She couldn't do what Rick tried to do. Not forgive him, but be better and move foward with life. Instead of doing that, she got through harsh events and is now colder, brutal, even willing to sacrifice that kid in that wagon (11x2).
    What Rick and his group did to Negan's was violent, animalistic, brutal. That's an undeniable fact, and Rick was almost like a dictator at some point. But another factor that is undeniable is that Negan was also cruel. Let's not forget that, before Rick, Negan made Hilltop and The Kingdom as "hostages", made them work for him afet proving that point. That point. Where he needs to prove that he's serious by smashing someone's head. He was cruel and faced cruelty from another group. It was a whole bloody cycle that was broken by Rick.

    • @dwight3555
      @dwight3555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of what Negan did is really cruelty or sadism, it would actually be more reasonable to consider it as pragmatism and even empathy. He tried to keep the largest number of people possible alive, which is why he put on such a show to intimidate others in the hope they would not retaliate so he wouldn't have to kill them. You never see him living "the rich life" despite all the resources he has, unlike Gregory the coward who took a big mansion for himself. Negan is not doing things for himself, he's doing them to keep as many people as he can alive, and he knows how to play his role to ensure that in a brutal world.

    Most people don’t understand the fact that NOBODY in this show is innocent IN THE SLIGHTEST so people saying “past Negan wouldn’t care about the people are the satellite outpost” is bs because if you really look at his chapter you can see that he had that cocky persona because he wanted to hide all his pain, anger, and grief. He did care about his people and that’s why he was so angry at Simon because Simon was to stupid to see he was screwing everything up and Negan new so that’s why he let Simon have a chance in a fight to make it fare but as he’s strangling Simon you can see the anger on his face because he didn’t want Simon to mess up everything. And another example is when Carl told Negan to kill him and Negan actually had to stop for a moment to make sure he heard him right and you can hear the hurt in his voice when he says “CARL! I thought we having a moment you little asshole” and you can see Negan was genuinely upset about Carls death and he even genuinely apologized to Rick about it and he apologized to Carl for making him cry after Carl removed his bandage from his eye or lack there of. Negan is not a monster because he killed Glenn. Negan is a monster because he mocked Glenn’s eyeball popping out when he was dying. Negan derived sadistic pleasure out of killing. People who compare Rick and Negan with “oh everybody killed” argument don’t realise this. Negan killed for game. Rick didn’t.

    Maggie is literally trying to justify everything when she is just saying because she wants to be in the right when there’s literally no right or wrong since they both tried to kill each other. Rick group killed negan group first not because Daryl Abraham and Sasha got attacked but because they needed supplies lol

    Negan acted like a psychopath because he learned how the new world worked, bikers tortured him and he couldn’t save his wife. He knew he needed to get everyone’s shit in line.

    What I don’t like is Maggie unwillingness to accept she’s a hypocrite. When they attacked the satellite station, they weren’t acting out of self defence! They were the murderers, plain and simple. They killed people who had families just like they accuse negan of doing but they are only concerned when they’re stupid actions comes back to bite them!

    Half of what he says here makes no sense. He’s talking in circles around her as a way to evade responsibility.

    Negan was absolutely the villain, not because he bludgeoned Abraham and Glenn to death, BUT BECAUSE HE WAS FORCING EVERYBODY TO PAY 50% TAXES! AND WHEN THE PEOPLE MADE HIM MAD, HE TOOK 90% AND EVERYBODY'S GUNS AWAY! HE WAS A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT NOBODY ASKED FOR! HE'S LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. 😏

    Nega is a clear social path, he sees all the right in his action and justifes all his crime, but doesn't have the empty a normal human being has for murdering so many and admitting his wrongs.
