-------------- Places visited on this tour:
The city is famous for its vibrant core, amazing architecture, rich culture and is known as the "Pink City".
The origin of this pink color dates back to 1876, when the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, visited the city. To welcome him, the ruler at the time, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II, ordered the entire city to be painted a soft pink color, in order to give an appearance of welcome and hospitality.
    Amber Fort
It is one of the most impressive and majestic forts in India, with a breathtaking view of the city and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amber Fort is situated in the hills about 11 km from Jaipur, it was built with pale yellow and pink sandstone and white marble in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I and is considered one of the most magnificent examples of Rajasthani architecture, blending the styles Hindu and Mughal.
Hawa Mahal, which means "Palace of Winds"
The Hawa Mahal is a five-story structure, built in pink sandstone, with a latticework facade with more than 900 windows (Jharokhas) adorned with intricate geometric and floral designs.
The main function of the Hawa Mahal was to allow royal women to view processions and other public events without being seen by spectators outside.
Windows designed into the palace allow for effective cross-ventilation, making the interior feel cool and airy even during the hottest summer days.
    Bapu Bazar
Upon entering the Bapu Bazar market, we are immersed in a world of colors, smells and sounds.
There are shops everywhere, selling everything from printed fabrics to gold and silver pieces. It's a perfect place to shop and find unique gifts for friends and family. One of the reasons why people love Bapu Bazar is because of the affordable prices.
In this market we find the typical Jaipur sandals known as "Jaipuri jutti". They are traditional leather shoes with a pointed toe and are often decorated with intricate embroidery, beads, sequins and mirrors.
    Jaipur City Palace
Another one of the wonderful constructions of India.
This palace was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a great patron of arts and culture and was the residence of the rulers of Jaipur.
The palace is still home to the last ruling royal family who live in a private section of the palace.
The palace houses a museum that has an impressive collection of royal artefacts, including weapons, armour, carpets and paintings.
    Jantar Mantar
It is an ancient astronomical observatory that was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an incredible attraction for anyone interested in astronomy and the history of science.
He designed this observatory to help with his astronomical research and to create accurate calendars for agriculture and navigation.
It includes the world's largest sundial known as the Samrat Yantra. This sundial is 27 meters high and is used to measure time with astounding accuracy, with an error of just two seconds.
Fabric printing and carpet weaving cooperative
Cradle of the art of printing, India has mastered the dyeing technique since antiquity, exporting not only fabrics but also dyeing techniques.
Indian fabrics dazzle with the intensity of colors, to the point that many ask how they manage to be so colorful.
The artist is born into a caste where the grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather cultivate this living cultural heritage, exercising the activity without the slightest effort.
The stamping process is with block printing, a technique of printing drawings using blocks similar to stamps, made of hand-carved teak wood, like a woodcut. The fabric is stretched out on a table and the artisans stamp the designs with ink-soaked pads, with precision so as not to notice where one stamp ends and another begins.
    Jewelry Factory
The world's largest consumer of gold, India has a true adoration for jewelry. In Jaipur this is even more evident, as the city is the largest center for cutting and polishing precious stones and jewelry design.
India, the land of kings and royalty, may well be the only country in the world whose people, since ancient times, have invested so much in gemstones and jewelry. About 300 years ago, in 1700, when Sawai Jai Singh, founded the city of Jaipur and made it the capital of Rajasthan, he invited artisans and jewelers from across the country to settle in Jaipur.

Obrigado.
