My mom loved chicken livers and I thought how gross for 40 years. Then I worked in the Middle East and they had chicken liver sandwiches. A friend thought it would be nice to bring us lunch one day and she chose those sandwiches. I thought, this lady is being so sweet I have to try this sandwich. Can’t hurt her feelings. O M G that sandwich was delicious. I bought several of those during the time I worked there. So I will try this dirty rice with chicken livers. Thanks for your recipes and teaching us so many great recipes. I ain’t scared!❤❤

I would love that dirty rice just like you made it. I can't make it because my husband will not eat rice, not even if he was at a state dinner at the White House. I also love fried chicken livers but I can't stand the sight of them cooking. I have to get them at a restaurant. My Mama used to cook them for me but gosh they look awful while they're cooking.
Good grief Talli Faye! When I saw that phone going on a good flip, I thought to myself, "Oh Lord, we're about to get a up close & personal view of that rice!" I'm so glad it didn't land in that pot. Anyway, I have to agree w/ you about including the livers, bc they do bring a unique & necessary flavor to this dish. I'm, by no means, a conisueer of liver, but after living in La for 40+ yrs, I learned to find a workable method by which to incorporate that organ meat; I cut it into tiny pieces. I've also played w/ diff themes, such as using roasted pecans & goldens raisins, or roll w/ lots of bell & jalapeno peppers, or hit it w/onions & water chestnuts for a crunchy texture. Another point I might share is we use a LOT more fat; i.e., oil & butter. Your version is probably more healthy. Sorry so long, but wanted to thank you for sharing your recipe thru your gymnastic phone. Love you! God bless.

Hey Talli Faye Wish I was your neighbor so I could eat with you. I love love love chicken livers. Fried sautéed any way. Livers are a must in dirty rice. I’m 84 and live alone so don’t cook as much as before but still do a lot. I cook my livers in the air fryer and it’s like friend but no grease.i use Kentucky Cclonel seasoned flour mix. You may not get it where you are. I’m in NC about 30 miles from where it’s made. Love everyone of your videos. Makes my day.❤

Love the chicken livers in there! The venison sausage would have to be replaced with regular sausage or hamburger meat...lol...you could cut up gizzards to put in there in small pieces and just cut that tough membrane out in the middle. In South Carolina, fried gizzards and livers is a meal around here. A pound of each is dinner for one person with some sides....lol...❤❤

I’m 81, and about 30 years ago, I started taking lots of vitamins and no medications. When my legs are tired, I take extra calcium magnesium and vitamin E. Remember to prop you feet up at the end and of the day.

This sounds good, but I wouldn't use "deer" sausage. Maybe some andouille or mild chorizo, with the chicken livers. I'd definitely cut the liver into smaller pieces, too, so the taste gets spread around a bit more and I don't get any big mouthful o' liver. But I definitely want to try making something like this, though. Cool beans, too! (I mean that literally, about your Jackson (I think you said) beans. Interesting and yummy-looking.)
Looks delicious. I have to admit, when my momZ made anything with live, it always smells delicious but I didn't enjoy the texture. Having being diagnosed with anemia -- and the pills make me sick, I've been giving liver a second look. Thanks for another great recipe.

DearestFriend , I’m worried about you ❤❤. Please have your blood sugar tested🙏🙏. The first sign of Diabetes is THIRST, TIREDNESS and LEG WEAKNESSES, PAIN OR SORENESS. MY DAD,that just passed away had Type 2 diabetes over 45yrs. He passed at 96yrs. He dealt with pain(neuropathy) and weakness in his legs until put on insulin. Of course as he aged it became worse but your young. Don’t ignore this please, see your Doctor My💕🙏🙏 your KeyLime Friend 🙏🙏
