seriously, she puts herself between her child and an unimaginable horror without a second thought. the entire first movie is about their anxiety as parents trying to give their children a hope to live. best apocalypse parent ever.

Little note about the women's shoes in the beginning. I think practically people would have removed their high heels and such to make it easier to run away. They all happen to be women's shoes because women's foot wear is...let's say impractical at best.
I agree, I thought that was one of the main reasons too, also high heels are such a noisy shoe compared to sneakers or flats
26:37 Actually, they didn't. The boat was the one that was left unmoored at the docks. When the scene of them being unable to swim happened the two were on the unmoored boat and it simply drifted with the tide towards the island.

I remember seeing the first movie in theaters. Everyone was quiet throughout pretty much the whole movie, which made the scares that much worse. I liked this movie too, not as much as the first but it was still good.
I watched the first one yesterday and just finished the second. I'm sad I missed the opportunity to sit, surrounded by a hundred silent, tense audience members.
Side note, my mom said she was getting a headache from being so tense and tapped out of the sequel (at the train scene)

She’s def strong but she did make a sound when giving birth. It was during the fireworks thought so she was allowed to scream because there was a louder sound in the same way Lee and his son hooted at the waterfall because it was a louder sound.
Random tidbit: the first film was almost part of the Cloverfield Universe. The whole expansion of that universe seems to be based around JJ Abrams or whoever is in charge finding interesting Sci-Fi scripts and sticking in flimsy connections to the other films. I dread to think how this may have gone if the people who made The Cloverfield Paradox were in charge.
This was the first movie I saw in the cinema since early 2020 and it was a great movie to come back to (I hadn't actually seen the first one when I booked the tickets. I wanted to see a movie for my birthday, and It was just the one I was most interested in. I watched the first film the night before seeing it so it was fresh in my mind.
These movies are fantastic. The filmmaking techniques, the performances, the way they blend heart and horror so organically. The ending scene genuinely got me a little emotional and I didn't expect it to. Can't wait to see where the storyline goes next.

Chekov's gun - a dramatic principle that states that every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed. If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired. In the first movie we saw the nail sticking up through the stair and knew that would come into play.

i have both movies, and edited them in a way that u get the intro from the second one, then the whole first one, then the rest of the second one. it makes for an amazing watch.

John Krasinski DID work on the writing/screen play along with another guy.

John Krasinski didn't "write" a quiet place per se. It was pitched to him and he was reluctant at first since he doesn't do horror. but after hearing the plot, he felt he had to take it and helped adapt the script.
He did write it, it's just not his story. He rewrote the screenplay & was given a writer's credit for making sufficient changes.
I was sceptical about part 2, but it was as good and tense as first one. Really did not expected that.

It was reported earlier this week that the guy tasked with doing the spinoff left the project.

a trailer for the third movie was released recently and I recommend y’all watch it. Apparently the third movie’s gonna be about the meteors in the sky at the beginning of the second quiet place film

I've been seeing this movie requested a couple of times in your channel so I wanted to see what the hype was all about and holy hell was it intense and thrilling. I don't get why it is this underapreciated. I would definitely recommend this movie 100%.

Quick refresher for the first movie; Micky noticed the newspaper clippings in Part I talking about Shanghai, Mexico, Tokyo, New York etc. being attacked by these aliens who hunt by sound. So it's not just this small town.

I read someone's theory that this monsters were made by other aliens, who as smart as humans or even smarter, and they made this monsters so they will "clean" Earth from humanity for the smart aliens

Realistically, if they were able to hear small sounds from such great distances, they'd DEFINITELY be able to hear your heartbeat and your breathing up close.
But it's a movie, so we just have to accept that things won't always be perfectly realistic.

Only problem with this sequel is it’s meant to be minutes after the first film, but Noah Jupe playing the son had grown about a foot and a half between the filming of part one and two which requires a bit of a suspension of disbelief
