This is an awesome video series. I am still using Excel 2016. I use Excel for personal purposes as in tracking my accounts (checking, savings, credit cards, ect.) I have not found a personal home budget which suit my needs and what I want to do and how it is displayed. So, I attempt to learn what I need from awesome videos like yours. Thank you for posting.
In this video on the data sheet to record the input info, the "ID" and the "Name" are not stored in their respective columns. You have the name under the "Id" column and the Id under the "Name column.

I'm thinking that you have one of the biggest brains in the world!! These tutorials are amazing. Thank you!
I know that you prefer whiting out the page to hide the contents, but custom format with ;;; hides the contents with no color (so even if you change the colors, etc. it will be hidden).
I'm sure that you could add extra value for more personalized, premium commentary.

I'm glad you went over the Offset detail. I spent days building an advanced form with a different tutorial and I believe the Offset values (for which that teacher chose the value as "-1") is one of the problems with that code. After this tutorial with you I understood enough of all the components and what they're intended to do in order to create a more dynamic and functional form (with 46 fields) that works like it's suppose to. Well done - and thank you for the taking the time.

I set the form to" = blank" intuitively after a successful data entry before the end of the video 🤓 Thank you so much for the logic behind this tutorial !!!! You're the Excel king for sure!!!!

I am so enjoying your tutorials!!! They are clear, precise, easy to follow and the best I have come across so far! However, I have one very minor issue with this one. I am not VBA savvy, and I could not figure out why you had two Modules and I could only see one. What I forgot from the 1st video on creating VBA was to right click on the sheet, and insert a module. It was not until the very end that I remembered. Other than that, really great tutorials! 🙂

I think that the Premium Helper program is a great idea as it sounds like it will expand upon information that we have learned in the last 5 videos for this project and we will be able to learn about how other projects are handled. I am looking forward to joining you on those.

Question - can this form be saved in a MS Teams file location and be used collaboratively? I am looking for an effective way to capture manufacturing shop floor data from multiple areas in a consistent format, and move away from current method of folks filling out paper forms, scanning them in, and not having any way to search for that data. No OCR scanners here, and unfortunately people forget to scan papers in all the time anyways.
So far, I've confirmed that I can open the Excel file from a MS Teams file location, hit the submit button, and the data is there. However, it seems to start having issues or act funky when I have another person open the file simultaneously and try to enter data. We are opening it from the Excel app, not the Teams Excel viewer.
Thanks for these videos, they've been extremely helpful in getting me a working form. Really appreciate it! Liked and subscribed.

Your tutorial videos are very helpful. I watched almost all of them. For now I'm just interested the part saving data from the Form to another sheet by hitting the save button. Simple saving data only, no other conditional formatting like in your previous videos. Do you have a video for it? Because in this videos it also covers a bit of lesson from previous videos. I hope you could help me. Thanks and more power.

Hi! First thank you for this tutorial. I have a quetion. Is it posible to have a form in one worksheet and data in another one. I want to send this form to my colleages and I want a data to be populated as they submit the form. Data workbook would be on my computer.
in short, 2 workbooks, one with form, another one with data, but conncted.

Have you already found an answer? I want to do something similar. Both workbooks can be in the same folder. But people will be accessing one while I need to be able to view the data in the other. Both workbooks will be on a central server location.

I basicly want to have one workbook with form (for everybody to acceess, from any computer) and a second one with data which would be populated automaticly (for me alone - on cloud).

Hi, everything worked for me until now. When I linked the store data macro with the validation form, it didn't work when I clicked on submit. An error message referred me back to the store date macro. What shall I do?

    • @saraknowles7827

I'm getting the same thing. The error reads: "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method." When I click Debug, the first line of data transfer code is highlighted, which for my specific worksheet is:
      dataSheet.Cells(nextRow, 1).Value = sourceSheet("F4").Value
I’m going to run through a few other tutorials and check some forums, I’ll let you know if I find a solution (unless TeachExcel happens to respond before I figure it out.)

Sheet "Data" in columns A and B reversed

    • @TeachExcel
      @TeachExcel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks! I JUST noticed that yesterday when making the next ones haha. Its a quick-fix in the code and I will address it early-on in the next video. In case you don't want to wait, where the data is placed into the Data sheet in the macro, the column order goes from 2 to 1 to 3 and you just need to switch the 2 and the 1. If that's confusing, the next video clears it up.

@@TeachExcel Did you ever play with Clarisworks. Mac. I used to make forms in Clarisworks. It had a spreadsheet component. And you could merge it into the word processor too.
Recently I've been playing with Google forms.
I'm going to have a go at this too.
Covid has prevented me from passing out paper quizzes.
