Thanks. Nice example. One small trick I use.. for the input cells, if you add an upper and left cell border that is say 2 grades darker than your grey background and use a line style of the thickest or next to thickest option possible, then your fields will have that "sunken" look of a data entry field vs. just the flat look of a cell. It makes users comfortable and familiar with the input area, as it matches that of a dialog box or typical sunken input fields that they encounter in other software. Hope someone finds this useful. Thanks for the videos, tips, techniques and code examples. Thumbs up!! PS - You can use the same technique to the right and bottom of the entire greyed out range to make it look raised up which some find appealing :))

That is an very nice and easy-to-use trick! You are so very right about small formatting changes making it easier for people to follow. I love it when something simple finally pops up in Excel haha! Thanks for sharing the tip Wayne! :)

All are very good..but after entering the information, pressing the enter button on the keyboard and running the macro yourself would be better.

    Hi
I want to understand how to I make a form in Excel that can be sent to users as a link for data collection. Due to data security I can't use Microsoft or Google forms

  • @bjhogans

Nice, but why did TeachExcel not show how the MACRO was recorded? I have an alergic reaction to VBA and simply showing how the Macro is recorded would explain how the table is populated when you press SAVE.

Do you have this same example but instead of the inputs going into cells on another sheet, the inputs go into a table. I did this but I can't get the values into a table.

Go to the "Data" sheet and click anywhere in the data. Then click insert table.
