tarana-Welcoming the rains

This tarana brings in the happiness and gaiety to the dancing peacocks who look towards the heavens begging for more and more rain. The patient vigil is at last rewarded. Esho Shyamala Sundara. The rains arrive quenching our thirst with a deluge of joy. The harmonious blending of the Tarana which lends structure to pure dance movements is further embellished with representational images of monsoon in adding to the beauty of the composition. It culminates in a crescendo where the dancing Peacocks look towards the heavens begging for more and more. Shyamala Sundara is performed by Srirupa, Debashmita, Ananya, Urmi and Ankita, the junior members of Samskritiki Sheryaskar.
