A Chaturang comprises the four pillars of Hindustani classical music Sahitya, Sargam, Tarana and Trivatt. This particular Chaturang describes the love dalliance between Krishna and the sakhis as they dance with abandon in the groves of Vrindavan the Raas Nritya. The concise lyrics are elaborated upon through various rhythmic and musical embellishments. The composition makes full use of the Kathak form with its complexity of chanda and beauty of anga.
The composition is set to Raga Mala and Taal Mala: Raga Yemen and Jhaptaal of 10 beats, Raga Hamir and Teentaal of 16 beats, Raga Kedar and Dhamar of 14 beats, and Raga Bilawal and Ektaal of 12 beats.
