All firms must have process for flexible work arrangement requests from December

  • All companies in Singapore -- including small and medium businesses -- must have a clear process for flexible work arrangement requests from this December. This is the latest move by the tripartite workgroup consisting of government, unions and employer groups. Upon receiving requests, employers must give a written decision within two months. If the request is rejected, a relevant reason must be given. While the guidelines are mandatory, employers will not face legal action if they reject an employee's request.

      Its true Gan Siow Huang is voted by the people. Those who lost Sengkang GRC also can be NTUC chief. Regardless of whether the people voted or not is no longer an issue. It is who they liked to sit on the chair.
      Gan Siow Huang is from SAF & use the PAP brand name to be voted in. She just says it to please the public & current government without thinking. She is a loyal follower without brains.
      There is no intention to help workers. If she got an intention she should make it mandatory for pte & public sectors to adopt 16 days annual leave & 4 days elderly leave. MOM keeps extending the retirement age to 68 yrs old. Its aging population but leave is not added.
      Gan SH, NTUC Chief & MOM minister Tan SL are just giving coffee shop talk. The current lot of PAP ministers are just followers. Implement policy without thinking such as traffic offences are fined $150 while forget to bring bowls & utensils back are fined $300. Complete joke. Speechless to comment.

    How about those working at construction site? Different ‘forms’ of workstyle or still the same? Seems pointless. Better look into the minimum salary requirement for PR & SC. Up till date there is no minimum salary for PR/SC, only required for WP, SP, EP. So is it ok for PR & SC salary lower than work pass holders?

      Must have a process to for flexible work arrangement request. A process, not must give everyone FWA.

    • @HenryHoe
      @HenryHoe 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Those construction workers of course can't WFH. But generally these are fw working such jobs not Singaporeans. But the supervisors and specialists don't necessary need to work at the construction site everyday. Because they also have paperwork to handle, meetings to attend.
      I think this is a first step, later they can push for jobs that can be eligible for WFH to be made into fwa. The full time caretaker then has more reason to rejoin the workforce, while blue-collar workers who cannot WFH, salary will rise even more because more workers would prefer to have jobs with fwa, meaning harder for employers to hire such workers. If blue collar jobs salary go up, I think it will then again benefit white collar jobs in the exec to mid manager level as if those jobs are too stressful or not valued right, those workers would rather switch to working blue collar jobs.
