Back in the day my father was a driving instructor. He got to know the examiners. According to him part of the bike test was an emergency stop, which involved the examiner jumping out infront of the bike of the person on test. On one day the examiner jumped out in front of the bike to initiate an emergency stop. Only problem was, it was the wrong bike and he spent 3 weeks in hospital. I don't know if it's a true story but as a 9 year old I found it hilarious
Yep ride round the block, emergency stop, Passed. Well different now it's all about getting as much money as possable from everyone. Turned up for my part 1 in 89 on my RD350YPVS and hire a cg125 off them. Ahh the days when no one gave a F. Now everyone is just a bunch of wet wipes. A kid I know is in the GBoR for passing both car and bike test within hours of his 17 Bday, shout-out to Ferb.
Similar story on our test route, except this examiner jumped out in front of the correct bike, but Jimmy (a lad I knew) was so startled he forgot to brake. Similar result, lol
Good job. My test in the 80s on a 250 was so easy. No lessons, just turn up and do it after reading up on what's required. I got a GSX750 the next week. No potholes and no speed cameras. It was a different world.
Passed my mod 1 and mod 2 today for full A license, he’s not wrong, riding a bigger bike genuinely is easier than riding a 50/125. Really enjoying your journey and will continue to watch until you pass and beyond. You got this 💪
Well done Andy. All part of the journey and you stayed cool and did it. Great to see Clare there for you all the way keeping the one liners flowing and your spirits up.
At 67 bought my first bike, a 125 ktm. After a few months I realised it's limitations on longer journeys so took my A licence. Soon bought a 790 ktm and surprisingly the insurance was exactly the same. Nice channel, keep it up
Well done!! 👍 I'm loving watching your progress. My husband persuaded me to do my CBT with him a few months ago at the age of 57. Its surprisingly addictive, I'm wanting to go out on the bike every chance i get. Very nervous but looking forward to doing my mod1&2 in the new year. Good luck with the mod 2 🤞
I to had a midlife crisis at 40 and did CBT, mod 1 and 2 Have had 650 Bandit, Gsxr, Honda 600RR and now a Triump Tiger XC. The Tiger is the best bike I've had for commuting, Sunday ride, camping. Mine has the Panniers and is in black not blue. The Tiger is very functional it's got me back into enjoying riding again. I'm now 54 and won't change from Adventure bikes. Good luck.
This is my second ‘comment’ and I have to say that I really, really enjoy watching your posts! What I like is the fact that you are two lovely down to earth people sharing an experience with all of us, so unassuming and very good at describing the ‘journey’ I know you will continue enjoying riding motorcycles (as all of us bikers do lol) thank you for sharing this and please ride safe for years to come👍
Enjoy the channel, great to have supportive spouse. Once you can justify the second bike the rest are easy. Take a look at the triumph tiger 660 when shopping for a next one, great bike for older knees and taking a passenger
Well done mate! I done my test last year and it was the best thing I've ever done, wish I had done it 10 years earlier! I did have a wee bit more extensive mod 2 training though, over a few weeks I done a few hours every other day up until my test, really gave me the confidence on the bike. Looks like you don't need that though, good luck man! only advice I could give is keep as calm and relax, they want you to pass!
They dont half make you jump through hoops to get your full licence, back in the days of yore you done a left hand circuit of the block, then a right hand circuit and at some point the examiner would step out and put his hand up for an emergency stop. Had to stop and then drive up to him. Can you read that number plate son? Then a few questions on the highway code, done. So easy. 39 year later still havent killed myself😂
I share the same thoughts. I was going to take mine when i was 25 but raising a family made it difficult to get any free time to do anything. So fast forward 15yrs i started from CBT and the module training (also had to do the theory in between that) For someone who has 20yrs worth of driving experience in cars that theory was a bugger, failed the first by a big margin then missed the appointment for the second only to pass the third time by the skin of my teeth. So i book a MOD1 test which was 7 weeks away, have a few lessons in between. Failed on figure eight by putting foot down by a gnats nacker, they said if i'd put more power in it would of saved it. I'm struggling to put my feet down when stopping without pain. on U turn i put foot down. Asked if i want to carry on even though i'd failed but i just state i'm in too much pain and finish. How i managed the ride there and back i'll never know. The whole experience was a nightmare for me. Being able to get the time off work, paying for bike hire numerous times, waiting for lessons to become available plus test dates. Great watch! Just done my CBT last week and just passed the theory test yesterday. DAS/A all booked in and start not this week but next! Well done on passing MOD 1 ☺️
Really good down to earth and relatable explanation of the experience. I did all this three years ago at 54, I think the examiners all do the slow walk thing. After my mod 2 the chap doing my test told me to wait in the office while he spent a few long minutes having a chat to someone else before finally telling me the good news. Mod 2 is easier, just don't follow cars to close - particularly if the road is wet and remember shoulder checks.
blows my mind how close cars drive to each other. as the old adage goes, 'only a fool breaks the two second rule' - especially something to follow riding bikes.
Nice one Andy congrats 👍I failed Mod1 1st time round figure 8 did for me with foot down, but I blamed the weather it was hissing down and blowing a hooligan 😠
i had some work to do over the weekend and managed just now to watch your video. the tests are verry different from what we do in Romania. weird that we all can drive on the same roads :D Your teacher there seems to be a verry cool guy Congrats on your Mod1. Good Luck on your Mod2.
Hi Guys, I'm really looking forward to seeing how you and Dave's relationship and epic story builds, so funny 🤣🤣. I noticed you were wearing a Triumph T shirt on your other channel today, this has resulted in me having to confess to you both that I have ordered a new 2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800 over the weekend, this is the confirmation you need that proves you are both officially TH-cam influencers. I messaged you a while ago telling how you are reigniting my interest in motorcycles! Keep wearing that T shirt and I'm sure Triumph will start sponsoring you.
😂😂 me too, I hope it’s a good one. Claire bought me the Triumph T shirt for my birthday. I love it. I also love the Tigers. Everybody that I know that’s been on one rates them. I’m looking round myself and not sure which way to go. When do you get it?
@@bikerofatlantis I'm collecting the bike sometime in March when it's built, can't wait. I need to look at a new helmet at the NEC on Wednesday, the Shoei Neotec 3 takes my fancy. I think a sports tourer would suit you as you are tall. My race bike days have gone, need a bit of comfort at 62 😄 Alternatively the Honda Hornet SP 1000 is an upright comfortable bike, don't be put off by the power, just means you don't change gear as much. Honda and Triumph quality is outstanding.
Passed my cbt same time as you. Bought a bike like 3 months ago and go out like once on the weekend, harder now it's cold and crap out. Booked my das for Feb the 2 to the 5th(i think) starting off mod 1 training and the test end of the week. Abit of anxiety about it but telling myself It will be fine relax until then and listen to my instructor when it comes to it bigger bike is abit scary and being in a city(I'm pretty rural in Porthmadog) and how this breakdown of what to expect helps ease my nerves thank you.
Hi. Take it steady, remember your training and it will be great. Best of luck and let me know how you get on 👍👍 We loved our trip to Portmadoch in the summer. You are lucky to live somewhere so nice
What a great channel. I watch quite a lot of motorcycle orientated ones, and yours is pretty unique. I love the little debrief with Claire and the banter between you. Congratulations on the pass Andy, I'm looking forward to your next installment.
Congrats. Well done. So satisfying. I did mine back in September. Thought I aced it. But had 4 minors on life savers. Passed but knocked the puff out of me. Mod 2 is ok but the guy before me failed which set the butterfly's off. I passed and I really enjoyed the whole process. Good luck and enjoy the training. If u like the style of bike u have check out the honda rebel. I got myself a shiny z650rs and I love it.
Well done pal, thanks for sharing your experiences. Looking to get my full licence next spring, finally scratching a 25 year itch (in my 40s now) so it's great to follow along and see what I'm letting myself in for. Cheers, stay safe 👍
Congratulations mate you've done the hardest bit by far. Mod 2 will be a doddle for you. I did the same as you on my mod 1 with the swerve. Too slow on my first run. However when on my second run, as I came out of my turn ready for the fast run I realised I was in 3rd gear but I was riding a Yam MT07 and the torque on that bike saved me thank god. 3 years and 4 big bikes later I've just bought an MT07 as I developed an affection for it and I love it! Looking forward to seeing you pass your Mod 2!!
Congratulations on passing your Mod1 and best of luck on your next test. I was planning on going to the NEC for the bike show this weekend and then during the week I rolled my foot on uneven ground and now I am in pain when I walk, waiting for the swelling and bruising to go down
Well done that man! You'll be fully fledged by end of the month. You've done well as you've put yourself under extra pressure by vlogging this journey to a full licence. Kudos and good luck for your mod 2.
Hi Andy, I was 36 when I passed my test (also at Rotherham...both DVSA Examiners there are spot on blokes!) and my first bike was a 1200cc "tourer", and the insurance was around £450quid/year. My current 1250cc bike is a around the same price now I'm 41. I did look at smaller bikes, but the one I got first was basically a deal I couldn't say no to 😀 Good luck on Mod2! I'm sure you'll ace that bit as you already have the road-sense.
Congratulations Andrew, well done. Now on to the mod 2, I think it’s the easier of the tests, so good luck with it. Looking forward to the next video 👍
Congratulations Andy Glad to hear you passed your mod 1 i passed my mod 2 on the 13th using the same bike school they are really good really lovely people been watching your journey from the start mod 2 is much easier when you go do your mod 2 try not to think about the examiner ride like he is not even there and that you are out for a normal ride with a sat nav in your ear remember its not a bad thing anol if you go the wrong way then what he tells you as long as you do it safe he will just direct you back on path also big tip when you see bus lanes look out for the sign if there in a motorbike in the sign use that lane it will be classed as your left hand lane and he will want to see you use that lane you got this buddy i believe in you 💪🏍🏍
Well done, enjoy watching your journey. You have a great way of explaining things. Keep working on your figure of eights, u turns and slow speed manouvres, these are real skills that will improve your riding confidence. Never stop learning. Good luck with the Mod2.
Been watching your journey so far and want to say thank you for sharing because it’s helped with my own learning. I passed my Mod1 earlier this week and had a very similar experience on the test … although mine was down to nerves causing brain fog and body stiffened like a concrete block making slow manoeuvres truly terrible. To my complete surprise I passed with 3 minors so first thing I did was look for your update vid to see how you got on as well 😅. Got my Mod2 booked for early December so looking forward to seeing how you get on later this month with yours. I’ve saved buying my first bike (will start on a Triumph Speed 400) until after I get my full licence then upgrade after a year or so to the Speed 900 to make sure I’ve built up my skill set well enough to handle the bigger bike. Good luck with your Mod2
CONGRATULATIONS. I passed my Mod 2 Thursday and it will be so much easier for you. I was also at the NEC today it's a good day out but I suggest taking a bag with food and drink etc in with you.
What a brilliant experience you've had - congratulations. Love your description of the figure eight manoeuvre and your feeling of your final manoeuvre. Clare should have your 125cc, bet she will also enjoy it. Keep riding safe.
Well Done. Nicely summarised. Mod 2 is so much easier. You ride everyday, which is just what you do on Mod 2. As long as you don’t do anything dangerous you will be fine. My instructor said to me ‘ Mod 2 is pantomime, just overdo all your lifesavers and checks so the examiner is left in no doubt’. Fingers crossed for you!
"Simon says ... Don't look at the cone" the key to slow speed is using friction zone on your clutch and rear brake without moving your throttle hand. Takes a lot of brain effort. For a u turn, you should be looking where you are going, means turning your whole body 180 degrees round to look. For me, doing tighter figure eight requires shifting butt over to edge of the seat while going round. Hope you enjoy your new skills on bigger bikes!!
Well done mate! Re insurance, my first bike was a suzuki bandit 656cc and it didn't seem long before I was paying no more than £150. Albeit many years since (seems like yesterday) I now pay less than for my triumph speed triple 1050cc. An affordable and enjoyable secondary way of getting about (fair weather in my case) enjoy, and be safe! 👍
Well done passing first time, I passed my mod 2 this week up in ‘ull but I took 2 attempts at the mod 1, you’re spot on with the instructors, the instructors I had were great too, patient and calm, makes such a difference. Good luck with MOD 2
Well done and congratulations. You have given me so many new tips for when I do my training and definately boosted my outlook of riding a 'big bike'. Thanks
Well done fella. Nailed it. See how much easier a larger bike is to ride. And don’t be tempted to go too large when you do get another. I’m a big believer that the fun zone is in mid size bikes
Another quality entertaining vlog Andy and Claire. Pleased you got through the Mod 1. It’s all plain sailing from now on in. Mod 2 is simply being a car driver, but on a bike. You have all the road knowledge and skills so just utilise them whilst enjoying your ride. It’s over before you know it. Just remember your head check live savers at all times. Exciting times for you and us, is when you’ve passed and it’s time to select a new bike. It’s just the most exciting time Andy.
Andrew, I so pleased for you, well done. I knew the practicing you did would stand you in good stead. Don’t ever be afraid of bigger bikes, they only ever go as fast as you twist your right wrist. On to Mod2. 🎉🎉
Glad you passed. Congratulations!! I have just come back to biking this year after a 30 year break, passed my test at 17 (just a single on road test). I went and did 2 training days over a month before I brought my bike, to make sure I liked it still. First time was out on 125s and more like a CBT. Second time was a training day for mod1 and 2. So got to do the mod 1 with all the cones on the Z650. After that I was still happy so I brought a new CBR650R with 94hp :). Now done 3500 miles in 7 month, 90% fun riding, 10% to work and back. I found the 650 way easier to ride than the 125. They are so more stable.
Well done! I have to renew my CBT next week before I can go back to my MOD 1 - you are ahead of me now - well done and you beat the bogey figure of 8 - that is my problem too, that is where I put my foot down a couple of weeks ago
Well done for getting through the Mod 1. I completed Mod 2 training yesterday ahead of my test later this month. Take a look at CCM as your first big bike, uk made in Bolton, so just round the corner for you. Great looking bikes, exceptional build quality made from machined billet bits and carbon fibre. I’ve got a CMM Bobber stealth sat in my garage waiting for me to pass my test. I can’t wait to ride it in the road.
Simon and all the staff at S & K are great, they're all chilled af, so patient ( I'd never ridden before and went from nothing to full licence with them ). I was a bit shit at first but they got me through!
Well done… I was crapping it right to the end hoping you would pass! Feel so lucky I did all this, back when the world was young, when it was one test. Don’t think I could handle the nerves if I had to do it again 😅
Well done Andy, you’ll be popping wheelies in no time, anticipation’s killing me wondering what your next bike will be, remember you’re a big lad and cramps a thing on bikes so choose carefully. Good luck for mod 2 🤞
Fantastic Video Andy, great news on passing your mod one, told you it was easier on the bigger bike, just want to say don’t rush into buying the bigger bike, you want one that you both can enjoy, you will know when the times right to get Claire on the back ,good luck with the mod 2 although I don’t think you will need it 👍
Congratulations mate, well done. Three down, one to go. I did my MOD 1 at Rotherham about 5 years ago, but from the sound of it I'm sure its the same Dave. After I did the U turn, he said "well I'm not sure that's technically a U turn, but you've ended up in the right place and facing in the right direction, and that's all that matters". Enjoy the bike show, nearly all the main bike makers have a cruiser in their lineup, so you'll have lots to chose from if you want to stay with a cruiser.
Well done for passing your mod one or whatever they call it these days (i passed the full thing over 30 years ago ) and hopefully you've got decades of great riding days ahead 👍👍
Congratulations, you’ve got the toughest part out the way ,mod 2 is lots more relaxing ,it seems daunting but when you pull out the test centre you will automatically feel more at ease .
Hi Andy, I stumbled upon your channel at the same time as I started my motorbike journey as a 56 year old doing CBT. We seem to be on a parallel timeline. I did my CBT same as you and I had my MOD1 this week just gone and passed as yourself. Loving your channel. Keep up the infotainment :-)
@@bikerofatlantis after much anxiety, which soon went with the cold weather today I passed my MOD2 this morning. I am super chuffed and a big shout to Shires Motorcycle Training, Leicester for their training (not endorsed). Just need to wait for a break in the weather now to hit the roads solo !!
Hi Andy fantastic job, good luck for your mod 2, just remember mate the Big Bikes don't give you second chances it's all or Nothing, treat them with respect. 👏
Nice i passed my Mod 1 & Mod 2 this past Wednesday ( yeah both on the same day ). I have just picked up my first bike a VFR 800 V4 Vtech, good luck on the Mod 2 I'm sure you will smash it
So pleased for you, been waiting on this video and if it's any consolation I'm sure my figure of 8 looked like a mr tickle drawing, examiner just said unusual but completed lol
Well played! Following your journey and I'm in a similar situation so it's good to see you go through it all first. Hopefully get my theory and Mod 1 done within the next couple of months! Congrats again!
Yaaaayyyy! Well done Andrew, I knew you'd pass with flying colours, but I can't stress this enough, the shoulder check is also known as the "life saver" which is exactly what it means. So please make your shoulder checks second nature. I'm proud of you.👍🏼🥇🤗
Nice one mate! Mod 2 is a piece of pi*s as long as your safe. I got a cb650r and absolutely love it. £600 a year for my first year! I was going to get the 1000 but glad I didn’t. You’ll find a brand new bike a lot quicker than the 600 you did your test on - mine is 95bhp and as fast as I need!
Well done mate, bet you're chuffed with that. Doing my CBT tomorrow, so I'm watching your journey with interest, I'll hopefully be where you are now in a few months 🤞🏼
Congratulations! I dropped the bike on my first mod1, right after the figure 8, when the guy waved me over but I realised half way I'd be facing the wrong way & grabbed the front brake. Gutted. Then second time, not even any minors, but a much more chilled examiner & a right-hand course which is what I'd practiced... 🤷♂
Well done dude I've been watching your progress as I'm also doing the same thing but I'm a little behind. I'm 45 did my cbt about a month ago then. Just did my theory test 2 weeks ago and now getting ready to do my mod1 hope I do aswell as you did. I've already got my second bike Aprilia Rs457 ready and waiting for me to ride I really can't wait hopefully I'll get on it before Christmas.
Hi Andy (&Claire) well done for getting that Mod 1 jobbie under your belt! You both make us laugh so much and bet you can't wait to get something a bit bigger than your 125! If you keep the 125 as well, then Claire could have a go too?🤩 all the best for the Mod 2 and your continued motorcycling journey... Andy & Lyn.
Well done on your 1st time pass. Took me three attempts to get through my mod 1. You'll smash the mod 2. It's just a ride on the road, far less stressful.
Congrats! I remember taking my full license on the road in Leicester in 1991 (I'm from a small market town so was already petrified in a city) very first thing was an emergency stop, it was on a wet road with concrete roads not tarmac, locked back wheel so thought sod it, I failed I'm just gonna get my money's worth now! Spent most of the test tapping my helmet a sign to say I "can't hear comms" though I could, rode like I normally do and not in test mode, got back and fully expected a fail but I passed! He said I controlled the skid oh and he knew I was just being a knob patting my helmet. If I hadn't thought I'd failed in first 5 mins I'd have been stressed throughout. You never know that you have failed until the end despite mistakes you blow up in your mind.

When I did my CBT and test it was about £70 for the lot but that was in 1996
Congratulations mate you’re really taking this seriously and I admire your commitment to get your full bikers licence xx
Thanks so much Rob 👍👍
Congratulations. Really helpful to see what Mod 1 covers so thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
congratulations! i passed my mod 1 today and i have my mod 2 monday!
Thank you, all the best mate
@ do you have mod 2 booked yet?
@@bikerofatlantis so i passed my mod 2! all the best for when you get to yours
Best of luck and let me know how you get on 👍👍
We loved our trip to Portmadoch in the summer. You are lucky to live somewhere so nice
What a great channel. I watch quite a lot of motorcycle orientated ones, and yours is pretty unique. I love the little debrief with Claire and the banter between you. Congratulations on the pass Andy, I'm looking forward to your next installment.
Thank you very much! 👍
Congrats.
Hello. This is great to read 👍👍 Happy travels
Well done pal, thanks for sharing your experiences. Looking to get my full licence next spring, finally scratching a 25 year itch (in my 40s now) so it's great to follow along and see what I'm letting myself in for. Cheers, stay safe 👍
You gotta scratch it 👍👍 let me know how you get on
@@bikerofatlantis Sure do, tried other things but it's never gone away. Now it's stronger than ever! Cheers, will do 👍
Congratulations mate you've done the hardest bit by far.
That swerve has a lot to answer for 😂
Well done Andy,I learned with Simon, such a patient guy and a excellent instructor. Good luck on your mod 2 you'll smash it 💪 👍
Thankyou 👍
I've passed my mod 1 last week, but I still feeling anxious watching you explain the exam.
Congratulations 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done Andy. Top work fella
Thanks mate
Congrats! Awesome achievement! Keep up the training, mod 2 next! Youre gonna smash it!
I hope so!
Congratulations on passing your Mod1 and best of luck on your next test.
I was planning on going to the NEC for the bike show this weekend and then during the week I rolled my foot on uneven ground and now I am in pain when I walk, waiting for the swelling and bruising to go down
Crikey. Hope you sort your foot soon!!
Congrats Andy. Great to see you passed. The bike test these days is completely different to mine back in 1979.
Hi 👋
Nice one mate! 🎉 knew you'd manage it only one more hurdle. Yeah the insurance costs are insane. Good luck with your next test 👍
Thanks 👍👍
Well done that man! You'll be fully fledged by end of the month. You've done well as you've put yourself under extra pressure by vlogging this journey to a full licence. Kudos and good luck for your mod 2.
Hope so!
Congratulations Andrew!!! 🏍 🎉 very well deserved!
Have a fab time at the NEC both 😊
Thank you! Will do! 👍👍👍
See you on the road in Rotherham 👍👍
Congratulations Andrew, well done. Now on to the mod 2, I think it’s the easier of the tests, so good luck with it. Looking forward to the next video 👍
Thanks 👍
Great job! Here in the US, they give motorcycle endorsements with free fuel fill up at the gas station
Is that true?
Congratulations Andy Glad to hear you passed your mod 1 i passed my mod 2 on the 13th using the same bike school they are really good really lovely people been watching your journey from the start mod 2 is much easier when you go do your mod 2 try not to think about the examiner ride like he is not even there and that you are out for a normal ride with a sat nav in your ear remember its not a bad thing anol if you go the wrong way then what he tells you as long as you do it safe he will just direct you back on path also big tip when you see bus lanes look out for the sign if there in a motorbike in the sign use that lane it will be classed as your left hand lane and he will want to see you use that lane you got this buddy i believe in you 💪🏍🏍
Great news on the pass 👍👍 Thanks for this tip, really appreciated
Congrats on passing! Looking forward to following you further along your journey
Thanks so much!
Well done, enjoy watching your journey. You have a great way of explaining things. Keep working on your figure of eights, u turns and slow speed manouvres, these are real skills that will improve your riding confidence. Never stop learning. Good luck with the Mod2.
Thank you! Will do!
Have a great weekend
Congratulations Andrew. So pleased for you and Claire. On to the next one I’m sure you’ll smash it. Stay safe. ❤
Thanks so much
Been watching your journey so far and want to say thank you for sharing because it’s helped with my own learning.
Hi. This is great news and congratulations
Let me know how you get on with your mod2. Great bikes there waiting for you 👍👍👍
CONGRATULATIONS. I passed my Mod 2 Thursday and it will be so much easier for you. I was also at the NEC today it's a good day out but I suggest taking a bag with food and drink etc in with you.
Good tip. Thanks, hope to see you
What a brilliant experience you've had - congratulations. Love your description of the figure eight manoeuvre and your feeling of your final manoeuvre. Clare should have your 125cc, bet she will also enjoy it. Keep riding safe.
Thank you so much!
Hi. Thank you for watching 👍 😎
well done 👍 the z650 is a great next bike to consider
@simonsmith5694 I have the yamaha mt07 perfect bike for any rider
Nicely done, good luck on your mod 2
Thanks!
Hi. Thanks for this and for watching 👍
Love triumphs 👍
Well done!!! Well done indeed! Bloody knew you'd smash it. Congratulations! 🎉
Thanks so much!!
Well done , really helpful for anybody who’s considering taking up biking.
Thankyou. Can’t recommend biking to anyone enough
Well done passing first time, I passed my mod 2 this week up in ‘ull but I took 2 attempts at the mod 1, you’re spot on with the instructors, the instructors I had were great too, patient and calm, makes such a difference. Good luck with MOD 2
Thanks. Congratulations on your pass 👍👍👍
Well done and congratulations. You have given me so many new tips for when I do my training and definately boosted my outlook of riding a 'big bike'. Thanks
Great to hear! Let me know how you get on
@bikerofatlantis passed the brutal Theory test today. Have my "big bike" assessment next week..
Hi Andy, enjoyed your training journey and your style of vids. Good luck with mod 2
Thanks 👍
Well done fella. Nailed it. See how much easier a larger bike is to ride. And don’t be tempted to go too large when you do get another. I’m a big believer that the fun zone is in mid size bikes
Hello. Yes I am hearing this from a lot of people. Thanks for watching
Thanks 👍
Andrew, I so pleased for you, well done. I knew the practicing you did would stand you in good stead. Don’t ever be afraid of bigger bikes, they only ever go as fast as you twist your right wrist. On to Mod2. 🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Looking at the Mod 1 and 2 spring next year. This is a fantastic channel. Thank you for posting.
Much appreciated!
Let me know how you get on 👍
Congratulations on successfully passing Mod1. Well done. Looking forward to seeing Mod2.
Thanks!
This is a great story. Wishing you many happy travels 👍👍
Well done! I have to renew my CBT next week before I can go back to my MOD 1 - you are ahead of me now - well done and you beat the bogey figure of 8 - that is my problem too, that is where I put my foot down a couple of weeks ago
Enjoy your renewal and good luck for your mod 1. Let me know how you get on
Well done for getting through the Mod 1.
That is one gorgeous bike waiting for you. Let me know how you get on 👍
Simon and all the staff at S & K are great, they're all chilled af, so patient ( I'd never ridden before and went from nothing to full licence with them ).
I was a bit shit at first but they got me through!
😂😂 thanks for watching 👍👍 Happy travels
Congratulations, so pleased for you, there are some great videos on TH-cam on mod 2 training especially where you need to do your life saver checks
I'll check it out! 👍👍
Well done… I was crapping it right to the end hoping you would pass! Feel so lucky I did all this, back when the world was young, when it was one test. Don’t think I could handle the nerves if I had to do it again 😅
😂😂😂 thanks for watching
You are correct Simon is a legend , when he does the manoeuvres he makes them look easy.
👍👍👍👍 yes!
Well done big fella, big achievement 👏 Thanks for sharing with us all
Thanks 👍
Great news - well done Andy 👍🏻 I remember those moments when you’re told you’ve passed so well 😌On to Mod 2 💪🏻
Thanks 👍
Well done Andy, you’ll be popping wheelies in no time, anticipation’s killing me wondering what your next bike will be, remember you’re a big lad and cramps a thing on bikes so choose carefully. Good luck for mod 2 🤞
Hi. Thank you for watching 👍🏍️🏍️
Fantastic Video Andy, great news on passing your mod one, told you it was easier on the bigger bike, just want to say don’t rush into buying the bigger bike, you want one that you both can enjoy, you will know when the times right to get Claire on the back ,good luck with the mod 2 although I don’t think you will need it 👍
Thanks for your kind words and encouragement Pauline 👍
Congratulations mate, well done. Three down, one to go. I did my MOD 1 at Rotherham about 5 years ago, but from the sound of it I'm sure its the same Dave. After I did the U turn, he said "well I'm not sure that's technically a U turn, but you've ended up in the right place and facing in the right direction, and that's all that matters". Enjoy the bike show, nearly all the main bike makers have a cruiser in their lineup, so you'll have lots to chose from if you want to stay with a cruiser.
Good old Dave, sounds like it’s him 👍👍
Well done for passing your mod one or whatever they call it these days (i passed the full thing over 30 years ago ) and hopefully you've got decades of great riding days ahead 👍👍
Fingers crossed!
Congratulations, you’ve got the toughest part out the way ,mod 2 is lots more relaxing ,it seems daunting but when you pull out the test centre you will automatically feel more at ease .
Thanks 👍
Well done 👍 Love following your journey. Good luck for mod 2.
Hi. Thank you for watching 👍
Hi. Congrats on your pass 👍👍👍 Let me know how you get on
@@bikerofatlantis after much anxiety, which soon went with the cold weather today I passed my MOD2 this morning. I am super chuffed and a big shout to Shires Motorcycle Training, Leicester for their training (not endorsed). Just need to wait for a break in the weather now to hit the roads solo !!
Congratulations, only one way to go now....... ONWARDS AND UPWARDS! ride safe
😎😎👍👍
Brilliant!! Congratulations 👍 loving the journey, I’m 53, did my CBT last week, theory test is the end of this month!
Fingers crossed! Let me know how you get on
Hi Andy fantastic job, good luck for your mod 2, just remember mate the Big Bikes don't give you second chances it's all or Nothing, treat them with respect. 👏
Very true! Thanks 👍
Nice i passed my Mod 1 & Mod 2 this past Wednesday ( yeah both on the same day ). I have just picked up my first bike a VFR 800 V4 Vtech, good luck on the Mod 2 I'm sure you will smash it
Congratulations
What a lovely bike 👍👍
Yeah it’s a beast. What sort of bike you looking at once you get that Mod 2 done or do we have to wait for a future episode
Great stuff. Loving your journey. I did my DAS in 2023 at the age if 51. Best thing I've ever done. On a cb650r currently. Plenty for me.
Hi. Thank you for watching 👍
All the best for MOD 2 mate
Thank you
So pleased for you, been waiting on this video and if it's any consolation I'm sure my figure of 8 looked like a mr tickle drawing, examiner just said unusual but completed lol
😂😂😂😂😁
Well played! Following your journey and I'm in a similar situation so it's good to see you go through it all first. Hopefully get my theory and Mod 1 done within the next couple of months! Congrats again!
Go for it! Let me know how you get on
@bikerofatlantis Will do mate cheers! Hopefully the examiners up in Scotland are nice 😅
Fantastic stuff mate. Well done.
Soon be shopping for something nice and shiny and new.
Can't wait!
Congratulations mate and good luck for the mod 2.
Thanks, you too!
Yaaaayyyy! Well done Andrew, I knew you'd pass with flying colours, but I can't stress this enough, the shoulder check is also known as the "life saver" which is exactly what it means. So please make your shoulder checks second nature. I'm proud of you.👍🏼🥇🤗
Hi. Thank you for watching 👍👍👍😎
Another great video congratulations mate on achieving your Mod 1 👏👏👏👏
Thank you 👍
Top man! Well done fella.
Much appreciated!
Congratulations Andrew! Never doubted you’d pass. We’re off to the bike show at weekend so may see you there 👍🏻
Look out for us
Well done. Stay safe and remember, rubber side down!
Back at ya!
Nice one, seriously you have the hard stuff out the way. Mod 2 enjoy the bumble, remember mirrors and shoulder checks , relax and enjoy. Good luck.
Thanks 👍👍
Nice one mate! Mod 2 is a piece of pi*s as long as your safe. I got a cb650r and absolutely love it. £600 a year for my first year! I was going to get the 1000 but glad I didn’t. You’ll find a brand new bike a lot quicker than the 600 you did your test on - mine is 95bhp and as fast as I need!
Oooh nice bike 👍👍
Well done mate, bet you're chuffed with that. Doing my CBT tomorrow, so I'm watching your journey with interest, I'll hopefully be where you are now in a few months 🤞🏼
Have a fab CBT day and enjoy
Keep safe and let me know how you get on 👍👍
@bikerofatlantis CBT done. Picking up my first motorbike, aged 50, on Saturday. It is ALL I can think about 😝
Congratulations! 🤷♂
Hi. Second time lucky 👍
Well done, 👍👍
thankyou
Well done dude I've been watching your progress as I'm also doing the same thing but I'm a little behind. I'm 45 did my cbt about a month ago then. Just did my theory test 2 weeks ago and now getting ready to do my mod1 hope I do aswell as you did. I've already got my second bike Aprilia Rs457 ready and waiting for me to ride I really can't wait hopefully I'll get on it before Christmas.
Hi. Thanks for watching
Good luck with the MOD1 👍👍 Let me know how how you get on
Hi Andy (&Claire) well done for getting that Mod 1 jobbie under your belt! You both make us laugh so much and bet you can't wait to get something a bit bigger than your 125! If you keep the 125 as well, then Claire could have a go too?🤩 all the best for the Mod 2 and your continued motorcycling journey... Andy & Lyn.
Hello guys ❤️ hope you have a good weekend
@@bikerofatlantis thanks guys, and hope you have a great day at the bike show!
Well done on your 1st time pass. Took me three attempts to get through my mod 1. You'll smash the mod 2. It's just a ride on the road, far less stressful.
Hi. Thanks for this
Hi. Thanks for watching. Good to hear you passed 👍👍
