Great video and good to see you on a Friday evening. I am 6’3” actually but I’m almost 2st worth of kebab heavier than you so I’d be down at 35mph 😂. I can’t wait to see you get up to a bigger bike.

Hiya I passed my motorbike test last week, there is a channel on youtube called motorcycle lessons uk, hosted by a lady called Leanne, and she has a playlist for mod2 I would highly recommend watching it before you get to do your Mod 2 stuff, wish you the best for your tests :)
Love watching your motorbiking journey! I’m 57 now and passed my test May 2023. I have covered just over 10k miles since then and now ride a Harley Street Glide and am loving every minute of it! Keep going! One thing, you mentioned about 9:54 that you hadn’t used your front brake much. Whilst it seems counter intuitive , it’s your most important stopping aid. I was taught you should be using 75% front and 25% rear brake to stop under normal conditions. Look it up, could save you in a tight spot.
@ I go to squires quite regularly on my way round our beautiful county. Mostly ride for fun, sometimes take the wife…( you’ll get to that eventually)…so may see you around once you start to spread your wings ! Once you pass your licence and fancy a nice big bike, but are a bit apprehensive about doing so. I can wholeheartedly recommend going to a Harley dealer and having a test ride on a Harley Fat Bob. They are dead easy to ride, as soon as you start moving they’re really well balanced and have loads of grunt. It’s looks and ride aren’t to everyone’s tastes but it’s worth it. I rode one only a 3 months after passing my test, made me grin lots.
Oh no, my friend, don't worry about the high vis. When I rode in the UK, I ALWAYS wore a high vis. vest or jacket and a white helmet. Many people don't look out for bikes. But they DO look out for people who look like they might be police.
Keep wearing the high vis , its for you as well as Claire , I got knocked of on a roundabout this week , just came straight at me from the junction , luckily I was going very slowly , and thankfully wearing all the right gear ,hi vis jacket and helmet , headlight on , broken brake lever , scratched exhaust cover and handle bar end , no injury to me , "DIDNT SEE YOU " . All the very best with your test
Good luck with the Mod1! I passed last year (none biker at 56!). I was nervous about jumping on a 650 but in reality it was easier to ride, more stable and confidence inspiring. Enjoying following your journey. It all rings true. You’ll smash it
Been going to squires for 44 years, It used to be in Sherburn, but moved to NewThorpe in the 90's. It has kept the same name though. Always use your front brake, use the rear when needed. Wednesday nights are the best time to go to Squires. Make sure that head light is on too.
Enjoyed watching that. Good luck with the test. My wife bought my direct access for me as a gift before we were married 18 years ago, best thing ever. I turned 50 this year. I’ve had every kind of bike, sports, adventure, retro, Vespas, they’re all brilliant. Rides to the coast, touring abroad, moto camping, it’s all excellent. You’ve got to try it all, all kinds of bike and see what works for you, top end rush and cornering on a sports bike vs low down torque of a big cruiser, bikes these days are all so well engineered it’s hard to find a bad one. Enjoy the NEC. Cheers
I've enjoyed following your progress, Andy. Your channel popped up when I was researching my first bike at the age of 41. Only last week did I pull the trigger and bought a 2020 Kawasaki Z400 and boy did I enjoy riding it home. Can't wait for the next video, ride safe.
Interesting watching you progress, good stuff. I don't understand why so much riding gear is black! don't use a jet wash on your bike unless you are just blowing it over, it forces water into places you don't want water. Ride safe
Very interesting following your motorcycle journey & all the tests & procedures. I'm 57 & have been riding 40 years, your little 125cc wouldn't look out of place next to my XV950 BOLT. Only one thing I'm going to say is use your front brake more. 👍
The great thing about wearing a reflective vest is that as you go on rides and start to accumulate patches you can sew them to it and just change the vest from your winter to summer gear.

' Counter steering ' indeed ! although some bikers struggle to understand how steering the opposite direction to the corner and the lean makes sense, but it does ! ⬅️➡️ 👍
Great stuff Andy! I completed your journey three years ago at 61 years of age! I was a 17 year old with an RD250 on L plates back in 1977 but didn’t bother to sit my test sadly. I had exactly the same issue with my Mutt 125 and with my 90kg getting it over 50! You do feel so vulnerable on A roads and dual carriageways with cars attempting to overtake. Passed Mod 1 and 2 in 2021 and traded the Mutt against a Yamaha Tracer 700 which I loved. Very similar to the MT07 I did my Direct Access training on. Then one year ago I moved on to my current bike, a Kawasaki Z1000SX a fast sports tourer, which I absolutely love! Others have said this too and I agree that it just gets better and better! Best wishes.
My husband is shouting ‘let it out’ and ‘good blat’ at the telly. You’ve awaken something in him now!! Look what you’re doing to wives across the land!! 😂😂
These videos need to be used for training purposes for anyone wanting to take up motorcycling. In previous comments, I said I had just retired and come back to motorcycling after 10+ years, the bike I went for had to meet my criteria and I ended up with a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 twin which I totally love, but it's not for everyone. Go and try different brands and styles, and you will find the one you really feel comfortable on. Great job, both of you, and in the spring, Claire will be joining you 😂👍👍
Another cracking video. You're only one step behind me, I just passed my MOD 1 up in Carlisle this Monday just gone (first attempt). I was a bit alarmed when my instructor said I would only be needing one days practice a couple of days before the test. But you'll soon realise after a full days riding on a big bike that really that's all you need. When my mate was telling me that riding is much easier and controlled on a bigger bike, I couldn't get my head around it, but now that I've experienced it I completely get it now. All the best with your test. I look forward to seeing the next video. Jamie.
Good luck on your MoD 1, having recently passed myself the 1 bit of info my instructor said was when doing the slow maneuvers if you feel like its going to fall to the side release the clutch a little and itll pull the bike back central and youll get a touch of speed then you can rein the clutch in which is better rather then lots of revs, but again goodluck im sure youll smash it!!! Ride safe.
Keep it up, you're doing great 👍, I'm 52 yrs young and just passed my Mod 2 DAS this week, absolutely had a blast. Now working out what and when to get next. Good luck🤞
At the end of the video you talk about test riding different bikes. I would strongly recommend you do, take your time and ride as many different styles of bike from as many different manufacturers as you can. It used to be easy when I started out, insurance was a rider policy which meant you were insured not the specific bike so we used be able to have a go on each others bikes and still be fully insured, so swapping bikes to have a go was quite common. You will be surprised how different seemingly very similar bikes can feel and perform. Good luck with the mod 1.
Exciting days ahead… Good luck for next week. My first (and current bike) is a 2016 bonneville T100 which I absolutely love… Lots of torque and very cool looking imo.
Well, you’ve definitely made it into the world of motorcycling! I was watching TH-cam videos on the British Superbike Championship & the IOM TT & you guys popped up as the next, recommended video. You had better get these tests passed first time now that you’re in such esteemed company.😊
If you have a motorcycle dealer in every town in the UK it's not surprising that so many are closing now. The UK has the least amount of motorcycles per capita in Europe. I hope yours will stay. Ride safely!
Loved your video! Real world and down to earth! And remember, it’s not the miles per hour on a bike, it’s the smiles per hour (sorry, hate clichés but had a couple of beers) Just sold a big bike for a 350 and am having so much fun!
That goes twice for me. Your videos remind me of when I was learning to ride, back in 1989. I admit, I'll still hit the horn instead of the turn signal from time to time (but that's to let everyone know that I plan on turning and will put the signal on soon). There's one point that you know more than me: roundabouts. There are 14 to 16 of them in the USA, and I agree with 94% of Americans: we don't understand them; they scare us; and we hate them. Keep the rubber side down. Great video.
Good ride you’ll be touring next Living the biker dream and the best way to learn is to ride with a mate who’s not trying to show off but to help you Keep it going 🫡
So good Andy to see your confidence ramping up. What really impressed me was your editing and commentary skills on this vlog. So many other vloggers are too repetitious and boring, and i tend to loose interest in what they are saying. I think you (and Claire) have a great future in motorcycle vlogging and I'm looking forward to the inevitable experience fuelled future vlogs you'll provide us with. Good luck and keep up the good work. 👍👍
Love this you are so funny my hubby is a biker and has always been into Triumph bikes and he loves them but you are making me think maybe 😳 I could have a go on a bike like yours 🤗 thanks both x
Good luck on your MoD1 Andrew. Great informative vlog things look and feel like they’re moving on at a steady pace. Claire still looks happy that’s the main thing 😊
Well done you. Practice makes perfect. You won’t know yourself when you get on a bigger bike. Better handling, and power to get away from all the knobs who drive cars, safely of course. Keep up the good work and ride safe ✊👏👏
Another brilliant watch, I'm on a similar journey to you , i ve passed my module two today in Rotherham with only 1 minor fault, i am 46 6ft 4 and looking forward to having a bike more suited to my frame 😂
Great spin Andy. You're enjoying it ! You spoke about high viz jacket..... look at helite jacket (airbag vest.) Clare will be happy if you have one. Its expensive but a life saver. You can even get them in black. Ive got one and I bought one for my son.
Yeah, the helite vests are great peace of mind, I have a black tethered version for warmer weather and have the rst paragon 6 jacket with the in&motion non-tethered airbag system, but that has a monthly subscription, but is a nice warm waterproof jacket.
Spent ages choosing my 125 and went for a Zontes G1. Could hold 70 on the flat with me on it at 14 stone. Dropped back to 60 on the longer dual carriageway inclines. Was a lovely first bike. Kept it for a few months after passing my test using it for my motorway commute. 100 miles a gallon was nice - miss that too.
Great stuff Andy, you could always get some panniers to put your butties in, either that or a top box which you could put your helmet in when you park up if needed. Used to love going to the bike show, so many lovely bikes but never enough money, lol
So much to comment on! 1) not gonna discuss the bike stuff, not done my CBT yet :( 2) Quadlock - look out for a brand called Fidlock, just as good but cheaper and easier to use (although, i'm talking pedal bikes, not sure if they've broken into the motorbike market yet) 3) Pontifract cakes. Nuff said. 4) Brassed off - you are the second person I've heard mention this superb film since I saw it.. back in the late 90s. More people need to watch it! (Pete Postlethwaite really was one of our finest actors!) loving these videos and good luck with the Mod 1
Another enjoyable video. Good luck with the test, have a look at the mid size adventure style bikes at the bike show, they could be a good bike to move up to.
Love the format with the back and forth between you two, I'm fascinated with how you're doing. I'm back to biking after 30 years and really should have done some kind of refresh course as I feel like a learner with a full A license pn a 650, my first couple of trips were with my mate a solid biker and he gave me some tips and its coming back to me. To be honest if I had to do the test all over again today I'd think twice so I'm glad I already did my full license in the 90s. You have my respects as do those that have to go through it all. 👍
When I first went on a big 600cc bike as a learner I came off and didn't want to go out anymore on my 125. Big bikes spoil you rotten. When I passed my test I bought a Triumph 900 street scrambler. The best transition bike ever!
Love it! Good luck for Monday & Tuesday! Hope you're doing a vlog at the Bike show? Love the NEC too, but this shows tickets are quite a difference to the Caravan & Motorhome ones 😳 😅 x
Hi mate, me and my girlfriend have been watching as she did her CBT around the same time as you after being my back pack for a while, love what your doing and really enjoying your journey to your license, good luck with the mod 1, you got this 👍
Enjoy the upgrade of the "big bike"you will definitely be smiling after the first 15 minutes of getting used to it .From what i have seen of you doing your manoeuvres on the 125 the mod 1 ahould not be too much of a problem take in as much knowledge as you can from your instructor and fingers crossed Tuesday's test should be in the bag good luck 👍
When you get the chance get yourself out & wring it's neck you might see 60mph, watch out for that tunnel vision tho 😂 good video, it's been years since I was at Squires, good luck on the Mod1, when you do get onto bigger bikes you will realise how the power is your friend.
Well done...made us smile! Loved seeing you ride through our village of Ackworth and where we live now in Haribo Land!! We love Squires and regular visit there...nice Sunday carvery!😋 Carry on enjoying your ride...51mph ain't so bad!😅 xx
I passed my category a full licence on the 5th of this month 🙌, I will say that when you pass the test on the email the dvsa send you it will say congratulations on passing you euam2 thats nothing to worry about as I did! 😅 EU- entitled to ride in the eu, A- cat A full licence, M- module, 2- module 2 I thought at first I'd done the wrong test 😅
Helmet on the mirrors/handlebars always makes me nervous. The obvious thing is if you drop it from that height really you should replace the helmet, the less obvious thing is if do it enough it can actually effect the helmet mold making it potentially less safe. Loving the channel so far, can't wait to see the mod1 and mod2, going to show it to my partner who will be doing them next year. Dont know if you've been recommended this before, but next steps after the licence you should consider bikeSafe, then IAM or RoSPA, probably after a little while on a bigger bike. But in prep you can buy the roadcraft book, which is what these advanced riding groups base their training on, its a real eye opener on how much you dont know you dont know. Good luck on the tests!
That "Summat leaking there" looked an awful lot like a diesel spill! Avoid those as though your life depended on it, and always be aware that if you do have to cross a spill it can take a while for your tyres to clear. Ride safe. Good look with the Mod 1 just keep your discipline and focus remember your lifesavers and you'll be fine!
I used to go to Squires Cafe in the early to mid 1980's, at that time it was in the middle of Sherburn-in-Elmet village, it was so popular that it had three carparks in the village. I've never been to the current Squires, I will address that next summer.
On Amazon there's a roller called Groller. Your rear wheel sits on this whilst on a side stand and you can manually turn your wheel by hand whilst scrubbing or oiling your chain
Great stuff. 600 miles in - no mean feat. You’ll get lots of advice about which bike to get. I always say it’s like a guitar - get the one that makes you want to play it, the one you can’t help give a second glance to when you’re in the same room as it. I’ve currently got a Bonnie T120 and it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned. The T100 is probably the easiest bike I’ve ever ridden. Then again, I’m a bit of a Triumph fanboy. Loving the channel, and it’s led me to your other channel, which is also great. As long as you’re not a Leeds fan I’ll continue to subscribe! 😉 Thanks for sharing.
I’ve had every variation of the Quadlock but I actually bought the same Amazon copy as yourself last week and I couldn’t believe the quality! The only difference is i change the blue tab to a black one but definitely a bargain
In my student days, I had a great friend from Pontefract and she was a biker too. Your bike did quite well really, (for a 125, obviously nothing wrong with it) and so did you. Best of luck with your Mod 1 stuff, you won't need it though.
Looking forward to seeing the different bikes you're going to look at. I wonder if you might opt for a larger cruiser? Most bike brands all do them , very much like harleys... without the price tag.
Good luck with your mod 1. When I spoke to the instructor, after passing my mod 1, he told me the biggest fail by far is the U-TURN. Practice as many times as you can , between two curbs on a quiet road somewhere during lessons & prior to test 👍
Just to add to this, my instructor had me doing u turns on a tighter street, so when I came to do my u turn on the mod 1 (which is 7.7m width) it felt like I had all the room in the world to do it.
GL for your MOD 1, I have to do my CBT again as it is almost out of date before I can do my MOD 1 again, that is booked for 20th. Good Luck and I look forward to the next installment
The old A1, the Great North Road. Go to Squires on evenings in summer & you'll struggle to park your bike, it gets pretty busy. Once you've pass your test the 125 will be traded in, we've all been there 😀
Most learner bikes have proportional braking on the rear lever combining front and rear brakes to prevent skiding accidents. Probably best getting used to applying the front brake manually before getting on the Bigger bikes. Best of luck. Nice one!
I passed my test on a Lambretta 150 in the days when you just drove round the block with the examiner watching from the corner. More than 50 years on, my bike is much bigger, but I wouldn't fancy doing a manoeuvring test on it. I don't like riding with other people - I prefer to focus on my riding without worrying about where the other people are. Perhaps I'm just anti-social 😊
Andy you’re only a bit behind me! Late to the game…No interest in bikes as a young fella but decided a few years ago to take my test. CBT easy enough, failed MOD 1 3 times! Just hated the idea of being on the square. MOD 2 a breeze. Eventually passed last year 03/11/23. You’re doing it right. Don’t overthink MOD 1 like I did! It’s not a hard test. As others have said unlike car instructors, bike guys want you through. Keep going pal. As a side note look at the Triumph Bonneville range or similar. Trust me set back pegs hurt knees! We are of an age! Keep safe. I’m knocking on at 60 years old.
Hi there, im in the same boat as you. I’ve had a 125 since March done over 2k on mine (love it). Do want to get my mod 1 + 2 done…. Just really nervous about a 600/650 learning and getting used to it. Just need to do my theory over Christmas and I’m ok to learn. Find your videos really entertaining and interesting, I wish I’d have had this 12 months ago when I did my CBT 😎👍🏻
Good luck for Tuesday. Im doing my theory test that day, I got the app you used. It is great except for the last lot of hazard videos where i had problems with the resolution on my tablet, just couldnt see in the distance im sure it will be alright on the day on a larger screen.
Noticed your wearing warmer textiles ideal when the weather starts to get a bit colder if your fingers start hands start getting cold consider heated grips & tuck your gloves under your sleeves if you can it,ll stop the rain running in your gloves good luck with the mod 1
Excellent update. Can really see the difference in your riding. Loads more confidence in yourself, better road positioning and smoother all round. Out of interest, what if any intercom do you have?
52 years young and did my CBT in August 24 and DAS in September 24. I was more nervous about the Mod 1 test than Mod 2. Now riding a KTM 990 Duke and have also got a Suzuki SV650 So much nicer having a more powerful bike. Lots of duel carriage ways where I am and felt unsafe on the 125.
Hi Andy good to hear you’re going for your mod one good luck, what made me smile was when you said ya bike was doing 7000 rpm at 51 mph not taking the mick or anything like that, when you get a litre bike 7000 rpm is half way to light speed , have you ever seen Star Wars the original when Han Solo goes to light speed, it’s like that 😂😂😂 hope you pass soon best of luck to you both.
So this is an opportunity for you to share some of your biking knowledge with a fellow biker...... my 1000SX came with a quad lock phone mount as standard. However, it's mounted so the phone is vertical and I can't work out how to make it horizontal.
Not sure. Let me have a look
Hopefully someone else will see this who knows
You just push the lever (blue) down and rotate it to the horizontal.
Great video and good to see you on a Friday evening. I am 6’3” actually but I’m almost 2st worth of kebab heavier than you so I’d be down at 35mph 😂. I can’t wait to see you get up to a bigger bike.

We have been watching her channel for some time now, yes she's brilliant!
Congratulations! Thanks for this. I will take a look
Nice one, it's really an amazing feeling isn't it? I was more excited about passing my bike licence then I was for my car, any way safe riding 👍
I recommend her channel also, very clear instructions, she's a great teacher
@@michaelrouchy7943 it is :) I’ve been riding almost 10 years on 125 so it’s nice to finally have more power
I cannot wait to see your face after half an hour on a big bike, your gonna be smiling from ear to ear I promise you
😎😎

Yup 80 - 20 front to rear but tbh I rarely use my rear brake
I just want to say your videos have really helped my on my journey from passing my cbt

Thanks for the reminder about the bike show at the NEC, I normally realise too late so I might see if I can get in this Saturday or Sunday
Have fun!

Hi. Thanks for watching and it seems a sensible idea to me 👍👍

Nice choice for a 1st bike. Have fun!
Interesting watching you progress, good stuff. I don't understand why so much riding gear is black! don't use a jet wash on your bike unless you are just blowing it over, it forces water into places you don't want water. Ride safe
👍👍👍
Best comment here from Simon. Jet washes force water into switchgear and wheel bearings, not good.
Very interesting following your motorcycle journey & all the tests & procedures.
I'm 57 & have been riding 40 years, your little 125cc wouldn't look out of place next to my XV950 BOLT.
Only one thing I'm going to say is use your front brake more. 👍

Yep, that front brake is your friend, especially when needing to stop in a hurry
The great thing about wearing a reflective vest is that as you go on rides and start to accumulate patches you can sew them to it and just change the vest from your winter to summer gear.
Great tip!
You’ve got this in the bag Andy iam sure you’ll be fine mate…goodluck👍🏻

Keep up the great work Andrew.
Claire you crack us up. You're a great double act. 😂😂😂
Thank you 😁
Haven't used your front brake much?? That's your most effective brake. Rear brake is good for very slow riding control but the front is where the slowing is done as weight transfers to the front tyre.
He's most likely still using 4 fingers, I didn't switch to 2 fingers brake till I lowsided after a jump.
Yes exactly what I'm thinking 😮
Front brake, combined with back brake to stop from speed. Learn how to stop from speed without having the front dive when you actually come to a full stop (bird pecking) it’s all about releasing the brake pressures smoothly and at slightly different times.
Back brake only for slow manoeuvres and also coming to a stop when turning at very slow speeds for example as you turn into something like a parking spot (don’t ever grab a handful of the front when your bars are turned)
Back brake has its uses in higher speed riding. But I won’t go into that here as it is not for beginner riders as it can have big consequences if you don’t know what you’re doing and get it wrong.
As a beginner rider (and any rider tbf) it’s all about being super smooth and not choppy on either the throttle or brakes. And learning/understanding the grip and physics involved with bikes.
On these newer bikes the front and back are linked now.
Fingers n toes crossed bud, Bon chance moi ami look forward to the decision making bit when your sorted exciting times. ….. Pete 🇫🇷
Thanks Pete
Good video again I enjoyed it, your delivery getting more confident and a better rider, I think you will be ok when you take your test. Well done
Thanks 👍
Sorry it should have said definitely my phone changed it. Good luck with your test 👍
Good luck for next week , I remember my bike test way back, I had a 600 waiting at home prepped and ready to go, 2 weeks later I was on an R1 Marlboro, that's when I learned counter steer , it was a life saver
Hi Jeff 👍
' Counter steering ' indeed ! although some bikers struggle to understand how steering the opposite direction to the corner and the lean makes sense, but it does ! ⬅️➡️ 👍
you are going to love getting on a big bike.. i cant wait for the video
You and me both!
Pinlock has a little adjustment built into the two pins, by rotating they enable the pinlock visor to sit close to the main visor.
Thanks 👍👍
Hi. Thanks for watching and sharing your story. Great bike 👍
My husband is shouting ‘let it out’ and ‘good blat’ at the telly. You’ve awaken something in him now!! Look what you’re doing to wives across the land!! 😂😂
Claire here. We need a wife’s club 😂👍
Brilliant video. Loved the journey to Squires especially when you went through our home village of Ackworth. Good luck with mod 1 👍
Thank you! Have a great evening
Great job, both of you, and in the spring, Claire will be joining you 😂👍👍
Thanks for this and a big thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Another cracking video. You're only one step behind me, I just passed my MOD 1 up in Carlisle this Monday just gone (first attempt).
I was a bit alarmed when my instructor said I would only be needing one days practice a couple of days before the test. But you'll soon realise after a full days riding on a big bike that really that's all you need. When my mate was telling me that riding is much easier and controlled on a bigger bike, I couldn't get my head around it, but now that I've experienced it I completely get it now.
All the best with your test. I look forward to seeing the next video. Jamie.
Hi. This is great advice
Ride safe.
This is good advice 👍 Thanks
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience, good luck
Thanks for watching!
Good luck Andy your looking very smooth and confident on the road
Thanks 👍
Youve got this Andy. Perfect timing with the mod 1 test coming up. Youll love a bigger bike. So much more road presence.
Can't wait!
Best of luck mate. Looking forward to the big bike content 👌
You and me both!
Keep it up, you're doing great 👍, I'm 52 yrs young and just passed my Mod 2 DAS this week, absolutely had a blast. Now working out what and when to get next. Good luck🤞
Congratulations 👍
At the end of the video you talk about test riding different bikes. I would strongly recommend you do, take your time and ride as many different styles of bike from as many different manufacturers as you can. It used to be easy when I started out, insurance was a rider policy which meant you were insured not the specific bike so we used be able to have a go on each others bikes and still be fully insured, so swapping bikes to have a go was quite common. You will be surprised how different seemingly very similar bikes can feel and perform. Good luck with the mod 1.
Hi. My plan is to do that as I want to be sure the style of bike I get is right for me 👍
Exciting days ahead… Good luck for next week.
My first (and current bike) is a 2016 bonneville T100 which I absolutely love… Lots of torque and very cool looking imo.
Lovely bike 👍👍
Well, you’ve definitely made it into the world of motorcycling! I was watching TH-cam videos on the British Superbike Championship & the IOM TT & you guys popped up as the next, recommended video. You had better get these tests passed first time now that you’re in such esteemed company.😊
This is awesome! Have you been to TT races?
If you have a motorcycle dealer in every town in the UK it's not surprising that so many are closing now. The UK has the least amount of motorcycles per capita in Europe. I hope yours will stay. Ride safely!
Hi. Didn’t know this fact. Thanks for watching
Good luck with the Mod 1, just enjoy it. Looking forward to the next video. All the best Mike.
Thanks Mike 👍
Good luck on your test Andy 👍👍👍
Thank you
Loved your video!
😁😁
Good ride you’ll be touring next
Living the biker dream and the best way to learn is to ride with a mate who’s not trying to show off but to help you
Keep it going 🫡
Absolutely! Thank you
So good Andy to see your confidence ramping up. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your kind comment
Love this you are so funny my hubby is a biker and has always been into Triumph bikes and he loves them but you are making me think maybe 😳 I could have a go on a bike like yours 🤗 thanks both x
Hi Lynn, Claire here…. This is what I am thinking 😬😬👍👍
Let’s do it Claire what’s the worst that could happen 🤨x
Good luck on your MoD1 Andrew. Great informative vlog things look and feel like they’re moving on at a steady pace. Claire still looks happy that’s the main thing 😊
Thanks 👍
Well done you. Practice makes perfect. You won’t know yourself when you get on a bigger bike. Better handling, and power to get away from all the knobs who drive cars, safely of course. Keep up the good work and ride safe ✊👏👏
Thankyou 👍
Another brilliant watch, I'm on a similar journey to you , i ve passed my module two today in Rotherham with only 1 minor fault, i am 46 6ft 4 and looking forward to having a bike more suited to my frame 😂
This is great news. Congratulations 👍👍👍
Great spin Andy. You're enjoying it ! You spoke about high viz jacket..... look at helite jacket (airbag vest.) Clare will be happy if you have one. Its expensive but a life saver. You can even get them in black. Ive got one and I bought one for my son.
I will take a look at these. Thank you
Yeah, the helite vests are great peace of mind, I have a black tethered version for warmer weather and have the rst paragon 6 jacket with the in&motion non-tethered airbag system, but that has a monthly subscription, but is a nice warm waterproof jacket.
It worth getting a paddock stand and bobbins as the stand can be used on any future bikes you get
Definitely👍
Good luck and am enjoying your adventures into the biking world.
Thank you!
Good luck Andrew with your test , I’m sure you will smash it 👍✊✊
Fingers crossed!
Sounds great 👍
Great stuff Andy, you could always get some panniers to put your butties in, either that or a top box which you could put your helmet in when you park up if needed. Used to love going to the bike show, so many lovely bikes but never enough money, lol
👍👍
So much to comment on!
1) not gonna discuss the bike stuff, not done my CBT yet :(
2) Quadlock - look out for a brand called Fidlock, just as good but cheaper and easier to use (although, i'm talking pedal bikes, not sure if they've broken into the motorbike market yet)
3) Pontifract cakes. Nuff said.
4) Brassed off - you are the second person I've heard mention this superb film since I saw it.. back in the late 90s. More people need to watch it! (Pete Postlethwaite really was one of our finest actors!)
loving these videos and good luck with the Mod 1
Good luck with the CBT 🎺
Loving watching you going through your paces with the bike
More to come! Glad you enjoy
Another enjoyable video.
Good luck with the test, have a look at the mid size adventure style bikes at the bike show, they could be a good bike to move up to.
Thanks for the tips!
Good luck on the Mod1, I'm sure you'll smash it. Remember the examiner wants you to pass, he's not looking to fail you.
Thank you 🤩
Wish someone had told my examiner that...
Wishing you the best on your new journey. Enjoy and ride safe 👍
When I first went on a big 600cc bike as a learner I came off and didn't want to go out anymore on my 125. Big bikes spoil you rotten. When I passed my test I bought a Triumph 900 street scrambler. The best transition bike ever!
Awesome bike 👍
Love it! Good luck for Monday & Tuesday!
Hope you're doing a vlog at the Bike show? Love the NEC too, but this shows tickets are quite a difference to the Caravan & Motorhome ones 😳 😅 x
Yes we definitely are!! 👍👍
Hi mate, me and my girlfriend have been watching as she did her CBT around the same time as you after being my back pack for a while, love what your doing and really enjoying your journey to your license, good luck with the mod 1, you got this 👍
Good luck to your girlfriend 👍👍👍
Enjoy the upgrade of the "big bike"you will definitely be smiling after the first 15 minutes of getting used to it .From what i have seen of you doing your manoeuvres on the 125 the mod 1 ahould not be too much of a problem take in as much knowledge as you can from your instructor and fingers crossed Tuesday's test should be in the bag good luck 👍
Thanks for this 👍👍
When you get the chance get yourself out & wring it's neck you might see 60mph, watch out for that tunnel vision tho 😂 good video, it's been years since I was at Squires, good luck on the Mod1, when you do get onto bigger bikes you will realise how the power is your friend.
Thanks for this 👍
My Yamaha YS125 can do 60mph, so long as I’m going down hill 😂
Wishing you all the best for the test.
Fingers crossed!
Good luck with mod 1 and start practicing using your front brake. Can’t do without it on big bikes 👍
Thanks 👍
Well done...made us smile!
Loved seeing you ride through our village of Ackworth and where we live now in Haribo Land!!
We love Squires and regular visit there...nice Sunday carvery!😋
Carry on enjoying your ride...51mph ain't so bad!😅 xx
Hi 👋 Thanks for watching
Looking forward to seeing which bike you choose next
👍👍👍😎
Good luck with Mod1 mate. Starting mine in March. My Lambretta is due it's first service soon.
👍
I passed my category a full licence on the 5th of this month 🙌, I will say that when you pass the test on the email the dvsa send you it will say congratulations on passing you euam2 thats nothing to worry about as I did! 😅
EU- entitled to ride in the eu,
A- cat A full licence,
M- module,
2- module 2
I thought at first I'd done the wrong test 😅
😂😂😂😂 congrats on the pass 👍
Nothing scream like "I need a new bike" than chasing a mate on a full throttle, while he's breaking a record on low fuel consumption :D
😂😂😂😂 exactly !
Cant wait till you ride a larger motorcycle it’s the best feeling in the world totally addictive
Hi. Thanks for watching and this advice, it is appreciated 👍👍👍
Good luck for Tuesday!!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks for the tips!
I used to go to Squires Cafe in the early to mid 1980's, at that time it was in the middle of Sherburn-in-Elmet village, it was so popular that it had three carparks in the village. I've never been to the current Squires, I will address that next summer.
See you there!! 😂😂
Good luck with mod 1! Go for it!
👍
On Amazon there's a roller called Groller. Your rear wheel sits on this whilst on a side stand and you can manually turn your wheel by hand whilst scrubbing or oiling your chain
Sounds great, thanks
Great watching your progress. Best wishes to you both!
Thanks so much!
Love hearing about your experiences on the keeway, I have the same bike, only issue Iv experienced with it is the ignition switch sticks sometimes
Hi. Thanks for watching. I don’t experience this. Safe travels
Thanks for sharing.
Hi. Thanks for watching our videos.
I’m a guitar and bike man 👍
I’ve had every variation of the Quadlock but I actually bought the same Amazon copy as yourself last week and I couldn’t believe the quality! The only difference is i change the blue tab to a black one but definitely a bargain
Agreed 👍
In my student days, I had a great friend from Pontefract and she was a biker too. Your bike did quite well really, (for a 125, obviously nothing wrong with it) and so did you. Best of luck with your Mod 1 stuff, you won't need it though.
Hi. Thanks for watching
Looking forward to seeing the different bikes you're going to look at. I wonder if you might opt for a larger cruiser? Most bike brands all do them , very much like harleys... without the price tag.
👍👍
Good luck with your mod 1.
When I spoke to the instructor, after passing my mod 1, he told me the biggest fail by far is the U-TURN.
Practice as many times as you can , between two curbs on a quiet road somewhere during lessons & prior to test 👍
Good advice, thanks
Just to add to this, my instructor had me doing u turns on a tighter street, so when I came to do my u turn on the mod 1 (which is 7.7m width) it felt like I had all the room in the world to do it.
GL for your MOD 1, I have to do my CBT again as it is almost out of date before I can do my MOD 1 again, that is booked for 20th. Good Luck and I look forward to the next installment
Hi. Thanks for watching. When will you do your CBT?
@@bikerofatlantis renew CBT on 20th Nov
The old A1, the Great North Road. Go to Squires on evenings in summer & you'll struggle to park your bike, it gets pretty busy. Once you've pass your test the 125 will be traded in, we've all been there 😀
👍👍👍
Most learner bikes have proportional braking on the rear lever combining front and rear brakes to prevent skiding accidents. Probably best getting used to applying the front brake manually before getting on the Bigger bikes. Best of luck. Nice one!
Thanks 👍
I passed my test on a Lambretta 150 in the days when you just drove round the block with the examiner watching from the corner. More than 50 years on, my bike is much bigger, but I wouldn't fancy doing a manoeuvring test on it.
I don't like riding with other people - I prefer to focus on my riding without worrying about where the other people are. Perhaps I'm just anti-social 😊
Hi 👋 Thanks for watching
You will love the bigger bike, definitely feel more planted to the road
Hope so!
I like the Bonneville bikes 👍
It’s just past your 1 year bike anniversary
It is Andy. Loving it. On a T100 which suits.
Go for it! Let me know how you get on 👍
Good luck for Tuesday. Im doing my theory test that day, I got the app you used. It is great except for the last lot of hazard videos where i had problems with the resolution on my tablet, just couldnt see in the distance im sure it will be alright on the day on a larger screen.
Good luck to you too. Let me know how you get on 🤞
Noticed your wearing warmer textiles ideal when the weather starts to get a bit colder if your fingers start hands start getting cold consider heated grips & tuck your gloves under your sleeves if you can it,ll stop the rain running in your gloves
good luck with the mod 1
Sounds good 👍👍
Good luck with the next stage Andy. Perhaps it’s time to join a club 👍
Yes 👍
Excellent update. Can really see the difference in your riding. Loads more confidence in yourself, better road positioning and smoother all round. Out of interest, what if any intercom do you have?
Thanks for this, no intercom. That’s a future upgrade 👍👍😂😂
52 years young and did my CBT in August 24 and DAS in September 24. I was more nervous about the Mod 1 test than Mod 2.
Now riding a KTM 990 Duke and have also got a Suzuki SV650
So much nicer having a more powerful bike. Lots of duel carriage ways where I am and felt unsafe on the 125.
Hi. Happy riding 👍👍
Good luck Andy - nowt wrong wi Grimey - that's where my Dad was from. Get to Matlock Bath when you get the 1200 (you know where it is).
Sounds like a plan to me 👍
Good luck on your mod1.
A nice 600 is a good 1st “big bike”. Quick enough on the dual carriageways but still nimble around town
All the best.
Thanks for the tips!👍
Ooh Andrew good luck squire, not long until your a total “Bad Ass” be safe Jan🏍👍
😎😎
Hi Andy good to hear you’re going for your mod one good luck, what made me smile was when you said ya bike was doing 7000 rpm at 51 mph not taking the mick or anything like that, when you get a litre bike 7000 rpm is half way to light speed , have you ever seen Star Wars the original when Han Solo goes to light speed, it’s like that 😂😂😂 hope you pass soon best of luck to you both.
Thanks 👍
