    The US sees Ukraine as mostly a European problem. I don’t believe they see Taiwan in that same vein.

      US will fight for Taiwan?? put boots on the ground?? but Biden just said there is only one China and he supports Xi Jing Ping's "One China Policy"

    • @TheLocoUnion
      @TheLocoUnion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TsarOfRuss The US always plays mental games with China over this issue. Biden also stated the US would protect Taiwan …. It’s all a game. He’s not the first administration to do this. Keep in mind, the war has already begun (brinksmanship). To be sure, war is the last thing the US wants.
      It will have little choice in the matter. It’s all up to Xi JinPing at this point. Taiwan is a tech powerhouse, if China gets its hands on it… it’s lights out to the US.
      It’s not what the US wants, it’s what they will have little choice about. If the US does nothing here, it will be attacked from all over the globe by enemy forces who will see it as weak. Who knows, maybe it is weak , but in any event to falter here is to give the enemies of America reason to move against us …. We know North Korea is watching…. We know…. Russia is watching…. We know terrorists are watching. I hope we don’t see war…. I feel China will keep bloviating… but if China continues to advance technologically as they have, nothing will stop their attempt at Taiwan. The US will not be alone… India, Australia and Japan will join in. When they do, hopefully China will back down. There’s really nothing in it here for them.
      Hopefully none of this materializes.

    It's for these reasons that I think China will try to wait till it has new pipelines from Russia. After all Europe has essentially freed the supplies that previously would have fueled the European nations

    • @dilligafwoftam985

      This will take years. Russia has a very short season where oil pipeline construction can take place. Most of Russia's oil fields are located on ground that has permafrost. Six months of the year, you can't put heavy equipment on it. In the meantime, the developed world is steadily becoming oil independent and moving off of oil and coal as their primary energy fuels.

China is too much of a one horse wonder. Basically, a people who work like dogs for money. India needs to be internally resilient, democratic and financially innovative. India can easily cut off the oil shipments from the Middle East since tankers have to transverse a large portion of the Indian coast. Or any country with destroyers or submarines can cut off energy and other raw materials by parking their ships in the Strait of Malacca. Not to mention the exports that China sends out through this area. The US can also cut off their access to banking systems and USD. That would destroy their economy because the CNY is not a traded currency and no one wants it. They are vulnerable on so many ways.

      China is the largest trading partner of most of the world, so they're not as weak as you think. Also, 90% of lithium batteries are produced in China meaning electric car industry will have a challenge. Over 75% of world's rare earth metal is produced by China, Japan's industry will suffer. Saudi Arabia's export etc. Sanctioning China is very difficult, it's the richest country by PPP, so it's a tricky dilemma. Cutting dem off the USD affects both the USD and CNY. USD demand will fall rapidly, causing an economic crises in US. There's no possibility of any country waging a war with China. The cost to the world is too much. Inflation will be super crazy. It's not worth it. Every country needs China directly or indirectly. They're important to world trade.

    The Chinese share a very very long border - over 1,700 miles (2,700Kms) with the Russians. Given how close the Americans have pushed the Chinese and Russians, all OPEC+ oil imports to China could be replaced with Russian oil almost immediately ( as current events in Ukraine show ). If the Taiwan issue ever became a military one and the Americans blocked the Malacca Straits, the Russians could replace Saudi oil in its entirety, even if that meant telling the Indians, there will be temporary disruptions in Russian oil to India. The Malacca blockade would hurt Japan, Indonesia and Australia among others more than the Chinese, I believe. Maybe this is why the West wishes to destroy Russia - just so the Chinese can no longer have a trusted friend to their north and west - the unfortunate Ukrainians are merely pawns in the greater American global chess gambit. One thing is sure; whatever happens in Ukraine and/or Taiwan, many, many people are going to die before it stops, I think.

    Climate is often defined loosely as the average weather at a particular place, incorporating such features as temperature, precipitation, humidity, and windiness. A more specific definition would state that climate is the mean state and variability of these features over some extended time period. Both definitions acknowledge that the weather is always changing, owing to instabilities in the atmosphere. And as weather varies from day to day, so too does climate vary, from daily day-and-night cycles up to periods of geologic time hundreds of millions of years long. In a very real sense, climate variation is a redundant expression-climate is always varying. No two years are exactly alike, nor are any two decades, any two centuries, or any two millennia.

    With the completion of the China-Myanmar pipeline project, three strategic crude import inland channels have been formed and situated in the Northwest, Northeast and Southwest. In the Northwest channel, there is the China-Kazakhstan pipeline project and the Middle Asia natural gas pipeline project; in the Northwest channel, the China-Russia crude and gas pipeline; and in the Southwest channel, the China-Myanmar crude and gas pipeline.
    Meanwhile rail transport is also an important supplement of marine transportation and pipeline transportation. And the volume of oil that can be moved by rail is miniscule. If China is reduced to BRI road and rail transport of crude oil... they're done. It's that simple. There are not enough trucks and tankers in the world to replace the volume of crude needed.

    As an independent, I agree about the Chinese strategic vulnerability with regard to the three choke points i.e straits and one of the core component of BRI i.e CPEC has lost much steam as it was put on the back burner due to pressure from US/IMF/FATF, BUT : Choking these points is counter-productive as these straits carry a significant volume of global water trade shipments and not just oil, plus choking the cheap mass manufacturing hub of the world would send other economies into inflation/recession including USA/India, plus China has surpassed the US Navy in terms of Navy ships ( if not technological superiority), plus if the Chinese pull out of all their investments in the US, it would literally crash the global financial system. Even though their internal oil reserves are only 1.5 percent of global standing, its sure are sufficient for the PLA to engage adversaries vis-a-vis choke points I.e straits. Recently they also found huge reserves in Xinjiang and plan to invest over 400 Billion dollars in Iran, and also Russia is planning to build a second Siberian oil pipeline. So India should stop pinning hopes of USA & allies going ahead with this plan against because it will even backfire for QUAD, especially India, both economically as well as military! And Uncle Sam ain't that stupid by the way! Just redeployment of all it's formations towards China some time back was one hell of an exercise alongside the global exercise drill. And according to independent groups, many war games simulations on US China stand off about Taiwan showed that US would suffer heavily and not accomplish its major war objects! Having said so, quite interestingly, the US and European allies to a Russian military assault in an more of economic-less of military way to contain the conflict, but the Western powers are gearing up their presence/maritime water/air exercises in the Indo-Pacific thus responding to the economic powerhouse in more of a military approach with Russian Navy too incoming in the region. Good to see India keeping temperatures down, despite joing Indian US exercises in LAC. The Chinese are watching the situation closely, and I hope the Armed Forces of Pakistan are as well, just in case things head north, because this emerging standoff if flashed will have many hard hitting pre-during-post fall out implications for the world, especially Pakistan, for which we must be prepared! I think the subject might have come up for discussion during the recent meeting between Pak COAS and US Centcom Commander, though nothing official was shared with Media in this regard! The MOF did issue a statement though prior to that!
    So next time, you might want to include the input of some war strategist before coming up with such counter productive theories!

    Of course, China can be blocked from the oil market. Wouldn't be such a good idea though. The examples shown in the video are from a time when there were no tactical nuclear weapons. In addition, China is the world's factory, sanctioning it alone would plunge the world economy into unprecedented chaos. It's because the world has become so dependent on imports, more than it ever was. So it would be very funny to watch if someone really came up with such a snap idea.
