- It's a huge risk but the potential is high to unlock a rich underwater gold mine in an historic gold bearing area of the Tasmanian wilderness. Finding the ground where the rivers bedrock acts like a natural sluice is all part of the search combined with a rich gold bearing geology. That little side creek at 13:10 is insane. I’ve got a side creek at my place that has white rocks and the main creek has black rocks, the confluence is wicked, like marble cake.

Gold can only be found if it's there. The fact that you are out there looking for it is your testimony and when you do come across the yellow shiny bits, then your journey becomes worth the effort. BEHOLD!!! Think about this. It never ceases to amaze me how you can get all of the following into one pack: a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, shovel, food, jetboil, fuel, shovel, snuffer bottle, eating utensils, pick, mask, snorkel, ALL of your recording equipment/cameras/batteries/chargers, a full wetsuit in what looks to be either 5mm or 7mm, AND a DRONE!!! How in the world do you find anymore room to stash all the GOLD you find 😆??? Major KUDOS and mad respect on your setup and diligence. WELL DONE!!

Agreed, you need a machete for that brush, even a light short one. A sugar cane knife with a hook would be perfect, very packable.

That was beautiful footage of the quartz undulating in the bedrock, where there should have been Gold. Maybe it's still 1000's of years away from releasing it. You found the Gold where another added waterflow together with the created Oxygen bubbles decomposed similar looking bedrock and quartz to what we saw at the beginning. Just observing. Great haul for hard, dangerous work.

Hey Levi, as a rule, look for the spots where the surface of the water is glassy and smooth directly adjacent to spots where the waters surface is rough and choppy and take a peek at the margin between. Take where you got that teardrop bit for example.

Yknow it's interesting that the good gold showed up in that fast water with a dead spot right next to it, I've noticed that can be a good sign for chunky gold. And man sometimes those parallel crevices are just loaded! Thanks for the video Levi, i always enjoy em
