- -Powers & Leveling-
You will be using Throw and Warp (and Liara's Stasis) for 99% of your kills throughout this game. Energy Drain is also very helpful for survivability and quickly draining shields.
Max out Warp, Throw and Biotic Mastery first
For Warp rank 4 choose Detonate (bottom), rank 5 Expose (bottom), rank 6 Pierce (top)
For Throw rank 4 choose Force (top), rank 5 Detonate (top), rank 6 Double Throw (top)
For Biotic Mastery rank 4 choose Damage & Force (top), rank 5 Damage & Capacity (bottom), rank 6 Power Mastery (bottom)
For Energy Drain (which is unlocked by talking to Tali repeatedly) rank 4 choose Damage (top), rank 5 Drain (top), rank 6 Armor Boost (bottom)
For Fitness rank 4 choose Durability (bottom), rank 5 choose Barrier Recharge (bottom), rank 6 choose Fitness Expert (bottom)
Put 1 point into Pull to quickly pull shields away from Cerberus Centurions (Liara's stasis also makes them drop their shields)
You won't be using Shockwave, Singularity, Pull, or Cluster Grenades very much (if at all), so spec those out however you like.
-Squadmates-
Liara! Max out her Stasis as quickly as possible.
Stasis rank 4 choose Stasis Strength (bottom), rank 5 choose Recharge Speed (bottom), rank 6 choose Bubble
Pure Biotic rank 4 choose Recharge Speed (top), rank 5 choose Duration & Force (bottom), rank 6 choose Squad Bonus (top)
PUT NO POINTS INTO WARP OR SINGULARITY! You are going to rely on her Stasis pretty heavily, and you don't want her using powers and killing the cooldown (yes I know there's a setting to change this, but I want the second squadmate to use their powers at will). To get 0 points in Singularity, reset her powers in the Med Bay on the Normandy.
Use whoever you like for the second squadmate. I will be using Javik (when I can) simply for the extra Biotic detonations.

Great guide! Your build for Liara (by far the most useful squad mate) is quite unique. And you're so right about the game's AI being goofy at times.
Kaidan and Javik are just as useful to me. Reave can primer multiple targets. when you upgrade the radius of effect. Dark Channel bypasses all defenses and spreads to new targets.

Man, I'm glad I decided to look up tips before trying to play through with an Adept. I'm actually tempted to play on Insanity.
A few corrections on biotic detonations (from the devs):
Combo damage is seperate from ability damage. If you detonate with warp, it does warp damage, THEN combo damage.
Combo damage is based on rank of both setup power and detonate power.
Combo is affected by combo boosters from both the setup and detonating power (so warp + throw specced for combos for both would get 100% force and damage).
Combo is NOT considered a power, and so is not affected by boosts that give straight % power damage.
Wow dude I'm going to replay the game with this set up. You just made the game more fun to play. No guns, all biotics.
ok, I am SERIOUSLY impressed with this build. I never would have though of just going in with a pistol, but damn, you take the stereotypical "Glass Cannon" concept and just ramp it up to epic proportions. I always kept my Adept's biotic use and gun use around 50/50, but I guess with the weight now affecting recharge time, you can have your Biotics as the gun.
Kaidan and Liara or Edi and Liara make a Sentinel or Adept Shepard godly. Detonate Overload with warp then detonate warp with throw or detonate incinerate with overload, detonate overload with warp then detonate warp with throw. Crazy.
i'm really confused with all the people stating they can chain cryo or fire combos with a follow up combo... unless you got patch 1.04 which is very recent and not available for pc it seems, you CANNOT chain fire or cryo combo, per many forum sources, such as this one:
Note: Enemy MUST be killed by the second power, in order to cause a Fire Explosion. E.G. it will not work, if an enemy is hit by Incinerate --> Overload, and still has HP left after that. So, in this case, Overload would have to do sufficient damage to outright kill a burning enemy, in order to cause a Fire Explosion.

How did you get stasis down to 4 seconds on liara? Mine is 9.23 just got her in my team imported my me2 save so I had enough to fill up stasis completely and biotic where it gives me recharge speed bonus.

I have a question, how in the world did you get Liara's Stasis to 4 second cooldown? Mine's on 8, I'm lv 49 but will simply gaining more levels also decrease the cooldown on every ability? If not I have no clue how, I took the same things and armor as you.
WHY Liara's stasis cooldown is 4.44 seconds? It is 8.89 in game right now with all possible improvements.
Have you tried stasis on your adept? If so then what's the cool down like?
If you're using stasis bubble you should've gotten the area force thing on throw in the the 4th upgrade, makes it so you can pretty much do insane damage to anything trapped in stasis including a large group, not just 2 guys
What's your singularity set up on this? Started to play adept after a almost a decade of playing soldier.
I love playing as an Adept. I just have my heavy pistol just in case...And nothing else just my biotic power.
I don't like to use tech powers with my adept characters. I'm dealing shields with weapons like Acolyte and Adas Synthetic Assault Rifle. I use Ashley as Squad mate against Cerberus because of her Squad Disruptor Ammo.
Robson Waterkemper I prefer to use garrus or someone with a heavy overload to take down the shields and then use an old trick from mass effect 2 where singularity takes priority as a trap card on the field!

I didn't see if you had another video about armor, I see your using the blood dragon armor is that just your preference or you think its better then the Inferno Armor?
What about Garrus or EDI for overload, takes of shields instantly, liaras stasys or singularity and then your throw - explosive

I did finish the game on insanity with adept (begin on lvl 1) but I didn't know the throw ability can deal so much damage, I'm ignore it and detonate them with my and Liara's warp
Use Liara's singularity instead of stasis for non-protected target. It is faster. For barrier or shield, use energy drain. Than use Liara's singularity and Javik's slam. Almost no recharge time.
7.3kg is more than the weight of the average-sized bowling ball. Have you ever been hit in the face with a bowling ball? I'll have you know, that can fracture bones. Hell, it can shatter them. Physics major here :P
So powers and all that are shown, but what about weapons? Should I just equip a good heavy pistol and that's it?

How is liara's stasis cool down only 4.44 sec? Mine is at 8.14 sec and I am a lvl 50 adept..please reply soon
I think she just has a built in faster recharge speed.
It also depens on the weight of the weapons
Ian Diederen Power recharge for squad mates are not influenced by weapons weight. Liara has a costume that increases her power recharge.

She has a build in her powers that increases Power Recharge speed. It's in her passive Pure Biotic. masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Pure_Biotic
Seeing as to the last comment was over a month ago, PLEASE someone help me, this is the best strategy I could find on an Adept playthrough and there's nothing else quite like this. =/

Even w/o Liara this game its ridicously easy , sadly ; ; i did a unarmed playthrough with vanguard i gived up at sur' kesh , i didnt even needed the squadmates. Even atrium on grissom's academy lasted like 2 mins ... bye bye learning curve on Vanguard.

Maxed out Throw does about as much as a professional boxer does when he punches.

@@amrkotb8410 if u play the game at a high level you can use different power and different combination of powers against enemies that are weak in particular ways. for its age it might have been insightful but in 2020 this is so bad.
