My go to is the infiltrator class. It's diverse, useful in all games, and absolutely devastating when using a sniper rifle. And I prefer to keep my enemies at a distance.
Sucks when you stealth on Insanity though, your squad mates die instantly in ME2 when you stealth, otherwise all the enemies fire at you and ignore your squadmates most of the time. Though stealth is awesome once all squad mates are done, cause you can use it to escape melee based enemies by escaping them and going to a new cover area while they just stand there waiting for your stealth to wear off.

I agree, but honestly, in ME3, it´s just way too easy to play. Once you get Energy Drain from Tali, you just aim your rifle, use ED (if they have shields at all), headshot, and the enemy is dead. When playing an Infiltrator, you honestly don´t even need any squadmates, both in ME2 and ME3. Your damage output is so high and so rapid, that most enemies are dead before they even fire at you. I eventually started to prefer classes that require a little bit more teamwork, like the Engineer or the Sentinel.
Fun fact nobody asked. I always go for Colonist Shepard when I play Infiltrator, this is cuz I like the idea that Colonist Shepard grew up sniping wild varren and killing prey to eat in the colony, so he refined his/her's marksmanship. I also like to romance Infiltrator femshep with Garrus.

Can I just say your voice reminds me of a calmer and more mature Sera from Dragon Age: Inquisition. No it’s not just the accent, it’s also the tone. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were her voice actor!
One of the best companions for the infiltrator is Wrex, as he provides close quarters support and tanking, both major weaknesses of the sniper style infiltrator.
These guides are great, I’ve beaten the trilogy more times than I can count on insanity and there’s pretty much nothing you miss. Also you sound like Sera from dragon age
I just meant the voice, not the dialect or personality. But after a recent replay I didn’t think she was that annoying, and I liked the perspective of the world she brought
I like the fact that each of the classes seem to have their own various strengths and weaknesses and how 3 of the classes are hybrid classes: Vanguard, Infiltrator, & Sentinel. While the other 3 classes are more designated classes: Soldier, Adept, & Engineer.
Rise up, indeed! Gotta admit, I like the Vanguard a tiny bit more than the Sentinel. But when I play the Sentinel I'm extremely aggressive! I love to spec my tech armour to maximize the explosive wave upon its destruction. First I semi-cautiously move in on my targets, softening them up with suppressive SMG fire and area/chain overload. I then charge and mop up the floor with the grunts that made my armour explode with (auto)shotguns, once they're flat on their asses. It really pairs well with a strong sniper ally and someone with biotic crowd control. So much fun! How do you like to play your Sentinel?
@@SidheKnight for my sentinel I ALWAYS pick warp ammo. Warp cuts through health, armor, and barriers. Sentinels have overload too to cut through shields easily.
My old Shepard was an infiltrator (will probably recreate her for legendary edition). My favourite combos from me3 was using crio ammo with the scorpion pistol. Freeze the enemy initially than straight afterwards they explode. So satisfying
These are the best videos covering the Mass Effect classes throughout the whole trilogy on TH-cam, I'm so excited to watch your Sentinel video as I'm trying to decide between Sentinel, Adept, or Engineer and the detailed videos I've found covering the Sentinel are only for Mass Effect 2 lol Edit: Also In Legendary Edition, the devs have said that immunity will have a stronger effect but you won't be able to have it up all the time anymore
YES! MY FAVORITE CLASS! I’ve watched your other class videos, so this got a like before the video even really started because I already knew how awesome it was going to be based on your previous work.
My favorite class, especially once the Lazarus Project adds in the cloak. Vanguard gets space boost. Engineer gets their own Chatika lol 😝. Infiltrator can cloak.
In me3 top 3 are energy drain, marksman (if using the indra or black widow), stasis (since you can damage them). All 3 of can and should be used within the cloak cause they'll borrow the recharge speed of the cloak, not the power, if you immediately fire
😂😂 I think you can blame Bioware and how awesome the ME: Legendary Edition is to play through multiple times. But I am glad your enjoying and finding the Class Guide videos helpful 😁👍
ME1 "sniper rifle" builds either use 2 High Explosive material X (for max damage), or use 2 Frictionless material X (for more follow up shots) this lets you to pick between a high-power single shot rifle which is basically the same thing as a 50BMG bolt action or a something more like a .308 AR10 SAPR style rifle. Or you could split the difference and use one of each and have a precision rifle .338 Lapua magum style rifle with lower 5-ish round capacity.🤷♂️
Damn I’m really torn between engineer and infiltrator. This class looks really fun but it would kill me to lose hacking which is my favorite skill. Decisions!! 🤔
You can play Engineer in ME1 and then change to Infiltrator in ME2 & 3, since in those games Infiltrators have Hacking (in ME3 it's called "Sabotage" but it's essentially AI Hacking + Decryption combined into one power). That is, if changing classes doesn't bother you. I don't like doing it, but the option exist.
@@Supernautiloid Dont forget that after you finish the game, you can play second time and get hacking as your bonus talent. So, you can play infiltrator with additional hacking. (I personally chose a biotic CC ability in order avoid fighting entire groups. => Infiltrator with Singularity is my favority BUT you can have there hacking if you love that skill on your second playthrough)
Engineer in 3 is god since not only they have a drone and overload they also s have a turret which can be deployed with the drone and can be upgraded to fire rockets or converted to a flamethrower
Since there is a maximum degree to which a sniper rifle can overheat, I stack rails and explosive ammo and just accept that it will overhead with each shot, turning it into a portable cannon. Some of the late game rifles with 2x scram rails and explosive ammo don't even overheat with each shot either, making them extremely powerful.
really bummed they took explosive ammo out, i used it for the first time in ME1 LE...with two cooling attachements..was able to get 3 shots off (well timed) w/out over heating...so devastating.
Finished my first run of the trilogy as soldier, then sentinel, then adept, and I must say adept was the most fun out oof the three. But on my second playthrough, having just finished me1 and a few hrs into me2, my god, infiltrator is so OP, it's great
My very first playthrough of Mass Effect consisted of: Engineer> Infiltrator> Engineer I actually plan to go all Infiltrator this playthrough with a pistol and assault rifle. The one thing I learned about myself with shooters early on is that I'm not a fan of seeing everything through a scope, so I'm ecstatic to give the Infiltrator another go around with what is going to be a great revamped version of Mass Effect 1.
Also with tactical cloak if you spec it right you can use a tech power and still get a shot off before it dissipates since it allows a delay after using a tech power. So imagine this combination; tactical cloak, sticky grenade, incinerate then sniper rifle shot with cryo ammo equipped
Ah infiltrator, went to this class after finishing ME1 as a sentinel in me2. Loved this class so much I picked it up again for ME3. Thing is... I didn't use the cloak too much lol. Usually used more of the ammos and incinerate.
My head-canon Shepard is FemShep who’s a infiltrator with biotics and John Wick style hand-to-hand and shooting skills. She also takes a gunpowder based (regular) shotgun loaded with shaped-charge (high explosive anti-tank) rounds as a “privately acquired personal defense weapon”, the low velocity rounds not activating personal kinetic barriers.
If you're curious about which shotgun to use, consider piranha for close up nuking. You can technically ignore sniper rifles altogether (works as soldier too) with the claymore shotgun, which fires slugs. If I remember correctly, there's also an interesting interaction with beam weapons such as the prothean particle rifle and collector particle sniper and tactical cloak where as long as you hold the trigger down and don't let go, the whole discharge gains the damage buff.
Everyone says Infiltrator is the best for sniping because of Tactical Cloak in ME2, but I disagree. I'm convinced the Adrenaline Rush's benefits allow the Soldier to do sniping just as good and even better than the Infiltrator -Infiltrator's Tactical Cloak gives up to +75% damage, Soldier's Adrenaline Rush gives up to +140% -Slow down time dilation? Adrenaline Rush goes up to 70% time dilation. Tactical cloak only 60% -Duration: Adrenaline Rush 5 secs, Tact. Cloak slow down ~2 secs -Adrenaline Rush does not go away after one shot, so Shepard can fire multiple shots on sniper rifles as opposed to Tactical Cloak's just one. -While in Adrenaline Rush, Shepard is theoretically moving at super speed compared to everyone else who is moving at normal speed. Tact. Cloak Shepard moves at normal speed. With all of that, it's almost clear that Adrenaline Rush is the better tool for sniping. The one aspect that Tactical Cloak has that Adrenaline Rush can't compare is the invisibility mechanic. However moving at faster speeds than everyone else while in Adrenaline Rush could be said more than makes up for this. Besides the Invisibility of Tactical Cloak, in all other comparable instances Adrenaline Rush > Tactical Cloak for damage, duration, time slow, and at times even shots fired. People keep forgetting or skimping on just how strong the Soldier's Adrenaline Rush ability is. The Soldier can snipe just as good and better than the Infiltrator. So for the sentiment "If you like sniping..." go Soldier. Infiltrator no doubt has it's merits (tech powers, invisibility). I'm just tired of people saying it's the best Sniping class when I know it isn't the case.
My infiltrator when I played because I did new game plus and I ran with the black widow you could buy at the specter terminal, avenger, the first pistol you start with (forgot the name), and the smg that was super accurate (again forgot the name). My weight was at 91% so I still had a very fast cool down.
This is my favorite class followed closely by Engineer. Being able to hack everything with Shepard is a big plus and something that wasn't mentioned in the video is being able to jump out of the Mako and engage enemies on foot for maximum damage. Infiltrator is extremely good at taking out Geth and Turrets. Even taking out Thresher Maws is somewhat easy with the Infiltrator in ME1. In ME3, Infiltrator becomes really good as there are wide range of weapons that can be used like Shotguns and ARs which are extremely satisfying with the Infiltrator.
Probably the best class throughout the entire trilogy. It was either the best class or tied for the best class in each game. In ME3, you could argue for any class being the best class, with the exception of soldier. The soldier took a small step back in that game.
I'd agree with this. IMO, Soldier was the best in ME1, but Infiltrator was a close 2nd (far ahead of the other classes). In ME2 it would again be either Soldier or Infiltrator. ME3 I have to give to Sentinel due to combo explosions, but once again Infiltrator is 2nd (possibly tied with Vanguard, Van is so fun in ME3). And yeah, Soldier sucked bad in ME3. Overall though, if you wanted to stick with one class for the whole trilogy, you can do a lot worse than Infiltrator 😄
@@ryanball8944 I'd give the Infiltrator a small edge in ME1 due to eliminating the need to bring a tech-based squadmate with you to open containers or hack mission terminals for assignments. Tech squadmates are rather squishy in ME1 due to lack of barrier or immunity and poor AI. In ME2, Infiltrator seems specifically made for Insanity runs, but if you have the DLC for the Mattock assault rifle, a Mattock-Widow Soldier run is stupidly easy. In ME3, if forced to choose I'd say Infiltrator was the best. Tactical Cloak is so good with shotguns and the Black Widow and you still have Incinerate and the Hacking/Sabotage skill. I've gone through Insanity practically untouched with Infiltrator. Vanguard is right behind for me but you occasionally take a hit, but that actually makes the class fun. Sentinel just has a ton of versatility and ways to build and play it. Engineer and Adept are in the mix but I find the power spam behind a barricade boring, particularly with Engineer since it has too many skills. I feel like Engineer is the only class on console that can't be effectively condensed down to three action abilities. Soldier suffers primarily by being unexciting after every class seems to have gotten a big boost in 3.
@@loganschenk3871 yeah I agree tech squaddies are squishy in ME1. Except Garrus, he's the 3rd tankiest party member. And honestly I've never added party members for damage because they're so poor at it. I generally run Liara and Garrus on ME1 for crowd support, but usually forget they're there. I'd give the edge to soldier in my opinion because after about halfway through assualt rifles trump everything else for DPS, and Soldiers are so tanky with heavy armour, increased health and regen, you're unkillable while having the highest DPS of any class. But Infiltrator is only slightly behind in offense and defense while having better burst damage I'm happy to give ME2 to Infiltrator. Hardened Adrenaline Rush Soldier needs none of the bonus weapons, but Widow gives outrageous burst damage and Revenant gives exceptional close range dps. But with the locust and widow, Infiltrator beats Soldier on Insanity. I have a Soldier bias for ME1 and 2, but the Infiltrator is objectively better on Insanity. I'd likely give it an edge on Hardcore too. ME3 I still have to give it to Sentinel by a pretty wide margin. Liara singularity and Shep throw going off every second just gives incredible dps, both single target and crowd. Slap a Harrier on him with Warp Ammo to cover your bases and everyone dies. Fast
I always loved playing the Infiltrator and, except for when I've challenged myself to play every class I always go back to it...The one reason I sometimes take up the Engineer on ME3 is to get the Paragon prompt during the Omega mission...
I wish all of the classes could have had special interrupts in the trilogy. That paragon interrupt for the Engineer class was pretty cool 😁 how do you like to play your infiltrator?
@@N7Kate I haven't upgraded to the Legendary edition where Sniper Rifles were modded to be more accurate, so in ME1 I ran mostly side missions until I had money enough to get a reasonably accurate Sniper Rifle...During a mission I let my team tank the damage while I stand off and flank the enemy when possible, sniping and healing the team...In ME2 and ME3 with the aiming improvements I REALLY stand back...If I can get the enemy in the scope I can drop them and it doesn't seem to matter how far off they are...Except for when it's relative close quarters I barely need a team and in those cases I'm hiding until the tactical cloak and running away...
I always considered the infiltrator as “canon Shepard”. Most missions are about infiltrating after all. Support role doesn’t fit to a leader character, and soldier is more like the “meat” of the battle, not the brain. Infiltrator is more like the “smart” elite soldier, who leads the team, and can resolve most situation on its own.
He seems definitely like a soldier. In cutscenes he (like everyone else, including Liara etc., I know) uses Assault rifles, his normal outfit is too big for an infiltrator and he usually is the front liner, the one going in first (yes he has stealth ship with cloaking mechanisms) BUT he is usually putting his life on the line, people are saying "there is this group and a lot of times he chooses going straight to them or fight, only things like Reapers etc. he chooses the infiltration because they are just too powerful - hes a soldier but not a dumbfuck and knows his limits. On a side note, every game seems to have a different tome. ME1 - Shepard is the special forces agent kinda (they just call it Specter) where he operates like a CIA agent would ME2 - Shepard is like some resistence movement leader that doesnt fit any class (some closed group that relies on science mostly) as its Shepard the Scientist ME3 - Shepard is pure polititian (he does pretty much all political stuff in ME3 in order to unite everyone) The profession that fits him most throughout the series is "polititian" where he always assembles teams, unifies people, makes peace (or kills the side he/she deems irrelevant/hurtful to the mission) and soldier against enemies fightable (like Geth, Rachni, Vorcha etc.) while being infiltrator against enemies he cant fight head on (Collectors and Reapers) So, Shepard is really something in between imo, for me closer to being a soldier because I think he would talk or fight the people responsible directly rather than infiltrate something BUT its not always possible and he/she understands that. Fun fact: I like being infiltrator in 1 (best talents all round the board, especially on second playthrough where you can add a biotic power) and then turning soldier in the other 2 games. AND I like to put there a story behind him. Shepard used to be a petty thief, common criminal in the streets so he enlisted into military where he became an infiltrator (stealth is what he did from young age as a thief) after a disaster on Yakuze where he was the solo survivor he started training more and becoming stronger and tougher, which is not yet present as much in Mass effect 1 but over the time it grows more and more evident that his talents have changed from infiltrator to soldier and in ME3 he isnt stealing, stealthing, infiltrating any longer, he will stand his ground against the reapers, live or die? He will be remembered as the best soldier in the galaxy or not at all. (Well that is my headcanon background for my Shep)
@@Dark_Voice You said he “seems like”. So where did you see it then?:) In game, if you play a soldier, he will definitely look like a soldier:D But that hardly proves any point…
In ME3, I always enjoyed maxing out head shot and weapon related damage and having the black widow and a nearly weightless smg to abuse tactical cloak. Taking down harvesters in insanity was hilarious.
The one class I suck at in every game, the sniper build. Though the shotgun infiltrator is pretty bad ass. But I do shot gun adepts, engineers, sentinels, obv vanguards, soldiers. Its all shot gun all the time.

little off topic, tho inflitrator is my favorite class cool vid i really want mass effect 4 to have all companions in a mission. classic ghost recon/republic commando style tactical combat. i would think ps5 gen that can handle 60 player battlefield matches should be able to run a dozen squadmates and 30 to 50 enemies at once. really open up the maps for exploration, with vehicles like the mako. maybe even organize fireteams like the collector base appointing a No. 2 to lead a group and give them an objective, or stay on the 'not normandy' and call them in later for extraction/back up. like real time xcom almost

I love these but I really wish you would have waited a few days to be able to highlight the build difference in the enhanced edition (yes they did rebalance some skills, especially passives)
My Favorite Class in ME2. Imo the strongest Class for its mainly mid to longrange Cover-shooting Gamestyle. + Incinerate ! In ME3 The Sniperrifle is still ok, but I heard many likes to use a shotgun and Cloaked+ Melee Combat .
I wish I had changed classes at the begging of ME3 in my legendary edition playthrough while I enjoyed being an Infiltrator in ME2 I've been struggling with it in ME3
Soldier is a good all rounder. Well balanced with range and mid to short weapons, soldiers rely more heavily on squad mates for crowd control or to strip shields (until the introduction of ammo types in ME2 and ME3). Vanguard is a very aggressive class, about getting up close in enemy faces and aggressive moves like charge to close the gap. Infiltrator is much more about providing support from range and using cloak to get out of tight spots and do increased damage while cloaked. 3 very different styles. I would suggest watching each of my videos to get a sense of them
@@N7Kate Thank you Kate, appreciate the detailed answer. In the meantime, I’ve watched both other videos, and I’m not that fan of vanguard. I will try playing for 1 hour with infiltrator and regular soldier to see which appeals the most to me
Im torn between engineer and soldier for a male shep run so ill play around bonus powers and see what hybrid build other than sniping cloaked assassin can be made from it. Like starting from Infiltrator and adding assault rifles whenever possible, and using the hacking and ammo types mainly from me 2 and on. I dont remember if ME 1 added a weapon type of your choosing when reaching a certain Spectre training, you had all weapons available in the original but with horrid accuracy and cooling for the ones untrained in, and ive read the remaster will lift some restrictions of types in the first game, gotta see how (maybe all weapon types trees available for all classes? Or just standard accuracy and cooling for each but with no upgradable stats)
In ME 1 you could unlock one additional skilltree branch through achievements. Either another Weapon or an additional Skill. Though Spectre training made other weapons slightly more viable too by giving a accuracy bonus.
Anybody who has played the ME3 multiplayer for a long while can tell you it's generally a good idea to use a power to break tactical cloak because: 1. the cooldown of the power is ignored (your global cooldown will only be tactical cloak) 2. you actually have the damage buff for a small duration, so you can immediately take a shot after using a power and still get bonus damage. With that in mind, Sabotage is one of the strongest secondary powers you can use with Infiltrator because it's an instant hit stun that lets you line up easy head shots. Cloak -> Sabotage -> Head shot.
Why there is no mention about the proportional cooldown of Tactical Cloak in ME3? It's the most crucial and one of the elementary factors about the class, and it has massive implications for all Infiltrator builds in ME3. A guide which doesn't break it down isn't really useful at all for ME3. [For those who don't know what that means. Tactical Cloak works like no other power in ME3. Tactical Cloak's has a nominal cooldown like all other powers, which is anything from 3 seconds minimum to 30 secs maximum depending on a load-out and how powers are specced. However the cooldown is proportional to how long you stay cloaked. If you wait till the duration ends (between 4 - 11.20 secs), then the cooldown will be the full 100% of that nominal time. However, if you break it earlier, it will be a percentage of that depending how long you were cloaked. The beauty is that if you break it immediately it will be always be that minimum of 3 seconds, regardless of Weight Allowance or anything else. Even with full loadout, so long as you break the cloak immediately you can recharge it in 3 seconds, and you get the full DMG bonus regardless (around 50-70%). It isn't only for the shot or power that breaks the cloak, but the bonus lingers for something like 2 or 2.5 secs (don't remember which it was). That means that Infiltrator can have that massive DMG bonus for 66-83% of times, as long as you don't use the Cloak for the cloaking effect. There's even more, because TC bypasses the universal cooldown mechanic. If you use some other power to break TC (let's say Incinerate), it won't use Incinerates cooldown, but instead TC's one. This means that Infiltrator can retain that 3 sec cooldowns, even with max. -200% Weight Allowance, as long as you keep that rhythm of cloak + power. The effect is most noticeable with something like Flare or Dominate, which have long default cooldowns. That's why weight basically doesn't matter at all for Infiltrators. You can still use your powers at lowest cooldown possible, and have weapons you want. Tradeoff is that you cannot utilize that invisibility, but why would want to? It's not a good defensible power, because you cannot do basically any DMG beyond Sticky Grenades while you are protected (which are worst of all Grenades and pretty meh by themselves). You might as well just hide behind hard cover, because the effect is basically same. There isn't much point of trying outflank or try getting into enemy rear, because you get no additional DMG bonuses or anything from it. The only benefit would be going around enemy cover, but even that is totally unnecessary, because armor piercing (which you should always have anyways. At least with hitscan weapons) let's you shoot through cover without leaving your own soft cover. Unlike flanking which takes time and exposes you. Incentives are perverse for cloaking, because more you are cloaked, less you get to have that massive DMG boost, which is the real benefit from TC. It's very situational and rare, when it's useful to use TC for cloaking. Like sometimes if you are about to die, and need to get into a new position asap, or couple special situations like certain objectives at multiplayer.]
Did you play ME2 modded? I only ask because the fact that you use Incinerate while Tac Cloak is on cooldown made me think you're either mixing up ME2 and ME:A or you play modded. Not a stab at you or anything, I've adored this series. Just something I noticed
First time playing a techy class (iv only started when LE was released, and have only played Soldier, Adept & Vanguard since.) Vanguard was easily my favorite class (and not boring at all unlike Soldier) but historically in any type of shooting or rpg game. Iv always played as a ranged cautious charecter. So i knew from the very beginning that this class would be instant romanced and honestly. Im about done with Me1 and im so glad i waited to play this class and give some of the others a try because now i can't imagine ever playing another class again.
Vanguards start off slow in ME1, but quickly become OP'ed by mid game. Imo the strongest class in the game, especially if you take your weapons specialty over biotic specialty. The run and run approach is a cheat code.
@@OpIvyPunk For infiltrator there is also passive bonus, 25% to 35%, it's significantly less noticeable than in previous game. However it's cumulative with weapon bonuses, so I guess Infiltrators get longer and slower time dilation bonus.

fool you think I would't take Tali and Garrus on EVERY mission no matter the squad balance and skills required ♥♥
Mass Effect 2 team Garrus and Tali
Mass Effect 3 team Garrus and Javik, except when I went to Asari home world, Mr Air lock and blue waifu is a must.
Well i look fwd to beating all the "who cares about the squad as long as i like them" folk when multiplayer comes round
Are you telling me there's people who don't use tali and garrus always?
@@ffadicto seeing how you have to wait 3 quarters of the game to get tali in me2 and me3 its a bit hard to pick her in your squad. I mean it'd be nice to see her dodging reaper legs and brutes on tuchanka but it aint gonna happen

Can I just say your voice reminds me of a calmer and more mature Sera from Dragon Age: Inquisition.
No it’s not just the accent, it’s also the tone. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were her voice actor!
Sam Traynor too
Right on, buddy.
One of the best companions for the infiltrator is Wrex, as he provides close quarters support and tanking, both major weaknesses of the sniper style infiltrator.
Exactly
These guides are great, I’ve beaten the trilogy more times than I can count on insanity and there’s pretty much nothing you miss. Also you sound like Sera from dragon age
Not sure that’s the greatest thing to be compare to, if I recalled, most people found her annoying
I just meant the voice, not the dialect or personality. But after a recent replay I didn’t think she was that annoying, and I liked the perspective of the world she brought
@@KageNoTenshi She has annoying moments, but is otherwise a nice character.
@@SidheKnight I agree her character isn’t a bad person, but I know many nice/good people who are very annoying, most mothers for example hahaha
I like the fact that each of the classes seem to have their own various strengths and weaknesses and how 3 of the classes are hybrid classes: Vanguard, Infiltrator, & Sentinel. While the other 3 classes are more designated classes: Soldier, Adept, & Engineer.
Saving the best for last… SENTINELS RISE UP!!!
@@CalamityCain Which bonus power do you take in ME2? I can't decide yet..
@@SidheKnight for my sentinel I ALWAYS pick warp ammo. Warp cuts through health, armor, and barriers. Sentinels have overload too to cut through shields easily.
I was sad that Sentinel was last until I saw this comment and it’s supporting likes. Sentinel has always been my favorite
**Sings** Who puts the Tech in Biotic... SENTINELS!
i love watching these class guides. you did a great job on them!
Thanks 😁
This is the class I beat the Mass Effect trilogy with.
I went full soldier and went through the whole trilogy on max difficulty
Low-key best class
I’m so glad that the sniper rifles have had that severe sway removed, life will be much easier
Vanguard for me. Feel like a Super hero with Biotic Charge
I love the sound of sniper in ME1. I wish, they upgrade the animation skill in ME1.
My old Shepard was an infiltrator (will probably recreate her for legendary edition). My favourite combos from me3 was using crio ammo with the scorpion pistol. Freeze the enemy initially than straight afterwards they explode. So satisfying
These are the best videos covering the Mass Effect classes throughout the whole trilogy on TH-cam, I'm so excited to watch your Sentinel video as I'm trying to decide between Sentinel, Adept, or Engineer and the detailed videos I've found covering the Sentinel are only for Mass Effect 2 lol
Edit: Also In Legendary Edition, the devs have said that immunity will have a stronger effect but you won't be able to have it up all the time anymore
This guide was so good and useful. The only thing I wish it had was timestamps in the description.
That's a great suggestion! I will add them in
YES! MY FAVORITE CLASS! I’ve watched your other class videos, so this got a like before the video even really started because I already knew how awesome it was going to be based on your previous work.
can you tell me which class is the best for playing with a controller? I am bad with the controller, but my hand is damaged :/
@@LaMartiniquee in 2 infiltrator and soldier felt really good. In 3 vanguard and sentinel were broken good
Cryo ammo is the unsung hero of the Infiltrator class. Crowd mitigation as you rain down frosty hell from on high!
I love cryo ammo! Especially when you combo it with incinerate or concussive shot. It just shatters them, very satisfying!
My favorite class, especially once the Lazarus Project adds in the cloak. Vanguard gets space boost. Engineer gets their own Chatika lol 😝. Infiltrator can cloak.
can you tell me which class is the best for playing with a controller? I am bad with the controller, but my hand is damaged :/
@@LaMartiniquee Probably Vanguard since they're trained in pistols and shotguns and can use biotic abilities
Being able to cloak and then set-up the perfect headshot, or get the hell out of dodge is a godsend.
Being an infiltrator turns the game into intergalactic duck hunt. And it's the best
The only thing missing from these guides are bonus power recommendations.
In me3 top 3 are energy drain, marksman (if using the indra or black widow), stasis (since you can damage them). All 3 of can and should be used within the cloak cause they'll borrow the recharge speed of the cloak, not the power, if you immediately fire
Head goes pop
Thank you for all the class-specific vids! They've been great! Very interesting and informative.

Man!
Yet killin me Kate.
All these class guides and I’m never going to stop playing ME LE.
I still haven’t played Elden Ring or CP77 yet🤦🏻♂️
😂😂 I think you can blame Bioware and how awesome the ME: Legendary Edition is to play through multiple times. But I am glad your enjoying and finding the Class Guide videos helpful 😁👍
Garrus and Shepherd, renegade snipers bros for life.
@@SidheKnight
Hmm that’s a good idea. I don’t mind switching classes so I just might do that. Thanks! 👍🏻
@@titanjakob1056 they were always the least interesting class but that sounds awesome
But on my second playthrough, having just finished me1 and a few hrs into me2, my god, infiltrator is so OP, it's great
My very first playthrough of Mass Effect consisted of: Engineer> Infiltrator> Engineer
I actually plan to go all Infiltrator this playthrough with a pistol and assault rifle.
Shotgun Infiltrator is pretty fun.
You can get an upgrade in the Normandy SR2 tech lab that will give an infiltrator biotic powers in ME2 this power will carry over to ME3.
Very concise and even taught me a few things even though I play as this class mainly. Love it!
Ah infiltrator, went to this class after finishing ME1 as a sentinel in me2. Loved this class so much I picked it up again for ME3. Thing is... I didn't use the cloak too much lol. Usually used more of the ammos and incinerate.
This is a very underrated TH-cam channel
Wow! Thanks for the kind words and support 😁 appreciate it 🙏
@@N7Kate anytime thanks for the guides
My head-canon Shepard is FemShep who’s a infiltrator with biotics and John Wick style hand-to-hand and shooting skills. She also takes a gunpowder based (regular) shotgun loaded with shaped-charge (high explosive anti-tank) rounds as a “privately acquired personal defense weapon”, the low velocity rounds not activating personal kinetic barriers.
Great video!! I can’t wait for your sentinel class!! That’s my go to every play through!!
Been waiting for this one. This is what I'll be using, atleast in the first game. Awesome video as always!!! 👍👍👍
If you're curious about which shotgun to use, consider piranha for close up nuking. You can technically ignore sniper rifles altogether (works as soldier too) with the claymore shotgun, which fires slugs.
If I remember correctly, there's also an interesting interaction with beam weapons such as the prothean particle rifle and collector particle sniper and tactical cloak where as long as you hold the trigger down and don't let go, the whole discharge gains the damage buff.
actual salarian voice for a tutorial video... the dedication deserves a sub. or it is yout normal voice idk either way good video
I don’t know why but I love the way you say Vorcha.
😂😂 It's a fun word to say!
Great in dept videos! Infiltrator is by far my favorite class. Still, going to use the Vanguard in my comming playtrough.
Everyone says Infiltrator is the best for sniping because of Tactical Cloak in ME2, but I disagree. I'm convinced the Adrenaline Rush's benefits allow the Soldier to do sniping just as good and even better than the Infiltrator
-Infiltrator's Tactical Cloak gives up to +75% damage, Soldier's Adrenaline Rush gives up to +140%
-Slow down time dilation? Adrenaline Rush goes up to 70% time dilation. Tactical cloak only 60%
-Duration: Adrenaline Rush 5 secs, Tact. Cloak slow down ~2 secs
-Adrenaline Rush does not go away after one shot, so Shepard can fire multiple shots on sniper rifles as opposed to Tactical Cloak's just one.
For sniping, going invisible and not being aggroed by enemies, Infiltrator would be better. For pure damage, then Soldier would be.
I'm using a sentinel for ME 1 and 2. Wondering if I should pick Infiltrator or Engineer for 3
The one shot sniper build is real. Saren on insanity mode was an ez 4 shot kill. Never lost health
But Infiltrator is only slightly behind in offense and defense while having better burst damage
I'm happy to give ME2 to Infiltrator.
Fast
But for the most part Infiltrator is either the best or so close it's meaningless. Definately the overall MVP class
Yes! Been waiting for this one!

at 13:05 you say that you use increate when tactical cloak is on cool down... doesn't all powers go on cool down in ME2 at the same time???
Wrex with heavy armor and shotgun always. He rules the battlefield.
He's the ultimate Krogan Battle master!
I wish more games would come out like mass effect. It's an absolutely brilliant format for RPG's. I really miss the old Bioware.
100% agree, Mass Effect captured something very special, it's a hard game to live up to. The only one that's come close for me is Witcher 3
Infiltrators, the best class. Add on Energy Drain ability and you are unstoppable.
ME1 - Shepard is the special forces agent kinda (they just call it Specter) where he operates like a CIA agent would
ME2 - Shepard is like some resistence movement leader that doesnt fit any class (some closed group that relies on science mostly) as its Shepard the Scientist
ME3 - Shepard is pure polititian (he does pretty much all political stuff in ME3 in order to unite everyone)
The profession that fits him most throughout the series is "polititian" where he always assembles teams, unifies people, makes peace (or kills the side he/she deems irrelevant/hurtful to the mission) and soldier against enemies fightable (like Geth, Rachni, Vorcha etc.) while being infiltrator against enemies he cant fight head on (Collectors and Reapers)
So, Shepard is really something in between imo, for me closer to being a soldier because I think he would talk or fight the people responsible directly rather than infiltrate something BUT its not always possible and he/she understands that.
@@Dark_Voice He is often seen as infiltrator on the big posters and other promo material.
@@juzoli I never seen any big posters or promo material really so I didnt know that.
@@Dark_Voice You said he “seems like”. So where did you see it then?:)
In game, if you play a soldier, he will definitely look like a soldier:D But that hardly proves any point…
11:26 I seriously can't tell if that was a pun or not
In ME3, I always enjoyed maxing out head shot and weapon related damage and having the black widow and a nearly weightless smg to abuse tactical cloak. Taking down harvesters in insanity was hilarious.
Shotgun infiltrator in me 3 is fun
The one class I suck at in every game, the sniper build. Though the shotgun infiltrator is pretty bad ass. But I do shot gun adepts, engineers, sentinels, obv vanguards, soldiers. Its all shot gun all the time.
Another amazing guide thanks 🙂
I didn’t really try infiltrator in single player, but in multiplayer I loved the salarian infiltrator with a shotgun
Do you have a link to a guide or video that goes over talent point allocations level-by-level for the Infiltrator build in Mass Effect Legendary Edition?
I've only really played the infiltrator class on the multiplayer, might play the class on the campaign.
little off topic, tho inflitrator is my favorite class cool vid
i really want mass effect 4 to have all companions in a mission. classic ghost recon/republic commando style tactical combat. i would think ps5 gen that can handle 60 player battlefield matches should be able to run a dozen squadmates and 30 to 50 enemies at once. really open up the maps for exploration, with vehicles like the mako. maybe even organize fireteams like the collector base appointing a No. 2 to lead a group and give them an objective, or stay on the 'not normandy' and call them in later for extraction/back up. like real time xcom almost
Bonus powers in Mass effect 1 are lift, throw, singularity
Sabotage does not disable weapons. It adds a backfire that damages the target. It does not decrease how much they fire.
Hello Kate. I like your videos a lot. The only criticism I have is 1 minute of intros that I hate having to skip all the time. Other than that, I love your videos
Thanks, glad you like the videos and appreciate the feedback.
This is my canon Shepard class
Infiltrator for the WIN
I wish I had changed classes at the begging of ME3 in my legendary edition playthrough while I enjoyed being an Infiltrator in ME2 I've been struggling with it in ME3
Just bought Legendary Edition, played ME1 back in 2008 as a soldier and still puzzled between soldier and infiltrator/vanguard.
Any hint please?
Like sometimes if you are about to die, and need to get into a new position asap, or couple special situations like certain objectives at multiplayer.]
also this class has a scope slowdown as well for the snipers
Did you play ME2 modded? I only ask because the fact that you use Incinerate while Tac Cloak is on cooldown made me think you're either mixing up ME2 and ME:A or you play modded.
Not a stab at you or anything, I've adored this series. Just something I noticed
If someone is on PC, why wouldn't they mod it. Whole point of playing on PC is for the mods, without them you can just play on Xbox or Playstation

What do you level first? I imagine things to deal with terminals and loot boxes? If so how much in each for early game?
Asking for ME1
If you are in the same zip code as your enemies, you are too close.
What about slowdown while aiming ? Does it work in mass effect 3 ?
The sniper slowdown effect is acquired through a weapon modification in me3. I believe it's the sniper concentration mod
@@OpIvyPunk For infiltrator there is also passive bonus, 25% to 35%, it's significantly less noticeable than in previous game. However it's cumulative with weapon bonuses, so I guess Infiltrators get longer and slower time dilation bonus.
Overall very good class, I really enjoy it on insanity
Ah yes, the WINfiltrator
I can’t decide between infiltrator and vanguard!
13:38 How the hell are you at level 40 on an Xbox?
