This is a great video! I dehydrate my spinach too and it is great! I grow Malabar spinach so that I can grow it during the summer heat. Your powder looks fantastic!
@@bluebirdhomestead I think it is a little more earthy. I prefer regular spinach better, but I’m not a huge fan of raw spinach anyway. When I make cooked spinach and creamed spinach the Malabar spinach is good. It is also great to dehydrate and use as a green powder.
@@MayfieldRanch That’s good to know! We grew “winter spinach” this year and everything has bolted already. I may have to try some of the malabar spinach next summer 😊👍 Thanks for sharing!

That’s awesome! I have never tried dehydrating leeks before. I do add in Kale and other leafy greens from the garden to this powder as well throughout the growing season. 😊 What do you use the leek powder in?

Wow great idea Cara I have never thought of doing that with spinach but then again I am probably not growing spinach again Gerald prefers kales and brassica leaves. You can also dehydrate kale leaves and use that in the same way! We love making Kale “chips” to eat. Thank you for the tip on the spider. I wasn’t sure what it was or if it would survive since I took it out of its protected spot so I did end up feeding it to the chickens. I am always going to check my leaves extra carefully in the future though. That wouldn’t be pleasant to bite into haha 😝

Hello Anita my friend! 😊 The blended up spinach worked out great, that is now going to be my preferred way of doing it. It did require a few more hours on the dehydrator, but it was quick and easy!
