    Thanks for these videos on blueprinting and tuning. I just got a ProBoat Zelos Twin and am planning on running it on 6s. First run tomorrow with two 6s 6000 mAh 50c Admiral Pro batteries. I'm looking forward to it and now I know how to tune it if it needs to be tuned. I won't know until I run it. From watching your videos I've also come to the realization that I made a good choice in getting a boat with a fiberglass hull. I was going to get the Traxxas M41 as my first boat, but after seeing a video with the ProBoat Shockwave and then seeing the Zelos, I knew right away I had to have the Zelos. Just something about the twin screws, power, and the rooster tails just made me have to have it. I can tell right away that these ProBoats are a good quality product. I've got a few plans as far as upgrades for it already. I've just got to take it out and run it to see if I feel like the mods are necessary. 60 mph out of the box seems like more than enough, but I've got other RCs that I thought the same thing. Lol. I know this video is from 2013 but the instructions for getting the boat fine tuned is still very useful. To be honest, I probably won't always be running it to it's full potential because 60 on the water is crazy fast. If I ever do though and have to blueprint the hull or just tune it to handle 60+ a little better, I'll have something to fall back on.

    I liked these videos. Some very good information particularly for a new guy like me. I have one question. If you were planning on using putty from the start why did you go through all the trouble sanding the sponsons perfectly flat? Wouldn't it have been just as effective and a lot less work to just scuff them up so the epoxy would have a good bond then concentrate on getting the epoxy perfect?

      Hi,
      Shoot me an email at jqhydro@gmail.com and I can send you a setup/running guide that covers a bunch of stuff.

    I noticed the sponson outboard edge is actually higher than the inboard edge. Is this by accident or design and what about making the sponsons flat in relation to each other...say if you would lay sandpaper on the table and move the boat around to true up all surfaces to each other?

    • @jamesquaranta2173
      @jamesquaranta2173  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      crispyspa Hi, That is by design of the hull. Do not change the geometry of the hull when blueprinting-- your goal is just to take the concavity out of the surface and sharpen up the edges

      Oh, ok, Thanks for the great video. I'll be doing this as soon as I get my hands on some of that putty.

    Did you Test the MPH before you started sanding and what kind of numbers were you getting? Also, whats your personal best with the boat sanded down and evened out on your Catamaran? I.m interested in see the change, I am sure it handle a lot better thats for sure..

      Hi, I did not have a GPS so my visual estimates of my speed were way off. Not sure if it goes any faster but handling is a lot better. My son is now running a V3 hull and it did not need to be blueprinted.

      Hi, I’m guessing it is running around 45mph on 4s with x642 prop. The handling is way better that’s for sure

    Hi, please ask a question, I have a 32 inch catamaran, I would like to power it with a single engine, the question is: in which position should I fix the engine and the two batteries to find the right center of gravity?

    • @jamesquaranta2173
      @jamesquaranta2173  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, you can place the motor pretty much anywhere you want because you can then use the batteries to adjust the COG. For cats, usually the motor is just forward of the middle of the boat- but do what is most convenient given the hatch area and the length of stuffing tube you want to use. Then test with various battery locations.

      Hi, Are you getting a V2 or a V3? The V3 versions are generally better than the V2, so run it first to see how it does. This is a labor intensive job so I would have to charge quite a bit... but you want to talk about it send me an email at jqhydro@gmail.com

    • @vincentculletto39
      @vincentculletto39 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      James Quaranta it's the v3 version. just before Geico pulled out from pro boat. it's actually for my daughter. she is 7. I will check it out. and if it seems unstable. I will send u an email.
