This is why there needs to be a knockout tournament for the teams that don’t make it out the group stages. What an incredible match.

Totally agree! A side tournament for a world shield would be welcome by the fans and encouraging for the teams, and would certainly produce some tight matches like this.

@@jakeclough8090 It provides more matches more experience. But only having a world cup to get experience is not enough there needs to be more in between for the lower teams to gain experience.
I must take my hat off the the organizers of this tournament. To see a full crowd for a Georgia vs Portugal game is just incredible.

Strange, that you mentioned it. I mean, the Eastern part of Georgia was also named Iberia in the antiquity. Two teams, one from Western and another from Eastern Iberia clashed yesterday.

As a Georgian I found our team's game pretty appalling. Second half was painful to watch; so many mistakes... At the end we can count our blessings for not losing at least...

On paper it's probably the best Georgia team they've had. No idea why they aren't performing well. Awful big gaps being left in defence on the inside. Lazy running really. Todua just got left for dead for the second Portugal try.

I'm super proud of these men but also sad to see our first victory at a world cup slip through our fingers in the last minute of the game. A victory at the WC could have been a turning point in Portuguese rugby as we desperately need a professional league. The game looks very popular and engaging so hopefully these Lobos can draw attention to rugby anyway.

Portugal deserved to win the game.
In the end there were some mistakes by the referees, Georgia's high tackle was overlooked and the lineout was not allowed for Georgia in the end.
Imagine Portugal in the six nations, in Lisbon with that kind of support, the game needs wider participation.
I would add both Portugal and Georgia and make it an 8 nations.
