There is a range of bigger RidgeMonkey toaster pans these days. However, I have the Ridgemonkey small and ordered the newer Ridgemonky XL Connect after watching a few YT videos yesterday. I have also had the SQ NEA Marbell pan identical to yours (in black) for two years, and for the money, the equivalent non-stick quality, and the gasket seal, the SQ pan remains the clear winner in. my eyes. At the moment, I am looking at modifying my pan slightly to allow the two sections to separate. If I get this right, then the SQ pan is untouchable by comparable Ridgemonkey XXL (currently =/- £53.00) in my opinion. My only other issue is finding a replacement silicone gasket for the lid. Still searching for this online.
Thanks for this , some interesting reflections . I've actually updated this video recently and bought the black SQ - purely for vanity - my red one is still fine 👍
@@vanlifegoodies You are going to love this! To make the SQ (temporarily or permanently) detachable, the same as the Ridgemonkey Connect XXL, all you need to do is remove 'one' tiny circlip from the rear R/H side of the hinge. It took me two seconds and boom. No tools other than a tiny flat screwdriver to hook the circlip. I've checked the seal and it still works perfectly without the circlip. I am doing my happy dance at the moment. SQ currently retailing on Amazon for £19.99, versus Ridgemonkey XXL at £53.00.😁
Thanks for the sub! I’ve actually done a more recent review on this sq grill - use it all the time . You can find the latest video here th-cam.com/video/S-QNYfZ-ZCU/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Ridgmonkey was designed for fisherman on the bank hence the compact small design so we can fit it in amongst all our other luggage but this looks like a nifty piece of kit
Yes I think that’s where I heard about it but looked for something bigger . I actually wanted a toasted sandwich and actually haven’t made one yet !! Must try !
Thanks for the video I am definitely going to buy one now I've seen this, your right, the ridge monkey is great but way too small, especially as my wife and I and both our dogs love bacon so I won't have to wait to get mine when we can do all the bacon together.
hi i noticed when you were doing your bacon for the family when you picked up the pan i think you may have leaked a little grease from the hole at the back of the pan rendering it to alight the gas ring which could have led to a fire,i think i`ll stick to the ridge monkey, but thanks for the vid.cheers
When cooking bacon with the lid closed. When you open it to check on the bacon does the fat trip down from the top lid onto the Hob or is it designed not to?
There is a funnel at the back that collects the fat - one of my first videos is a target rubbish video but explains it a bit more th-cam.com/video/Q3a-PaR-XqQ/w-d-xo.html
Very bad film. 1. Don't set an example to others draining fat outside your van. Bad habit indeed. 2. Never use a metal fork or anything else metal on non stick material. You can here the fork making contact and thus damaging the pan coating. Poor quality film promoting and good quality product
Watched this vid many times over. I love the shot where Dave and the girls go, "uuuummm," love it so I go, uuuummm, everytime, 😂. I have now bought one. Hope you get some credit. I can't, unfortunately, practise with it at home, cos I have an induction hob (I knew it was Aluminium) so will use next trip. No manual supplied and very little info out there on the Web. Any, more, detailed cooking tips greatfully accepted. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! 🤗
You’ll love it . Depending on what your cooking keep the heat low . Over the years the seal Has become a faff to clean and put back in so I’ve left mine out . Some recently told me the pans also separate , however I haven’t tried it yet . That video was my first one , suggested by macy . I’ve learnt so much since then and just love learning new skills . There is lots o would like to do in the future with the channel but the family comes first and my time is theirs first and for-most . Thanks for watching , commenting , buying and supporting . Good luck with the sq P.s the kids take the mik every time I use the sq we use the full title “ SQ professional magic grill “ !!!! Therefore so must you 😂😂😂
Hi , just for the record it was not a camping site but a country car park and the dogs licked it up as it was just bacon fat . I would not litter nor cause damage to anything
hi alan , the seal was fab and an additional seal is sent in the box .....however , ive had mine for a while now and putting the seal back in position after a good clean is a bit of a faf so i just use it without the seal now . hope that answers your question .
Drainage straight outside, probably one of the weekends warriors giving me a bad name!!
