  • Here's a guided tour of the new Lenovo Yoga Book C930. This device will available in October starting at $999. It has a cool "knock-knock to open" feature and now packs a full e-ink display on the bottom. There's also now full haptic and audio feedback in the e-ink keys, and the ability to tap it and get the full trackpad. Check here for more information www.onmsft.com...

    Sigh. As student I was soo hyped for this product but 4 GB RAM for that starting price is a big no in 2018. Better luck next time..

      Tjena. Same here. I got the money, but the C930 is of no use to me since it's not year 2008 anymore when I barely got around on 4GB with some multitasking.

      What's the battery life like?? I have the first one, I use it as a note book. The paper it came with was pretty cool.

    When reading pdf files with only the E-ink screen on, can we use the digit pen to take notes on pdf?

    Very nice device. I have the first generation yoga book, and I like it a lot. I use it more than my main laptop.

      Cool! I just bought the 1st gen because I was so disappointed about the RAM on 2nd gen.

    Why so much innovation and you kill it by offering only 4GB RAM? You charge 1000$ as a starting price, you say you want a performance device and give no 8GB option, shame on you!

      Cuz you have two screens

      Looks like you didn't understand what I am talking about... what has lack of RAM to do with 2 screens ?

    • @bryanmiller476

      Digitalguy more screen space needs more ram to quickly process everything quickly

    They couldve stuck with the original just upgrade the specs and keyboard and maintain same price and it will sell more. 1000usd is close to premium notebook territory

    I actually like writing on the keyboard part and seeing what I write appear at the same time on the screen, just like a wacom tablet or the 1st gen yoga book. For this newer version, I doubt I could do that.

    If anyone form Lenovo is still around can they please confirm if you actually can change the Keyboard Language/Layout? As well as the Windows install Language during setup? Lenovo France told me that if Ii buy the French version that I am stuck with the French Keyboard and cannot change it to UK or US for example. TY :-)

    • @MARKCIE
      @MARKCIE 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry guys, should have commented a while back! Can answer myself now 😊👍. Got my LTE version soon after posting and can confirm that you can select any language and layout at any stage. So if you are after the LTE version grab one from France if you can as they were not available in the UK etc. Worth the extra outlay IMHO.
      Only thing I would like is to be able to customise the keyboard fully and also the static power off eInk images (they are pretty naff). Maybe one day Lenovo will release something or someone may 3rd party a hack. Please let me be if anyone comes across anything.
      Anyway, love the thing! Not cheap but a top piece of kit. 👍😁

    Hi, great review. I was wondering, can you connect a bluetooth keyboard and write on the e-ink screen? Or if not mirror the word document on the e-ink screen? that would be great as a writer, not having to use the backlit display.

    how about the writing experience compared to paper or the rMarkable?

    • @penguin272
      @penguin272 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have both. the rM is slightly "softer" in the writing feeling but the C930 does a good job. What I still struggle with is the e-ink note management. I canot find anything to manage the notes other than using onenote (by copying), rM did a farbetter job there. On the other hand, rM struggles to get into connection with my cloud (syno) at home.

    at least should be implemented more than only pdf reading with the ereader screen. The hw is old 7th generation when has been released the 8th, it's too expensive for such options. Even if it's cool

    In 2018 16GB RAM should be standard. In most cases this is the maximum option even when 32GB or more is supported.

    • @yungweeb4608
      @yungweeb4608 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      8Gigs should be standard. 16 would be great, but not necessary. 32GB are overkill

    • @Ypssilon

      On the older book HP I had only 2GB (XP), after on msi 4 GB (W7) ,
      and still everything went well... And now you tell min 8GB, but better 16... :)
      Maybe it is just the psychological pressure of the producers...

    • @TrunkMonkey42
      @TrunkMonkey42 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With windows 10 I'm having to constantly close browser windows and other applications on 8GB systems. Windows 10 with less than 16 GB is painful. There is no reason not to have these options. Memory is cheap, getting cheaper, and supported. Then again, I'd like to also see this with the i7 and thunderbolt usb c options like the regular c930.

      assuming they are the same speakers as last gen, they are decent but nothing to write home about. decently loud but lacking bass, as to be expected from such a thin device.

      They don't have that multi touch stuff or whatever it's called, not a tech person. The bezel is so you can hold it with one hand and operate with other. Well that's how the old android version works. I use it all the time. Great.
