    fix the bezels and get rid of the giant yoga book text and i will be interested also make the entire keyboard part the same material it looks so weird being mixed like that like a keyboard bezel

    Lack of backlight makes is a DOA device imo. After finally getting backlight on my new laptop I can't go back; it's immensely useful in so many scenarios. Great video as always!

    I have the original Yoga Book. Still use it when I'm traveling ultra light. The biggest issues for me where the lack of LTE, battery life and a loss of typing speed.
    Without LTE and no backlight thi a is DOA for me. I look forward to your review. Tell Lenovo to get LTE into this device or their target audience won't buy it. And $1000?That buys a lot of laptop power, that price is a mistake

      The original Yoga Book has LTE and is still far more "worth" the price than this 1000$ with no backlight or LTE which sucks

    • @JeffJacquesmd
      @JeffJacquesmd 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vintagewander the US version did not have LTE available when I purchased it. But completely agree with you, this new one, at that price without LTE or backlight is a none starter

      @@JeffJacquesmd honestly using the original Yoga Book with LTE whether you're on Windows or Android, that's obviously a really big advantage over other windows tablet, and it has a keyboard with a wacom pen as well, still got a decent chip with 4GBs of Ram and 128 SSD and the price always fall under 500$, I don't really know what was Lenovo thinking ? I've tried both the android and windows version of the previous model, I think the android version is more practical than the windows version. The windows version is laggy, slow, and getting errors frequently.. Too bad they are not making the android version anymore.
    The fingerprint reader is something that I'd really like to have, also the update to usb type C would be pleasing because the previous model will charge so slowly.
    I still hoping that they would make the cheaper android variant for the new yoga book.

    I'm glad they didn't give up on the Yoga Book concept. I had a Yoga Book (had to sell it since I was low on money) and it was absolutely amazing. I thought that after 2 years Lenovo abandoned the idea but clearly the didn't and the eink idea is really clever. The only thing I wonder is why they are going strictly with Windows 10 and no Chrome OS version?

    Why wouldn't they use an OLed screen for the keyboard area? You could've implemented your own keyboard theme stores and sell pro versions with effects and have free ones through the windows store.
    I wish I had the money or the team to create inventions done right, cause I think this was done just to say hey look here's the version everyone wanted, instead of already knowing that.

    Having owned the Android version Yoga Book - that e Ink keyboard is what it should have been from the beginning (and what everyone assumed it already was when I had showed it off). I don't think I've ever used the backlight of any laptop keyboard, so the lack of one might not be a problem for me - although, without physical keys, there's still the occasional peeking at the layout. I will definitely be waiting on a full review of this one.

    Is there a possibility to switch languages? Many review mention a customizable multi-language keyboard, but many don’t. I really love the whole concept of this product and would like to buy it for my dad as well, BUT for me it is imperative to be able to switch between languages, whilst for my dad is more important, as he speeds and writes only Russian. Any help, please? Is there maybe a possibility to switch languages and type on the main screen, like on your regular tablet? The reason for me asking, is that I found contradictory info, even a Lenovo support agent saying it is impossible, whilst in your video u mention it being possible. I would greatly appreciate the advice on this matter, about being able to switch between English and Russian keyboard, please help! Thank you in advance (interested in the model with the e-ink display)

    The lack of backlight doesn't make much sense to me. It's already so thin, that even if they did have to add a couple of millimeters to light up the keys, it'd still be absurdly thin to the point where it's impressive. Still, a cool device. Not great for me, because most of what I do with a laptop is writing, and I couldn't do without the tactility of physical keys, but it's still SO cool to look at.

But as a content consumption device, nothing beats my Yogabook.

    I can't understand why if manufacturers don't have enough room for a keyboard backlight they don't just put side emitting leds angled into the base of the screen to flood the keyboard or a small popup led floodlight above the keyboard you can tap on and it jumps up like a cupola. 1 or 2 leds vs 88 for a backlit keyboard should take less battery as well.
