As per my understanding, f you've opted for the additional photo service, you don't need to upload your photo online. The photo will be taken at the application center when you submit your documents. They will use this photo for your passport.

@@AanSiCoupleTV Thanks for your response and the contact number to be used. I spoke with VFS and they said payment is valid for 90 days though ofcourse they recommend the documents be sent as soon as possible. 2-3 weeks from the day of payment is not a problem as per my call with them.

1) For the correction of your name in Passport: It is clearly mentioned in "ADULT Checklist - Re-issue of Passport" under supporting documents section, in point no.1.
Two public/educational documents in the desired name i.e. Voter ID, Aadhar Card, any Government ID (both Indian or US, if applicant residing in USA continuously for over three years), School Certificate etc. are required to be submitted in respect of the following cases:
(i) Shifting of words/changing arrangement of various parts of existing name without inserting/deleting any words/letters in the existing name (e.g., Parameshwaran Shiva Kumaran to Shiva Parameshwaran Kumaran). However, shifting of name will not be allowed in cases where the initial name/abbreviation or the last name is father’s name.
(ii) Splitting of given name into First Name and Surname (e.g., if a passport shows Dilip Kumar as Given Name with Surname blank, he may be allowed enter Dilip as First Name and Kumar as Surname.

As per my understanding, f you've opted for the additional photo service, you don't need to upload your photo online. The photo will be taken at the application center when you submit your documents. They will use this photo for your passport.

Where do you find file Number to track new passport?
You can find the file number on the acknowledgment receipt that you received after submitting your passport application. It's usually located at the top of the receipt, under the barcode. You can use this file number to track the status of your passport application on the Passport Seva website.

In VFS Global, in the final Application Summary page where we need to click on "Confirm Application", the address provided for courier is not displaying the CITY that is provided and it is displaying only the street no and name, State, Country and Zip code. Will this be an issue for return courier as CITY is missing in the address? (Tried editing the application and entering the address details again but still the same issue). Please suggest.

VFS removed Fedex today, i got ups courier selection and while entering the mailing address it is not validating throughs error message stating unable to validate address by fed ex. So unable to submit since its disabled and unable to proceed as well. Tried multiple browsers..

Two public/educational documents in the desired name i.e. Voter ID, Aadhar Card, any Government ID (both Indian or US, if applicant residing in USA continuously for over three years), School Certificate etc. are required to be submitted in respect of the following cases:
(i) Shifting of words/changing arrangement of various parts of existing name without inserting/deleting any words/letters in the existing name (e.g., Parameshwaran Shiva Kumaran to Shiva Parameshwaran Kumaran). However, shifting of name will not be allowed in cases where the initial name/abbreviation or the last name is father’s name.
(ii) Splitting of given name into First Name and Surname (e.g., if a passport shows Dilip Kumar as Given Name with Surname blank, he may be allowed enter Dilip as First Name and Kumar as Surname.

In the Indian govt passport application , for section of address , I want to put Indian address under printable address . Since I am not in India what phone number should I be putting for Indian address? Thanks for your help

I have seen the checklist of the documents which we have to submit in that check list when I have downloaded in 7) proof of address in US is showing that they just need a color copy, it has not mentioned in to notarized. So my question is should bi notarized or not? Please help me with this question
Hi!! yes now for PROOF OF ADDRESS IN THE USA only (Color-Copy) is required, notary is not needed.
