I bargained for a leather wallet at the Grand Bazaar in 2004. Walking out, I thought I got a good deal. However, once I stepped outside, the first store I looked at had the same wallet at a starting price cheaper than what I paid for after all the negotiating.
What he meant to say was "Evil eye" and not "devil eye" 😀 The turkish name is Nazar, and its supposed to protect you from "evil eyes", meaning i e jealous people looking at you and jinxing whatever it is that they're jealous of 😊 it's a superstition in other words You can see these in buses and cars etc hanging from the mirror, as to protect the journey Or in people's homes to protect the homes, as jewelry etc etc There's a turkish saying that goes "don't believe in Nazar, but don't go without it either", kind of meaning have it "just in case" Anyway, it's pretty and actually trendy here in Western countries right now under the name of "evil eye" Theres even an emoji for it 🧿🙂
Good choice to spend time when its rainy. Although I'm living in Istanbul for 24 years I didn't visit grand bazaar. Candles look so good tho. Thank you for videos they're really made my day
What a lovely couple🤗 welcome to istanbul 🎉 i hope you spent good time! Next time we would like to see you in our other cities ❤ your vlog’s energy’s are really nice! 😊
Very nice video! Regarding the topic at minute 8: Some stores might have a subscription where you pay a certain amount per week/month and can get as much tea as you want from the tea makers.
Grand Bazaar is a shopping Centre not a Market. Grand Bazaar always had shops with doors. And always had wholesalers/manufacturers as well but in a different section of the Grand Bazaar.
There’s no limit to what you can make videos about. As long as there is something you enjoy doing, there is always a story to be told. And all you need is a phone 🤳 One thing we talk about all the time is that we wished we would have started our channel and blog before we ever traveled. All that said, thanks for watching and saying hello 👋
wdym the prices aren’t that high compared to non-touristy places. As a turkish person I wouldn’t call those expensive at all. Why do you expect to be able to bargain at local shops when the price isn’t even 10 dollars?

The types of Turkish delight you buy are really expensive, but they are not expensive for tourists.
