I like the detail work in the book shelves if you look closer you can see the art put in them. Nothing beats the original library setting . I remember the green light bankers lamps they would have at the table.

I remember a library coworker telling me that a "night shift security guard" at the library quit his job because he saw a library book cart move by itself and heard strange noises at night! And this happened before the filming of the movie!
Looks like those card catalogs were originally separated into four and on legs so they could have that hallway of them on the right. These are likely the originals that were used in the movie. Great find!!!

Absolutely one of my all time favorite movies. I saw it in the theater the first Saturday it was out. The day before, I went with my after school group to see Gremlins! A memorable weekend, indeed. When the library ghost morphed into the banshee looking thing, everyone in the theater jumped, but then started laughing hysterically at the Ghostbusters' reaction to it! From that moment on, I loved the film! It's one of those movies that always makes you feel better after watching it.

Awesome as always, guys! One of THE funniest movies ever. I love that's it's so old school New York which I remember as a youngin'. I was lucky enough to take a bunch of pics of the firehouse exterior in TriBeCa in 2014 shortly after Harold passed away. There was a memorial there with a bunch of candy bars. It looked totally brand new. Of course, lots of people there as always. And the public library at 42nd and 5th Ave. was somewhere I spent a lot of time in during college. Sat by one of the Lions many times. Merry Christmas to you both! ☃️

I didn't know about the library fire. The library ghost was played by astrologer Ruth Hale Oliver. She was the Mother of Susan Oliver who played Vina in the Star Trek pilot episode The Cager aka The Menagerie.
Love Ghostbusters, huge fan, I think, I was 5, maybe 6? When I first watched it, 1985, I loved it, I loved it then, and still do, to this day, 2022, a childhood favorite of mine, RIP Harold Ramos (Egon) love the marshmallow man, great job Micheal and Jessica, absolutely amazing !!! ♥️
Awesome filming location. I'm a fan of Ghostbusters and it was cool to see this. I do know the Exterior scenes of the Firehouse were filmed in NY but the insides were filmed in L.A.
The library ghost from Ghostbusters terrified me as a child. My dad had to hide the television with a nearby curtain whenever the basement scene came on.
I'm happy that the area is still there and you guys saw it. I knew there was a fire and I thought that part of the building was never repaired. Glad it was and you matched up the shots. Awesome work

Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohicans. Take place in New York state but filmed in North Carolina Groundhog Day: takes place in Punxsutawney Pa. But filmed in Woodstock Illinois Hollywood has done this for years. Why anyone gets mad or otherwise is not your fault You two do a great job. The Lost Boys bridge was the best part ever

The card catalogues they used were genuine, they were unused at this time since the library had switched to computerized record keeping. The film crew built a false wall behind some of them and pushed the drawers open from behind then used pressurised air to blow the cards out. I watched a documentary about it in the 80s or 90s, can't remember exactly.
I literally just visited the Outside of the Firehouse Hook and ladder where the ecto-1 first pulled up in NYC this week! Was a cool feeling! Keep up the greatest work guys!!!

I just drove my self crazy after watching Divorce American Style w/Dick Van Dyke & Debbie Reynolds. There is a scene when Dick & Jason Robards walk out of his ex wife’s house.
