I worked on this film and you are correct. It was the best job I ever had. The whole team was incredible and Bill Murray saying hi to me was definitely the highlight of it all.
That’s amazing! Soooo cool you got to work on the film? Do you mind me asking what you did? Thanks for being part of making it!!
Color me jealous.
@@ExperienceExplorers I was one of the graphic designers in London. You can actually see a couple of the things I did in the trailer. For example, I painted the eye on the beaded door curtain in Ray’s shop. I also did the Women of Rock Festival poster you showed in your video at 4:50. Among many other things I can’t say until the release. 🤐
@@NightOwl_30bullshit prove it
@@tmr8193oooh, someone’s jealous! 😂
The car ripping through the streets is just amazing! 😀
Yeah it was so cool to see! The stunt driving was so on point!
I'm betting that Peck will try to pull some nasty tricks in order to get rid of the Ghostbusters. But he's not going to win.
@@jasonethridge4506 I think you are spot on!
Ecto is just amazing to see. It’s a character in itself. But I love seeing Ray/Dan Ackroyd driving it…… You can imagine it’s a lovely vibe on set. Bill Murray is just a legend. ❤
Yeah so cool to see this car in the streets of NYC! The vibes were epic!!!
It's so warming to see that ghostbusters fand and the crew really love what they do. Everyone looks like they just know they are having the best time. I'm excited for this film.
Yeah it’s so epic! What’s great bunch - my buddy that worked on GB afterlife said it was the best Kobe he ever had and best team working on GB
I love Ghostbusters is nice to see behind the scenes. My good friend, whom I game with worked on this movie special effects he worked on that Slimer scene and helped with updating the ecto-1. He worked on the scenes in the UK. The original title was Ghostbusters Firehouse. They changed the name once they went to the States.
That’s very cool! Is your friend in the VFX team? Thanks for commenting!
Looking forward to seeing Ghostbusters Frozen Empire!!! Very cool to see behind the scenes stuff!!! Congratulations on getting to see some of it in real life!!!
Thanks! Yeah it was a special time! Really looking forward to watching it! Hoping to bring some more coverage of the premiere! Thanks for commenting!
Good video, enjoyed it thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 Thanks for watching!
phoebe/mckenna's stunt double seems like such a good person hahaha! i loved the video, looking forward to the next one.
She was so wonderful! And very talented! Worth checking out her instagram - she’s awesome! @aceimartin - Yep more editing to do! Excited to share our breakdown! Thanks for commenting!
Wow,,,,, This video is nothing short of amazing and to see the people being soo Friendly and nice. It’s a real breath of fresh air…. Thank you. Thank you… ❤❤✌xxxx. Goood to see ghostbuster’s back…. 👍Xxxxxx.
Thanks so much! It was a really great experience the shooting of this movie really brought out the best in NYC! So glad I was able to share this experience with everyone! Thanks for the comment!
I will always remember the first time I saw the first Ghostbuster I was in elementary school in like third years and every Friday of every week the teachers showed us a film and this film had just been released on VHS and yes it was was before internet and youtube. It was with the first VHS players with the big buttons of different colors in front of the players and with the video cassette that had to be put on top of the player with the tube TV. All the young people watched the film, it was probably one of the rare times where we didn't get bored, they were all fixed on watching the film from start to finish.
That’s cool!
What an incredible video! Thanks for this, I was looking forward to watching it.
Thanks so much! So glad you liked it! It was so much fun watching them film! Hopefully this came though on the video 😊 More to come!
The robes they're wearing to cover their jumpsuits make them look like they're filming a Harry Potter movie. 😆
I know - totally thought the same thing - the hilarious thing is that much of this was filmed right outside the Harry Potter store NYC!!! Did make me chuckle - now that would be a crossover movie!
@@ExperienceExplorers That would be epic! 😆
It would!
Your harry potter comment has inspired a section in our new video coming out tomorrow..
Absolutely amazing the cast and crew have been, taking time to talk and share photo's with fans and people on the streets. I'm just thinking the equipment on the roof of the Miller Meteor (ECTO 1), has slimmed because in Ghostbusters 2, the extra load added 1.5 tones of extra weight, which was quite high up. Tight turns had to be taken slowly and then sped up in film to create the illusion of travelling fast. Lets also not forget that these cars are over 60 years old now, but it is so wonderful to see her flying through the streets once again.
Thanks for your comment - yeah these cars are amazing- and yes the mods - especially II had a huge impact on the car - having taken a spin in one on NY streets I’m amazed at how much work it is to get those things to move - it’s like piloting a ship 😂 and visibility is tough!
This was so well put together. Amazing footage!
Thanks so much!!! Super appreciate it!
The first two will always be the best.
The first two are epic!
So cool, thanks for being there and putting this video up.... I was watching the photos and instagram videos from EctoNJ, so nice to see him right there too
My pleasure! Ecto1_nj is the best! Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it!
5:15 Fair point. Dustin Hoffman's infamous "I'm walkin' here!" line from Midnight Cowboy (1969) was apparently occasioned by an actual NYC taxi who ignored a filming barricade and blew through the set, nearly hitting the actor. The Director (John Schlesinger) decided to keep the footage of this delightful "New York Minute" in the finished film. There is some dispute over whether this moment was genuine or scripted.
That’s amazing never knew that! Yeah - the shoot is not strictly alpine to stop people walking though - but they ask firmly for people to stop or keep moving depending on what is going on! A good number didn’t care one bit and walked right in front of stunt cars ready to drive!! Crazy and funny at the same time!
I'm just loving these behind the scenes videos and revelling in your enthusiasm for the whole genre. GREAT stuff!!! 👻
Thanks man! Always look forward to your comments!!! I was having so much fun!
@@ExperienceExplorers I couldn't really tell if you were having fun or not. hehehehe.. 😋
Hope that a future Ghostbusters film takes place during Halloween with Samhain and his army of ghosts on the prowl. The Grundel and The Boogeyman are also terrific villains for other films.
Boogeyman was so scary that i dont even think they made a toy of him back in the day.
this is so cool. i can’t believe you were all allowed to just watch
Yeah they were so chill about us being around - and on the Saturday - the whole of NYC was out ton the street - it was a lot of work for them to manage filming and the crowd!
I watched a few filming of Movies when living in the city; ELF, Borne Identity, some of the filming was in the Hospitals, and various TV shows. Waited a couple of hours to see a filming, but worth the wait.
That’s so cool! Those are epic films to have seen shooting in the city!!!
Great behind the scenes shots!!
Thanks 🤩 really appreciate it!!!
When I was a kid in 70s we had a former hearse/ambulance just like the ECTO, and it was great. Do ninety miles an hour on a dirt road and it felt like you were going half that fast.
That sounds amazing!!! My buddy has an Ecto replica - love driving in that thing!!! Thanks for commenting!
So awesome.. can’t wait for the movie!
I know right!
Great footage! I was visiting NYC in June 2023. While we were killing time waiting to meet up with a friend, we decided to wander over to the Ghostbuster's Firehouse to just take some photos and low and behold, we stumbled upon them filming! It was the stunt crew filming the Echo1 driving down Moore St over and over. So cool and unexpected to witness that! When I saw the new movie in theaters last week, I was trying to pinpoint the shot that we saw being filmed, but since there were A LOT of scenes of the Echo1 driving around NYC, it was impossible to figure out without being able to pause the movie!
That’s so cool! The Moore street shot is the final shot of the ecto in the movie - when it drives away from the firehouse with Trevor driving 😊 so glad you got to see that!
@@ExperienceExplorers Oh my gosh, thank you SO Much for clarifying that!
You are so welcome!
Great report you guys did. Thank you for sharing your experience in the field. Another big thank you from the French “Ghostbusters Project”. 👍
Thanks so much!!! It was a pleasure and so glad so many folks are enjoying watching it! Thanks for commenting!
The movie looks amazing looking at these BTS! I hope it makes a good profit at the box office so we can have a Ghostbusters 5.
Let’s hope so!
This is a brilliant behind the scenes vid Matt!! Great job ❤❤❤

I like the addition of the red stripes in the front!
Yeah it looks cool!
I live in north jersey, when I heard they were filming, I had to come to watch for a lil bit, so cool, w movie to
Yay! Yeah watching the filming in NYC was so much fun!
Just Epic!
It really is!!!
you all did such a great job on the movie
I really loved seeing slimer and the ecto 1 making their comebacks
to be honest the blonde guy with the glasses looked like the guy from the 2016 movie who worked the phone but overall great movie
Thanks for the comment!
Great video
Thanks!
Great video, it would have been so awesome to watch this get filmed.
So glad you enjoyed it! It really was a treat to be able to hang out on set like this! Hopefully it felt like you were there through the video! More content to come 😊 thanks for commenting!
@@ExperienceExplorers Yeah well living in Australia, videos like yours is how I get to experience stuff like this and awesome Ghostbusters events that you go to like your video at WinderCon I think it's called. I was hoping to head over to the States this year for the premiere of the new film or even for the 40th anniversary, if GhostCoprs are going to do something at the Sony Lot again like GB fan fest, which I did attend back 2019.. So yeah I'm looking forward to you next Video. Cheers Andrew
Yeah that’s quite a trip! Hopefully they do something at Sony - like you say! Eric who runs GhostCorps is super cool and really cares about the fans so I would be very surprised if they don’t do something! Hopefully you can come out for the premiere! Haven’t heard any details as yet though any of my channels - hopefully we will all hear news soon!!! McKenna didn’t even seem to know about the premiere details when we met her a few weeks ago 😊
@@ExperienceExplorers Yeah Eric is super cool, I have meet him a couple of times, he gave me a private tour around GhostCorps/Sony back in 2016, he is definitely a hero to the fans. Unfortunately I think my wallet won't permit be to head back over anytime soon, so I'll be having some major FOMO and living through your TH-cam channel haha.
Well I’ll do my best to post as much as I can to keep folks in the loop!
Great video! I was wondering how you managed to get so much time off to watch it all - and then you said it was on a Saturday! 🙂
It reminds me of the time I was working in London and saw this very weird purple coloured triple-decker bus parked outside my office (filming often used this street to park up all the support vehicles). I had no clue what it was about. Roll forward ten years and then I watch the Harry Potter movies! I wish I knew at the time.
lol that’s hilarious! The knight bus right In front of your office!!!
Great video guys!!! One question, are the red stripes on the top of the fender on the ecto 1 new?
Yes - well spotted! I cover the ecto changes in this other video Exploring The Hidden Secrets of Ghostbusters Frozen Empire: Detailed Breakdown NYC Behind-The-Scenes
th-cam.com/video/THUuC8XDrMY/w-d-xo.html thanks for the question 😊
Great Thanks! @@ExperienceExplorers
My friend was in New York and saw the final bits to the ending of the film 😊
That’s so awesome!
I also worked on this. I was the manager of the emergency umbrella unit. All jokes aside I'm 40 and was Ghostbusters mad as a kid and I really enjoyed watching the new film with my kids😊. 🙏
😂😂😂 So glad you enjoyed watching it as a family 😊
nicely done sir. Paw five 😸
Thank you kindly - almost the perrrrrfect video 😊
Yeah, it was crazy here in Baltimore Maryland. I’ve seen him die heart part four with Bruce Willis with Salman up at the courthouse in Baltimore, Maryland uptown. It was so crazy.
Sounds so cool! Watching filmmaking is really fun!
Radical.
👻
Dude! Just checked out your channel! OMG!! The Super Mario Busters killed me - you are so talented!! Just amazing!! Incredible!
Yoooo, thanks so much!@@ExperienceExplorers
That is so cool maybe after the Dunn shooting and filming Ghostbusters and I have my license I could buy the car and keep the car at my place in Birmingham, Michigan and drive it
That’s cool! Well yeah who wouldn’t want their own ecto 😊
That was awesome! I feel like a failure as a huge Ghostbusters fan and I've never been down to Tribeca to visit the firehouse in person, even though I live 30 mins away in Rockland County.
I was hoping the Ecto-1 would've gotten more upgrades, especially the lights. I thought they would've went LED lights for the emergency lights, headlights and taillights this time.
I was such a fan of the upgraded Ecto-1A in Ghostbusters II.
Thanks so much! To totally need to make the trip! It’s worth it! Yeah the updates were small for this film - I always wonder what happed to the 1a in the new story (perhaps they had two cars) and we’ll see the 1a again! Thanks so much for commenting!
@@ExperienceExplorers ......I was wondering the same thing in Ghostbusters Afterlife. Jason Reitman said Ghostbusters II was canon but we got very little references to it.
I would've liked to have seen the Ecto-1A in the barn, Ghostbusters II jumpsuits in Egons locker when Phoebe is looking through them and a slime thrower too.
Everyone keeps saying there are two 1959 Cadillacs, one for the Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A, but there was never anything in GBII that made us believe they bought another Caddy. 🤷🏻♂️
I do know there are slime throwers in this movie 😊 so hopefully we will get more back story to the GBII tech we didn’t see in Afterlife!
Great Video! But do you think that stranger at 11:15 was kicking a ghost? lol
lol - quite possibly!!! So glad you liked the video 😊
I swear I never bother leaving a comment bro this is a great video
Wow that’s big praise!!! Thanks so much!
Excelente película ya la vi ojalá y agan más pegoso faltó que saliera más .lo más sorprendente cuando salió la secretaria de los cazafantasmas ca
So glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for commenting!
Did they LS motor swap ecto?? I swear i caught a glimpse of a LS under the hood!! That is awesome!
Yes it has an LS for all the ecto models used in the move 😊 Well spotted!
😮😮😮😮
👻👻👻👻
The Stunt team look like they would have part time jobs at DisneyLand
Great video, thanks. Btw @11:13 I see the guy in blue on the left is apparently getting into the swing of things by rear kicking a ghost in the nuts!
Looks that way 😂😂😂 so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting!!!

I was in ft macleod alberta in 2019 when they were filming afterlife, spent the day watching them filming stunt team doing the main street chase scene, so no main actors, but was awesome to see, and the 2-3 different cars for ecto-1 they used ( main hero car with full roof kit, ect, and 1-2 stunt cars, no roof kit but a drivers cage up top
They did let us get up close and look, but no touching, as any finger prints would smudge up the dusty old look of it haha
That’s amazing you got to see that! I hope to get out there some time and see the filming locations!
@@ExperienceExplorers oh it was, as an 80s kid, nerdy, and a car guy, it was a highlight day, hit all the nostalgic feels.
Did someone know where the original Ghostbusters Car is ?😅
My Englisch is not very goog because im from Germany 🇩🇪
Yes, it's in California at the Ghost Corps Head Quarters at Sony
@@ExperienceExplorers ah thanks😁
Seen the car and know 99% of where the last one was shot, Calgary 🇨🇦
So cool! Planning a trip to tour those locations! Thanks for commenting!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
😊😊😊😊
11:14 That guy on the left with the red cap...Was he auditioning for a part in the film??
LOL - didn’t see that when editing! Quite possibly!! 😂
8:20
looks like Ecto-1 has been upgraded with a portable Containment Unit.
Oooh interesting I’ll look into that! It’s a great idea! My buddy who has an ecto has one is his! Jason has seen his car so maybe he got some ideas!
2:04 I was there before this movie
Makes me wonder how they managed to get ectos light bars the wrong way around (again). In gb1&2 the wider one was at the back and the smaller one at the front, from afterlife on this has been reversed. Wish they would swap them to their proper orientation again.
You would like @Ectoreplicacarmachanic (Greg the EctoTech) who's standing with me discussing the car - he picks up all the details - going to cover some of that stuff in the breakdown video I'm working on now! Thanks for the comment!
In gb1 and 2 on ecto1 it has 48in light bars front and rear. It got a 54in front bar in the late 90s and it was retained when the original car was restored in 2008-2009. When they made the cars for afterlife they did a 6 rotator front 54in light bar and kept that cohesive for frozen empire. The original 1984 car was not used for this film.
Thanks for giving us the detailed rundown here 😊👌
Is that a mustang v-8 in the Ecto-1?? The engine looks so familiar to me, and I knew it’s not like they were using the original one, and it’s gonna drive me crazy if I can’t place it
I know it’s a new engine - designed to give the car more power! But I’m not sure of the spec - however @ectotech will know for sure - you saw him checking out the car in the video - I’ll ask!!!
Modified GM LS motor
Yes, GM LS-1, overfueled as it used to fill the workshop with fumes every time it ran. 😂
Cortland State Red Dragons 👍👍
Yay! So glad someone noticed this!!! I wore the hat as a bit of an Easter egg! They say Venkman is teaching there in Ghostbusters Afterlife!!! Thanks for pointing it out!! Thanks for commenting!
Well as NYC looks like now, filming yet another sequel there in the future might be impossible
So good it was done before it went up in flames there as it is now😊
I think it will be fine 😊 I work in NYC and it’s not nearly as bad as the media makes out. I’ll be driving into the city in an Ecto replica in a few months 😊 hoping for many more GB films 😊
@@ExperienceExplorers Im happy to hear NYC will be fine😀
Ohh the fans will come mate
Ecto1 never stopped to be impressive
Its a masterpiece
at 11:15 some random dude donkey kicks thin air, what is he doing ? lol
I know right! Fighting a ghost maybe? This is by far the mildest thing I get to see in the streets of NYC! lol! 😂 - thanks for commenting!
マッケナグレイス応援してます
Mckenna is awesome!
I find funny that Phoebe's stunt actor actually looks more related to Harold Ramis than McKenna Grace.
Never thought of that! Yeah!
My first impression of the stunt doubles in those black robes made me wondering "why do they have Harry Potter in this movie?"
I know right!
I've added a section in my next video on the 'robes' and the Harry Potter vibes - it will be out tomorrow.
i thought like yea nice , behind the scenes of a movie that everyone watched years ago, and now i see scenes that i havent seen bfeore ?, like the last new one was made in that village with the ghosts there in that well and a dead man laying beneath it and there are earthquakes, sooo does it means that there will be another movie coming too ? or is alredy,
Yes the new film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is out this weekend 😊
@@ExperienceExplorers oh my god, thanks. I haven't heard that there's a new coming. Btw greetings from Germany it's rn when I write this 1:11am xD.
Hey 👋 to you in Germany!
Could be cool if they all would say "FOR EGON" right before they all light their proton packs together with the old guys😃
But its just my little fantasy world😊😊
Love that idea!
@@ExperienceExplorers 😃
Great job fellows no about that control thing. They did Have them under control when they had that panted the b******* going on. HHAAaaaa😂😂😂
All car scenes in Ghostbusters Afterlife were extremely anticlimactic. Everyone was waiting for the siren and/or the theme music, but nope, nothing. You could literally hear the disappointing "awww" in the theatre.
The dude with the NWO shirt, Greg, is he with the NJ Ghostbusters? He looks familiar.
He’s not part of the GB franchise - but well known in the community as the Ectotech 😊 he maintains and fixes up ectos - he’s the mechanic for the ecto1_nj the car I do promotion for (Ghost Tours of NYC). You can find Greg at @ectotech on insta and @ecto1_nj is the car.
You idiots, you captured their stunt doubles. Sorry, couldn't resist
LOL 😂
I understood that reference!
We belive decals not on new ecto
Looks that way
It's very fun to wonder what's happening, but I certainly hope you didn't ruin anything about the story for yourselves.
I can firmly say we did not (having seen the the film at the premiere his week) 😊
Noice
@@ExperienceExplorers Did you liked it?
Yes I did 😊
Ecto needs alot of work because they used a junk LS engine in her! Should have kept the original Cadillac engine with a EFI set up. Not a boat anchor LS engine.
I only wish you didn't play music while you were speaking.
Thanks for the comment - I’ll consider the levels more carefully in the next video
Too bad the movie was a dud but at least they tried. It was clearly written for the 5-13 kids age group.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy it!
Ecto-1 it’s not a girl😂
It’s traditional to call vehicles - particularly ships ‘she’ or ‘her’
@@ExperienceExplorers no trucks or males, cars or females The Ghostbusters car is a truck according to the movies
@@ExperienceExplorers The Ghostbusters vehicle is a truck so it’s a male because trucks are built for work cars are not it’s an ambulance and an ambulance is a truck.
@@phantom6596 so ships aren’t built for work? It’s just tradition - the Ectotech who repairs and maintains Ectos - always calls them ‘old girl’ . But you are free to call them old man if you want it’s up to you 😊
@@ExperienceExplorers Appreciate that
I have some major concerns about this film.
Hopefully they will be resolved when you see it in the theatre 😊
@@ExperienceExplorers I hope so, but I doubt it. This film has the same writers as Ghostbusters Afterlife.
