    Excellent video. Thanks for trying it all out. I clenched the same time you two did. Glad the system reacted well. Lane centering does have some quirks on 2 lane roads. Thanks for sharing with us.

    I find the resume acceleration from a stop light to be too slow for my expectations and those of drivers behind me in city driving, so I use the accelerator pedal to resume when the light goes green.

    I BlueCruised through Chatanooga traffic, about 3 weeks ago, on the way to Nashville. Two miles per hour so everybody sees you. It was freaken' awesome & totally stress free. Actually stop-n-go situations would make more likely to renew the subscription than wide open roads.

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using systems like BlueCruise in stop-n-go is so underrated! Most people talk about the performance on long boring drives. That is relatively easy and stress free. These systems are so valuable when you are stuck in freeway traffic!

    Thanks for all the help with my Mach-E. I was much more sure about the purchase after watching your videos! Definitely hammer the engineers about accelerating from a stop and slowing for stopped cars. That thing is ridiculous. Like a 15 year old on a learner’s permit. Also, why can’t they show a map of where Blue Cruise highways are mapped? And why aren’t they mapping more? We’ve been stuck at 130,000 miles of roads forever.

      😂😂Thanks! A map in the nav would be nice, though. Now I can see why they avoided putting up a map! Zoom in on any city, and you’ll see literally dozens of gaps! Some are on curves, others only on one side of the road, and still others possibly for no reason at all. Ask the engineers about that!

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@metojeff It just reverts to hands on and it is usually because there is a tight lane or sharper curve. Most systems out there require hands on 100% of the time.

  • @TechnicalLee

    Just to confirm, I think you were trying to say that automated lane changes only work in pre-mapped Blue Zones? In both lane centering and hands-free modes? Also it seems like there's a minimum vehicle speed before automated lane changes will be allowed?

  • @JesseStarrPhoto
    @JesseStarrPhoto ปีที่แล้ว

    In that construction zone situation, would it still keep you in the lane? Going through stop and go traffic in a construction zone is made so much better by automatic cruise control and I’d hope the Mach E can do that.

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  ปีที่แล้ว

      It handles most construction zones fine but that one throws it off for some reason. In lots of other construction zones, it may cancel the hands free portion, but the lane centering works fine (as long as there are still lanes it can see).

      @@lkuhn65 is right-there isn’t. But if you check Settings->Driver Assistance->cruise control: adaptive cruise control, there will be two new options if you have BlueCruise 1.2. One of them is to turn on or off automatic lane change assistance; the other is something about scooch mode, I can’t remember what it’s called and can’t find it on the ‘net (guess which version I have). Awesome practical-impressions video! Thanks.
    Does BlueCruise automatically disengage when you turn the wheel to correct it?
    I ask because I like Hyundai’s system where both you and the computer simultaneously drive, continuously, all the time it’s engaged: You are still “pilot in command,” in that, if you disagree with the computer, you always win, but if you get distracted and don’t make a curve, it likely “has your back.”

    • @MachE_VLOG
      @MachE_VLOG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I describe it as a cooperative system. You can still guide it without the system disengaging. For example, the other day I had it on when I saw some tire debris in the road. I guided the Mach-E around the debris Ave when I was done, the car steered back to the center of the lane.

    • @mr88cet
      @mr88cet ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MachE_VLOG, excellent! I prefer that approach over systems like Tesla’s, where (last I heard at least, where either you are in control or the computer is, so it will disengage if you correct it.
      Is that how It works - cooperatively driving - both on the hands-free BlueCruise system and on its hands-on ADAS system for unmapped roads?
