BlueCruise has been great for me, once it was finally activated. Took a little while because my maps expired while the car was in transit last year. The only time I've found the system to struggle are on left-hand exits ... feels like it really wants to follow that left side of the lane. All of the other issues are in places where I feel like I would want to take control anyway (construction zones, tunnels, etc). My daughter even knows that when my dash turns blue, the 'robot pony' is doing the driving. That said, I never fully trust it. I'm frequently looking around and ahead to see if there's any places I can anticipate the system having an issue, but it's a different level of focus than standard driving would have. Even when hands-free, I basically keep my hand next to the wheel, resting on my knee, so I'm ready to take over if I need to. We're going on a road trip next weekend, and I was hoping we'd have 1.3 by then, but we should be good with 1.2 for that trip.
Very nice video. Blue Cruise has been so great for long road trips. Being able to stay hands free for a long time means I can focus more on the road and what other drivers are doing. I can't wait for this update. The automatic lane changes are awesome but I'm really excited about the car moving over in the lane when passing car/trucks and slowing down a little bit for tighter turns. Those are pretty much the only moments when I would provide input in hands free mode.
We PAID UP FRONT on our 2022 F-150 for this Blue Cruise "STUFF"! ($1995.00). It is just NOT very Smart, I assume since FORD Refuses to send out any "UPDATES" to our F-150's 1.0 Blue Cruise, our Confused system will continue to be Confused???? On Interstate 5 to Los Angeles (in a Straight Line), It works Fine, In most other Conditions, it does whatever it want's whenever it want's? My Wife Hates it and Don't want be in the TRUCK with me when I use it. 😬.... Turns Off and On, Can't follow Extremely LONG gradual Turns with out disengaging, wants to keep toward the RIGHT side of the Lanes (Scary), and is just Quirky. The Start Stop Feature of the Blue Cruise In Traffic seem to be the Best part on our Truck??? Common F O R D....... You Took Our Money without even Blinking an Eye, (DIDN'T YA)???? Ya, Ya Did!!!!! all $88,000.00 of it!!!!!????🤔. And we got what for it???????? A POWER UP SOFTWARE UPDATE??? On May 03,2023. And that did WHAT?????
I assumed when I bought my new Mustang Mach E that I owned the car and everything that came with it. Now I've learned that Blue cruise is only a loan. Funny no one menchend that during the buying process. Now I'm watching my tire close.
8:03 - All the features you're showing in "BlueCruise 1.2" are actually 1.3 features. I have 1.2, and none of those three features exist in that version. If you are driving a 2023 Mach-E, it came with 1.3. 17:00 - BlueCruise IS engaged. It's only the hands-free mode that is not engaged. BlueCruise is the general name for the ADAS system. If you see the icon at the bottom showing a wheel with hands on it, you are still in BlueCruise, it's just not confident enough to let you go hands-free in that situation. There are three steps to BlueCruise - throttle control and lane assist, steering and lane centering (hands on), and hands-free driving.
The Mach-E isn't the only hands-free game in town. Check out how the Nissan Ariya performs: th-cam.com/video/dkIMOwml-OM/w-d-xo.html

Glad to see Craig brought up the lack of BlueCruise in Mercury models, but I am wondering why no Edsels have it.
That's a great question! Jim Farley really needs to up his game. 🤣
OpenPilot in my 23 sonata does this and more 100% of the time on any road lol
Love open pilot 😊
