    Do you have garden furniture that's looking like is ready for the trash? Would you take the time to refinishes it? While it looks like a lot of work to me it's so worth it to bring it back to life.

    You and your husband did a great job. I have two vintage metal chairs I plan to restore.

      Thanks so much Cynthia! That sounds like fun! You'll have to let us know how they turn out when you get them finished. We'd love to see a before and after picture 🙌🏻

    Hello again Just got around to repainteing my lawn chairs and I am having trouble cutting out the designs on the front back part of the chair how did yo cut your designs without nicking the new paint ?

      Apologies for the delayed response. That's great to hear you're tackling your own chairs! 🙌🏻 We just used an exacto knife and tried to be careful. If you do nick the new paint, it should still be ok because you'll be applying a new coat of paint with the accent color.

      Didn't she do a great job Barbara? I'm also drawn to old warn items with character, but I think I like this better after a little TLC!

    The design you used that tape to make, shows your experience ❣️❣️❣️

      The design was actually engraved into the chair prior to us giving it a new paint job. But yes, we did use that tape to mask it off before we painted it black. Thanks for watching and for your sweet comment!

    Nice job. I have a similar lawn chair but the 1” tube on mine is completely rusted completed thru. It needs to be replaced. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Steve G.😊

      Thank you Steve. You might try a metal supply store. Here in Utah we have one called Metal Mart that carries all different types of metal. Another thought would be to try a pipe like electrical conduit. I know there are pipe benders you can purchase for about $15-20 and bend electrical conduit. Good luck, let us know if you're able to replace your pipe.

    Did you use any clear coat to give it a shine and help protect the paint?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question Samantha! No we didn't apply any kind of top coat. The paint we used was exterior grade.

    I am planning on Refinishing 2 Metal chairs in the near future , And I thank you for your Video . However I am concerned On the Rust Oleum Reformer And the Color of Paint I am choosing .
    I Want to use Purple / Yellow Paint When Finished Do you think I will have trouble Covering the Blackness of the Reformer ?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Not at all. The reformer acts as a primer which you will need to use. The paint should have opaque coverage.

    how do i repair small rust holes?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! You could use bondo to patch the holes and then sand them smooth before painting. Bondo is used for car repairs so it's perfect for outdoor metal furniture too.

    does one need a mask/ respirator?

    • @2thesunnyside
      @2thesunnyside  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question Jackie! It definitely doesn't hurt to wear one. We always spray outside so there's plenty of fresh airflow, but a mask would definitely keep you from breathing in a lot of the overspray dust.
