Developed by Factor 5 and LucasArts and published by LucasArts, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader was released for GameCube in November, 2001. Rogue Squadron II is an amazing sequel. It lets players participate some famous battles from the films with improved and refined gameplay.

I remember getting a GameCube on launch day, I was bummed I didn't get Luigi's mansion as it was sold out but got rogue leader instead and my jaw dropped when I saw the graphics, same with resident evil remake.
These games need to be remastered
I'd love to see Nightdive Studios remaster these games. They've done the Turok Trilogy, Star Wars Dark Forces, and the just announced The Thing Remastered.

This was the first Game i saw for the sixth Generation.
I was simply blown away!
I remember a friend played the first Level (Death Star) and i was watching.
My brain couldn´t comprehend what was going on. It was simply perfect!
This and Smash Bros Melee were my first Gamecube games.
I honestly found the 1st game the better out of the 3 since the difficulty was balanced as was the missions. When it comes to the 2nd and 3rd games I had to use the codes to unlock certain missions since trying to get gold is a bitch
Part 3 had 'expert' medals. Most are impossible to get unlike the gold. I'm still sad Rogue Squadron 3 did include Star Wars Arcade Trilogy (by SEGA). We got the Atari games instead.
What a damn shame the lead system the PS2 didn't mach the Gamecube and Xbox in terms of power. Those are some Xbox 360 level graphics.
I remember watching playthroughs of this as a kid and being blown away by the graphics.
I got a copy of Rogue Squadron from Goodwill a few years later and I've been meaning to play this since.
I remember how mind-blowing it was that a mission changed dramatically depending on the IRL time of day you played it at! 🤯
I was pretty miffed back when this first came out that there wasn't going to be a PC port this time around - and to this day there still hasn't been a PC port or any sort of remaster for any of these games. I know rumors keep coming up year after year that a remaster of the 3 games might be coming sooner or later, but as of now it hasn't happened sadly.
this game showcased some of the best graphics on the GameCube.
Nintendo please release a remaster of this on the Switch or new console.
Its really bizarre that Bounty Hunter came to PC before this. I hope we get a rerelease.
I discovered that Imperial Academy Heist has two modes. If you play during morning times on the clock, the level will be a daytime level, but if you play later in the evening or night, the level is dark and foggy.
I was a fan of the dogfight levels on Shadows of the Empire. When I got my GC in late 2001, the second game I rented was this one. I remember taking the bus, going to the rental store and getting this game for an entire week just to drop it after about 1h of playing it... I found the game super boring and generic. The game just sat there for a week... And I didn't have any other title to play since the GameCube was brand new (since as a Brazilian teenager, I could afford the console for Christmas - barely, but I also had to way for my birthday 6 months later to finally get a game - I got F-Zero GX, now THAT was a fine choice, holy shit).
Fast forward 20 years and I bought Star Wars Squadrons for the PS4 thinking I would finally play a cool spaceship Star Wars game and... I found that piece of crap to be unplayed. Hell, I couldn't even see WTF was going on. Men, it was even worse. Rogue Squadron was generic, but at least it was playable... WTF was that PS4 game? Damn!

I was playing this at a kiosk in a store back in the day. I was a huge fan of the first game on the N64. I could not believe the graphics - way ahead of its time when it was released. I too feel that the graphics still hold up today.
I remember seeing screenshots of this game and thinking "There's no way it can look THAT good"

For me one the best star wars games on any console.
Imagine if Rogue Squadron 1 was remade with '2s engine and frame rate. I still want that... Sadly without an actual Gamecube or Wii there's no 100% legal way to play Rogue Squadron 2 or 3.
To this day dolphin still struggle to emulate this perfectly

This game felt more like a chore to play than the original. I was personally disappointed with it, nice graphics though.
i was so sad that his never came out for the PC at the time. i played it 20 years later on an emulator as its notoriously hard to emulate even today. with the HD texture pack on PC at 4k its still looks amazing.
Great memories of this and Luigi's Mansion at launch!
Also if you play this on a modified Wii via Nintendont it plays at a PERFECT 60fps, still looks and plays great 👍
