I made the ladyfingers closer together so they were slightly joined. It made it so much easier to put around the pan, sort of like corrugated cake, lol.
If you are referring to Hopla Cream I don’t recommend using the product that comes out of a can, these usually deflate quickly. I recommend using the Hopla Cream product you whip yourself, it will be more stable.
+jemayma newland I chose the Bavarian Cream because it was thickened with gelatin and will hold it’s shape when cut. Any mousse will work too. I hope this clears things up.
+jemayma newland Any gluten free lady finger will work for the Charlotte, I suggest using a specific recipe for gluten free lady fingers rather than modifying this one.
Lovely cake. We are sad you didn't cut it open and show us!!

If I'm not able to find gelatin leaves, can I substitute it with unflavored powder gelatin?
Lisa Kou Yes, you can use the gelatin powder, for 1 gelatin sheet use ½ teaspoon of the gelatin powder.
Hi, if I make it with powdered gelatin, how much should I add?

Another very similar recipe adds stiffly beaten egg white to the Bavarian cream. Any thoughts on that?
Bro Rebellion Folding in whipped egg whites will make the Bavarian much lighter.
