I just want to say here because I don't think this is mentioned enough but this video is perfect for visual learners and especially students with ADHD. This is definitely the best ramachandran plot video and visualization I have seen! P.S. I am a BME PhD student with ADHD who came in with a non-biology engineering background currently thrown into graduate biochemistry so if this 1 video can bring a part of an entire biochem course chapter together then you deserve to know how awesome this is!
Wow. Just wow. I’ve been struggling to imagine these angles with my head nor by looking at the textbook. This solved the problem!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much for making this, i was beginning to think id never understand phi and psi angles, after your video i was left wondering why i thought i couldnt
The first time I actually understood Ramachandran plot and the phi and psi angle!!! (I first came across it during first year uni and now I have graduated) It's so hard to understand without animation. Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!
Noting but gratitude to you, SIr. And the best part is you enable teachers to present this material, and they can choose not to mention your name. This is truly what open knowledge is, and it cannot come from small minds. I'll strive to achieve this kind of mindset. Thanks a ton.
Hey, I dint know how or thank you this is really amazing I have never seen someone giving a test after a lesson on youtube really happy for that Nice explanation too. Good start to my day.
I watched lots of videos on Ramachandran plot but none of them make me understand . Thanks a lot sir for this well explanation. Plz make some more videos on protein structure and chemical bonding we shall remain thankful to you
I hope, my teachers had this kind of tools and willingness to make this concept so much clear. BUT I WILL SHOW THIS TO MY STUDENTS AND TRY MY BEST.........
Thank you. It was fun to do. I knew for years that it was possible to show the clashes forming dynamically. Since nobody else did it, I finally got around to it.

hello sir i didnt get just one thing - in the graph psi is fixed at -165 ° it should occur on x axis and angles -70° to -170° should be the range on y axis n where phi is fixed at -80° it should cut through y axis ... right plz enlighten me with the solution to this query...!! thnk u

Sir, could you please tell where in the Ramachandran plot do beta turn conformations (type I and II) and conformations of unfolded proteins lie?
Ty for the video. The quiz was also helpful!

Thank you for this video, I understood this part of my course thanks to you!
Thanks for the video Eric. What program did you use to animate the bonds with electron clouds and the clashes? very nice to visualize.
I'm sorry I forgot to credit Jmol. All molecular graphics were done with it: Jmol.org.
Good explanation. Easy to understand
