Monk's robes are normally called habits, so the Franciscans wear brown like Fr Mark Mary, and the Dominicans wear white li fr Gregory. It is complicated by a black robe over the white - similarly the Carmelites wear brown habits, with a white robe in choir, the Benedictines black, the Cistercians white with black scapular. The Jesuits in the old days used to wear a black habit with lots a of buttons down the front and "wings" on their shoulders. Now you hardly ever see a person wearing a religious habit in the street, which is a shame, because it is a great sign. So we ordinary people can be signs by wearing the scapular even under our clothes, because it is visible on one's neck at the back! ☀️

Thanks so much for the video! What are your thoughts on the Fivefold Scapular Devotion? I have read that St. Alphonsus Liguori wore a Fourfold Scapular.
The scapular is the kind of thing that makes Catholicism seem foreign and strange to me even though I converted to the Faith 20 years ago. Fr. Pine explains it beautifully, and yet I can see how many people, both Catholics and people who hate the Church, think the scapular is either magical or superstitious.
I had my priest bless mine, I forget how many years ago. Is it valid because I don’t remember if he prayed the induction prayer. Should I not be scrupulous about it and assume I was inducted?

Basically, it depends. You should go check out the Sisters of Carmel website, I just discovered it and it has a bunch of helpful information on what the reasons are that it would be wool and in what circumstances you could opt for a metal version.
I keep trying to google the daily prayers I have to say for my brown scapular I just got and I’m having the HARDEST time finding clear answers, can someone comment it to me or link me where I can find it?

I don’t understand. The promise of the scapular and other devotions seems so powerful that I find it unbelievable. Like if true the priests are not being dutiful because they should be giving these out and making sure everyone knows about them and has one. Basically treating it like a baptism or gospel. How do you explain the discrepancy between the promise and what leadership is doing
Towards the end of this video you talk about making up for the lack of the sufferings of Christ, what do you mean by that? As far as I know the Sacrifice of Christ is perfect and does not lack anything. Please explain!
Can you please do a video on Mary’s role as mediator, you touched on it here...would like clarity that her mediation is useless without Christ, as she still goes to Christ who is our ultimate mediator with the Father...
Issues. (1) the claim "if you wear the scapular *devoutly* you won't go to Hell." This is redundant stated the way it is stated. Being devout at death by itself guarantees you won't go to Hell. (2) another scapular says, "if you wear this, you won't spend more than a week in purgatory" (or something like that. Yet the Church already has, in the manual of Indulgences, granted an *automatic* plenary indulgence at the moment of death to every Catholic who prays regularly through their life

So yes my scapular save me and the holy elderly priest. From bad harm. My testimony for scapular . In Faith. This happened about two years ago. So awareness of self and others even in church is a wise thing to share with you in these challenging times . Today Oct. 2021 time. So thank you for your You Tube video on scapular. As a faithful tool like Rosary so yes indeed. Amen thank you in Jesus Christ. Name Amen.
This is a really good explanation thank you I were one and love to where it
Well. They work well.
What are the books inthe background?
That was awesome thank you!!
Does one have to register themselves in something to wear the scapular?
Thanks so much for the video! What are your thoughts on the Fivefold Scapular Devotion? I have read that St. Alphonsus Liguori wore a Fourfold Scapular.
How does one go about wearing a scapular in the ocean and pool with chlorine? I’m worried that it will come off or in will ruin my medals?
Would I be correct in assuming that this same logic applies to Benedictine medals which reportedly have exorcising capabilities?
Yes
Where can I buy a wool brown scapular hopefully made in America? So many scapulars now still made in China and not wool.
a convent especially carmelite convent! The sisters handmade them and selling for a very affordable price.
Great explanation! Thank you 🙏🏽
I had my priest bless mine, I forget how many years ago. Is it valid because I don’t remember if he prayed the induction prayer. Should I not be scrupulous about it and assume I was inducted?
My girlfriend gave me a scapular and I loved it, but when our love fell apart I lost my scapular 2 months after it was a sign....i held onto it like as if it was a piece of her and I lost it. Sure sign to move on.
@@жжжж-ш9р I was blessed when she gave it to me and I did get a new one by my spiritual mother who had it blessed in Missouri. It's been over a year and I still wear it daily pray the rosary daily
@@chrisantolich9205 I was just saying she gave one to me and one to my sister in law and it was already blessed. I know the scapular is much more important than a gift from a girlfriend but I was just saying how I held onto it and it was blessed by a priest I now have a new one given to me by my spiritual mother she got in missouri and blessed.
@@chrisantolich9205 It is quite alright and just a mis understanding statement. I have come a long way. I wasn't religious at all. I was fake religous when I met her, but it wasn't until she broke up with me that I've seen a new light that was hidden from me by pride and ego of the past. I still struggle some but trying to improve every day on my walk with Jesus and devotion to the immaculate heart of Mary
@@chrisantolich9205 Amen God is good and Alleluia
@@ccbarr58 There was a group of ladies with a priest that were all scapular ladies. I went to one of the houses where the priest celebrated a mass is that what you were talking about? I went, but the scapular was given to me by my spiritual mother and yes I pray the rosary daily not because I was aware that I had to do it while wearing the scapular but I felt convicted so when I was given the first scapular I just automatically felt compelled to pray the Rosary daily and it's been almost 2 years been praying Rosary every day.
I want to ask what does the priest is supposed to say when we ask about the wearing,I ask a priest and he said he didn't know, but I know that the priest does say some kind of prayer over you to . Could you please explain this to me its important I want to wear it.
Can the scapular be of metal instead of fabric?
Yes.
No
Basically, it depends. You should go check out the Sisters of Carmel website, I just discovered it and it has a bunch of helpful information on what the reasons are that it would be wool and in what circumstances you could opt for a metal version.
I wear mine all the time. My Priest said I do not have to register it. Is that true???
I keep trying to google the daily prayers I have to say for my brown scapular I just got and I’m having the HARDEST time finding clear answers, can someone comment it to me or link me where I can find it?
Wearing the scapular is the prayer. All that is required is being enrolled by any priest.
@@Michael_WalshThanks for this answer, was looking for prayers Devotions for Scapular 🙏
Any comments about the purple scapular?
Amen🙏🏻❤️
Another question I have is should you get a new rosary if it gets mess up through bathung, or do you keep it like that. God bless and thank you
Why are you wearing your rosary? It’s not a necklace.
I did not know what a scapula was for. I'm embarrassed to let you know how old I am and that I should have known this. 😂❤ I should have know. I saw them everywhere when I was a young girl. Never wore it though. We used to keep it hanging over our bed posts. Thank you for this information. ❤
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Is it true that if you don't display the scapular on the outside of your clothes that you're not receiving grace?
It sounds as if your understanding is already clear on how it works.
Yet the Church already has, in the manual of Indulgences, granted an *automatic* plenary indulgence at the moment of death to every Catholic who prays regularly through their life
I never heard of a Scapular that guarantees only a week in Purgatory.
And what would “a week in Purgatory” even mean? Time doesn’t work the same way there, I’m pretty sure.
