  • Who is Our Lady of Mount Carmel and what is her message? What is the Brown Scapular and what is Church teaching surrounding its wearing and the promises/graces attached to it? In anticipation of the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC shares the story traditionally associated with its existence and the promises extended to those who wear it by Our Lady.
Watch Fr. Chris Alar and the Marian Fathers and Brothers from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy on our new show Living Divine Mercy airing every Wednesday at 6:30pm EST on EWTN. Through teaching segments, Bible and St. Faustina Diary excerpts, as well as real-life examples of people who are living Divine Mercy in their lives, you will learn why Jesus said Divine Mercy is mankind's last hope of salvation! You are truly God-sent Fr Chris. With your powerful reflections on any topic about faith, you've touched my slumbering faith. At 76 I've thought I knew enough but listening to you the more I hunger for God's Divine Truth.
I am a devotee of the Brown Scapular.
God's anointing be always upon you Fr Chris. God be praised!

I live only about 35 miles from Aylesford, Kent, England where St Simon Stock was the first Prior. The shrine was desecrated at the reformation and restored in 1949. Since then it has been a place of pilgrimage and organised pilgrimages take place between April and October each year and private pilgrimages or visits can be made any time of year. The shrine has a guest house where pilgrims may stay.

This is a very touching episode for me: Mount Carmel and the Brown Scapular, thank you for making this beautiful presentation, Fr. Chris. It’s leading me back to my many and rich experiences as a Carmelite Nun and my fruitful fresh memories of Jesus’ footprints in Israel. From April 6 - 16, 2015, I was in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land of 5 persons including 2 priests, mostly under the guidance of the older priest. One of the places we visited was Mount Carmel and nearby stands the huge statue of St. Elijah… and the biblical story. Our Lady of Mount Carmel and her brown scapular bind us all to her dear heart as a loving mother, giving us the love, care and protection no one else could ever do. Thanks again, Fr. Chris and all who supported with their wonderful experiences on this episode. God bless all the children of Mary and the Marian family.

Hi Ofelia, thank you for another thoughtful and historical presentation of your faith filled and grace filled life. After this presentation, I ordered the brown scapular presented in the 7/13 LDM episode from EWTN with Our Lady of Guadalupe and St Jude, plus the St Benedict medal. I always sit in the side Our Lady of Guadalupe chapel, when I attend Mass. My parish priest, who is also a third order Carmelite, did a beautiful blessing and enrollment and exorcism ( St Benedict) for me on Monday (7/18/22). The brown scapular is just one more blessing I’ve been blessed to learn about since joining the Marian family a few short months ago. God bless you Ofelia.

Fr Ihave a miracle in my brown scapular last month. After the blessing of the Priest over my brown scapular. My brown scapular get a red blood stain. And I don't know where it came from because I'm not exposed to any red color, nor using any red clothes, and I have no wounds in that time, until today I'm still thinking where it came from, and also I washed it but the red stain cannot be erased, and the red stain shaped like a letter J or tau cross. Many times I washed it but the red stain cannot be erased until today, and the red stain is not an ordinary stain, but a stain of blood. The red stain appeared after the Priest blessed my scapular, but before the blessing there is no red stain appeared. The greatest miracle that I ever experienced.

You might want to read Jeremiah 44:1- 30

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  ปีที่แล้ว

Since Jeremiah was written in 600 BC, it obviously isn't referring to Mary. The term "Queen of Heaven" was used to refer to various pagan deities. First, the mother of Jesus cannot be pagan and secondly, no Catholic teaching treats her as a diety. Jeremiah was referring to every pagan pantheon that had a ruling deity called "King of Heaven." Was that king of heaven Jesus? No. And neither is the Queen of heaven, the corresponding female pagan deity, Mary. He was referring to the Canaanite pagan goddess Astoreth, the wife of Baal, who they called Queen of Heaven. He was condemning worship happening in his own day, so how can that be Mary? She wasn't born yet. You might want to read it as 2,000 years of the Church have. God bless.

PRAYER TO MARY, QUEEN OF THE ANGELS
[ August Queen of Heaven Prayer ]
    An Indulgence of 500 days.
    (S. C. Ind., July 8, 1908; S. P. Ap., Mar. 28, 1935)
August Queen of Heaven and Mistress of the Angels, thou who hast received from God the power and the mission to crush the head of Satan: we humbly ask thee to send to us thy heavenly legions so that, under thy command, they may pursue the demons let loose upon the earth, fight them everywhere, vanquish their audacity, and drive them back into the abyss.
    “Who is like unto God?”
O good and tender Mother, thou shalt ever be our love and our hope.
O divine Mother, send the Holy Angels to defend us [me] and repel far from us [me] the cruel enemy.
Holy Angels and Archangels, defend and keep us. Amen.
    THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS PRAYER
    [Please Read]
The faithful are asked to say this prayer frequently and fervently. It is of great importance given the following remarkable background:
[1] The prayer was dictated by the Blessed Mother herself to the holy and venerable priest, Fr. Louis-Édouard Cestac, on January 13, 1863 as a means to combat the powers of Hell.
[2] An exorcism prayer in itself, this is a formidable prayer for “spiritual battle” especially needed for our times when the ravages caused by the fallen angels are everywhere conspicuous and unrelenting.
[3] It is a prayer approved by the Church: It was recommended to the faithful by Pope Pius IX, and later indulgenced by both Popes Leo XIII and Pius X.

Had my scapular blessed and enrolled. However, the websites I read year 2015 said that it is a must for enrolled to wear it and pray either a rosary or little office of Our Lady *everyday.

    *THE IMMUTABLE LAW OF GOD*
*I* I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
*II* You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
*III* You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
*IV* Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
*V* Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
    *VI* You shall not murder.
*VII* You shall not commit adultery.
    *VIII* You shall not steal.
*IX* You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
*X* You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
    Exodus 20:2-17

Thank you but the Commandments are not numbered in the Bible

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The Commandments are not numbered in the Bible. They come from Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, but neither clarifies how to divide them, as they are not numbered in the Bible. Catholics use St. Augustine’s version and Protestants use that of the Greek Fathers. The two forms have slightly different numbering, but maintain exactly the same meaning. For example, it is said that Catholics eliminated the second commandment not to worship graven images. But that is included in the 1st commandment of not having any false Gods. According to Ex 20, graven images are not forbidden by God (God commanded Moses to carve images for the Ark of the Covenant) but it is the WORSHIP of them that is forbidden, and we Catholics do not do that. We still must follow the 10C’s today because they were written ‘with the finger of God’ rather than by Moses like the other parts of the Jewish law, which Jesus fulfilled. That is Church teaching.
