We showed pictures of seven hottest American celebrities to six Chinese guys in Shanghai, and asked about their opinions on the celebrities' look.
From the video, we can tell that the different beauty standard is different in China and America.
We do not want to promote any body shaming or racism. We love all the celebrities.

We all know america has the highest obesity percentage in the world so to us, these celebs look pretty average/normal. In china or in asia in general, people are much skinnier and guys prefer seeing small thin women rather than extremely curvy women. So any girl who has a little more meat on their bones can be seen as "fat" lol

Chinese and Americans have pretty different body standards. There is a saying “great girls are never over 50kg” And fat shaming is not a thing in china . The social norm is “you are fat so you deserve it”. I know cuz I am fat and we have it rough lmao.

Ok but how does a woman with DD breasts, hourglass figure and a large butt "look like a man" that's literally what most women have, obviously not as big but one of the main attractiveness of a womanly figure are breasts and curves compared to men. Not saying that flat chested women aren't attractive but when you think of the average/ideal woman you don't think of a manly figure. If that's the case then most Chinese/Asian woman must really look like men since they tend to have small breasts and no curves. I can see if he said "shes looks like a trans women" which would be rude but would make more sense but a man? really? She is literally the polar OPPOSITE of the average man.

When you know more about Asian girl. You will understand what does this Chinese means what they said. Their ideal of beauty is different. And honestly speaking not because of my account name that's why I side the asian. But speaking the truth, living in asia because we have the privilege to encounter feminine style girls, we feel that kind of style is more prettier. Asian guys tend to like more gentle speaking or behavior girls. And guys judge based on what you show outside. To Asian guys, tan girls seems a bit sporty and not gentle (something like that). Furthermore, apparently many western celebrities tend to have a bit of larger hand. That is why asian guy don't feel they are pretty except for some.

Also "American women" covers SO many races While "Chinese women" are 95% of the time "Chinese" so you can't compare the two. I think it is difference in culture. Asian American guys would find most of these women attractive. I mean Selena Gomez is gorgeous to me. I get Nikki got too much booty, but women like Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are very pretty women by American standards. These guys are native Chinese guys who don't have any exposure to American culture, so their taste is very different. Basically, they haven't been brainwashed by Hollywood yet.

People are so offended by different beauty standards. Compare the people walking around in Asia and those in America you will see the size difference. They don't have any negative thing against American beauty standards, just like you don't think pale skin is pretty, they don't think certain size are pretty. They did not force people to be skinny, but people are generally much skinnier in China than in America due to what they eat. They said it with no offense. This video is about seeing different culture and beauty standards, not to see other people complimenting your celebrities or culture standards.
