Congrats on the grades. It's nice knowing your investigating other examples of cards paid off. Centering doesn't need to be perfect for some cards, but I do tend to find them a little more strict on older cards.
Yeah honestly i think they have zero interest in adding new Kobe/LeBron level rookies to the pop report. This newer stuff or numbered stuff i think gets a better grade.
That hurts first card is not a ten u can tell it's way off thats what scares me about psa my barry sanders rookie sgc 10 dead center card couldn't get even 700 on ebay but a psa way of centered 10 was getting 1200 to 1300 dollars thats a big problem.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game. It is off center, but still with in there tolerance for a 10. We have learned how the companies grade differently and what they are looking for. We agree there should be some consistency with card grading: but there are to many variables to get them all to agree. Even With in each company depending on which grader gets the card, it could grade differently. It just depends on what the card holder/owner wants: if you are a collector you just want your card protected, to look sharp and have a fair grade. If you are an investor or flipper you just want the company that is gonna sell for the highest $ amount. Thanks for the comment.
Do you recommend cracking the slabs yourself and resubmit raw, or submit to PSA in the HGA cases for them to crack professionally? I'm not sure I trust myself cracking them lol
Lol it is definitely nerve wracking cracking them yourself, but we prefer to do it this way for a few reasons. First off, it is actually cheaper to crack and resubmit than to send it to PSA and have them do it. Second, we feel that it takes the potential for bias out of the occasion. If HGA have it a 9, but you think it’s a 10. You have a better chance at it gemming if you crack it and send it in rather than them looking at the grade and then regrading it. However, if you are worried about it potentially dropping from a 9.5 or 10 to a 9,m it is probably safer to send it to PSA with a note to only crack if it’s a 10. We have never done this, but it is an option.
@@nothingbutcardboard oh very interesting! Didn’t know it was more expensive, that’s great to know. And they’re all 9.5s. No 9.0 subgrades on any, all strong 9.5s, most have 10 centering. But I’m def still worried about bias for sure. And yep if I did send in the cases, would be with a minimum grade of 10. Appreciate the info! And congrats again on the huge returns!!
Harder in what way? It is pretty easy to crack SGC slabs. We have found that they have the best cross over to Gem Mint rate. But unfortunately nothing is guaranteed.
We have been testing with all the major companies and we’ve had pretty decent luck converting 10s to 10s. But you’re right, it is by no means a guarantee. We’ve had plenty of 10s go to 9s as well. Even some CSG 9.5s go to 8s.
@@jbortega1178 I have about 40 high end HGA cards, I on on the fence about cracking them and submitting to PSA. The HGA slabs are so nice for my PC, but if I want to sell them in the future....
Good problem to have, HGA slabs are nice and look good. With PSA getting “ there business” back in order, grading times and prices should get better. Wait until you get more serious about selling some and then crack and re-sub with PSA. You are still taking a chance, but most PSA 9s still out sell HGAs. And who knows, maybe HGAs resale value will rise in the future.
Thanks, we were very happy with the results. The AI Jon was referring to is the “ software” that HGA uses to scan the card. According to HGA this helps in the grading process.
Did you guys submit through a submitter or send them in yourselves? I m happy to see HGA 3/3 because i have some banger PC Jordans that i know will cross whenever i feel the need . Great video 👍🏻
You would have gone 0 for 5 had you chosen the crossover without cracking option. Also, when PSA grading inevitably gets cheaper and faster, your profits margins will grow.
Lol, thanks there are not many mustache fans anymore. I had 1 when I was younger and decided to bring it back. If it catches on in the hobby we will know where it started.
@@nothingbutcardboard I dont know if the newest video is the other half but i couldnt help but notice it was 3 9's and 2 10s.. I mean like i said maybe you get what you pay for.
It confirms that if PSA gave 9.5’s that’s what these cards would be.. 9.5 Funny how they have half grades for every # but 9.. so basically a 10 is a 9.5. PSA figured out we’ll skip the 9.5 and hand out 10’s cause guys like to nut lol
Yeah pretty interesting results. We’re going to test it on some CSG 9.5 slabs to see if they come back the same way. So far it seems that PSA is the most lenient grader.

Thanks Jim! We’re testing it out with some CSG 9.5 slabs in the next crossover video. It will be interesting to see how PSA grades their mint+.

Great video guys!! This was fun to watch.
Congratulations gotta love the Dolphins!!!
Boy I wish I could afford the hobby like that... that's a hobby within a hobby... looks like fun.
I feel better buying my sga 9.5s now..
Man, you guys killed it! Congratulations!
Thanks John!
You're right about the dings. I have a bent corner on a gold wilson and it's a psa 10
Nice! Congrats!

Real question...the industry seems to use the term "Let's go" often...where did this come from? I heard it from UFC fighters a few years back.
Lol good question! Honestly I’m not sure where it came from. But it does seem like a very popular phrase now a days.
Is it harder to do a cross over? Just curious cause I have a few modern nba autos graded SGC 10/9.5
Harder in what way? It is pretty easy to crack SGC slabs. We have found that they have the best cross over to Gem Mint rate. But unfortunately nothing is guaranteed.
Maybe an HGA 10 would get a gold label?
Could send in a bgs pristine and not get a 10 cause psa just rolls a dice with 9s and 10s.

Cuz there's no 9.5 grade!!!! So 10s and 9.5s can come back 9s 8s 7s.....uhg! Not a psa fan......
This is the reason why I don`t liks PSA.Slabs are boring as hell and 10s are easy to get...I prefer HGA any day.
HGA slabs are great for PC, but they just don’t have the resale value yet.

PSA is easy to get 10.
It depends on the card. But that’s what we have noticed too. They seem to be one of the most lenient grading companies
Congratulations guys great video however HGA don’t really have actual AI but it’s cool.

We submitted ourselves. If you did crack those Jordan’s you’ll have to tell us how they do!
Awesome. Did you guys pick these all up on ebay?
Yes we did! Thanks for the comment!
Why not just cover the front/score with the old labels instead of covering the back and the front with a post-it note?
Had to make sure we were not going to mistakenly show the grade.
That dude just hates saying "lets go"
LETS GOOOO lol
You would have gone 0 for 5 had you chosen the crossover without cracking option. Also, when PSA grading inevitably gets cheaper and faster, your profits margins will grow.
That’s an interesting point. I bet they are less likely to give out 10’s if they have seen other companies grades. Thanks for the comment!
Wow! 5-for-5!
We were ecstatic as you can tell 😂
Nice squirrel!!!
Thanks! I have no idea what this means annnnnnd I don’t think I’m gonna google it.
Nice mustache!!

Honestly it always seems to me if you pay the $50 vs $30 you tend to get a better gem rate. Just my aluminum hat theory.
Lol makes sense to me! We might be able to put that theory to the test when we get our $30 cracked slabs back in a week or so.

Great crossover speculation guys. I would sell them all before the season starts while the hype train is still on the tracks.
Great minds think alike. I love Tua and Jalen, but who knows how they will perform on the new offenses.

Aren't population totals getting messed up with all this cracking?
Yes pop count would be incorrect for the company of the original slab

So don’t buy PSA and buy SGC if want a true grade
