Gamers : AC is becoming COD of Ubisoft same game every year no change Also Gamers : AC is changing too much, it's not even AC anymore and has become COD of Ubisoft.
Mister K Agreed. The way I see it Ubisoft finally dared to do something different and I feel like the dev studios are having a blast not being confined to the same old formula. They've added so many features its crazy. RPG levelling, dialogue choices that impact the story, actual combat with different attacks, blocking, dodging and tons of abilities, in-depth NPC recruiting, mercenaries (kind of like a wanted system), massive 150 soldier battles of which you can impact the outcome, naval combat is back with your own ship that you can upgrade and I've probably missed a few things. Don't know about you but this all sounds awesome to me. These action-RPG elements in combination with the old AC climb-everything, lore and history is the reason I loved Origins and hated most other AC games before it. (Especially after Black Flag)
But honestly, it looks just like Origins with added elements. Alexios moves just like Bayek. I mean, it looks great & probably I'll get it, BUT only when it's on a good sale. Can't get it day 1, it's releasing between Spider-Man & RDR II. I only have so much $ & these companies have forced me to choose.
ShadowsDieThrice Ubisoft is honestly very pathetic. At least ashraf ismael and the team behind origins took a year off to work on the game. This looks like a poor excuse for an AC game especially because their going back to yearly releases. AC just isn’t good enough anymore
Odyssey looks amazing. Origins was awesome as well. People complained AC got repetitive so they changed the formula and now people are still whining they should go back to old AC. People would just whine about anything even if it is what they want. Definitely a must-buy for me.
Toe Nail they complained on issues with full sync and story going nowhere in Revelations, eventually removed both Games felt too pirate like which they removed, combat issue in unity so they removed that Ubi tends to remove than refine, neat to see a better version of origin albeit I'm sad they keep changing it
Anyone else think there should be an assassins creed Viking themed game think about It sail from Denmark to the United Kingdom and raid villages kinda like how ac black flag was when attacking forts run around cities raid monasteries And crew recruitment have a few dif types for example could be a brute type who tanks damage and hits hard but slow then the archers and even a berserker
Ghoulz I don’t think that would stop them. It’s an interesting story to tell. And they release a game every year. You don’t like this one you can see what they put out next year.
A must buy for me along with Divinity OS for Console and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. Looks like Odysseys the very thing to get me to enjoy Assasins Creed and play it again after the first three games sucked and turned me away. As a big RPG fan im particularly looking forward to Odyssey even though its not a true (tradititional) RPG.
It's hard for me to get hyped about these games anymore. Specially dumb to see combat turn into this kind of superpower extravaganza. Even if it fits within the "context" of the supernatural story within AC, it still feels so out of place. When it began, the AC teams understood the value of subtlety and the value of building up to big reveals, both in storytelling and gameplay. It gave an intriguing feel to AC, a feel that you never really had a good idea where the game was going, but you felt so invested in finding out. Now, Ubisoft has replaced that sense of wonder with spectacle. A big Ubisoft problem for me (and it's not exclusive to the AC series) is the extensive poor writing. Bad character design, horrible supporting characters, ridiculously bad voice acting (specially glaring in this new Odyssey game; both actors for male and female sound absurdly bad and forced) -- all these things plague what once used to be a powerhouse in storytelling. It's all cookie-cutter bullshit put there for the sake of getting the next paycheck. It always is, I assume, but this time it comes across more bluntly than ever. It's a shame.
SEMS you are not wrong, Ubisoft used to be a better company but now it just seems like they want money this game seems forced, In my opinion it looks exactly like ac origins except it’s set in Ancient Greece but then you look at other games like red dead redemption 2 and Spider-Man etc and they put time into those games as far as I’ve seen. I mean have you ever played shenmue those games were made to be played and enjoyed not just quick cheap ripoffs of other games, In fact I’m going to buy the PS4 port of it, ac used to be one of my favorite game series of all time. I received ac origins last year for my birthday and I played for about an hour got bored, said to myself “worst ac game ever” and then I apologized to my parents because I asked for the game in the first place. But enough about that in just short summary this game is just a quick cash grab and they didn’t put time into it to really give it that special ac charm that the other games had so I’m officially saying my goodbyes to the Assassins Creed franchise and I hope that Ubisoft makes better choices in the future
But in Odyssey you can get relationship with homosexual person- that's a big thing (jk that part sucks) Ghost of Tsushima look more interesting than Odyssey bullshit (better stealth open world game)
I liked AC Origins because it looked different and loved the gameplay changes over the others, this just looks like the Origins game. The environment isn’t really different enough to make me want to return for this iteration.
I disagree. They look much different imo. The desert didn’t appeal to me very much with Origins, but this Mediterranean location is much more beautiful. Plus, Odyssey will most likely be much more polished than Origins.
I hate to be that guy, but I just want a remastered Black Flag, with updated quests/collectibles (no more flying shanty bs) and Origin's climbing mechanics.
Im here for this rpg type AC if they make one in the Viking Era , that would be insane , being a viking raiding recruiting warriors etc , the Saxons could be the Templars
The Origins DLC looks pretty samey. And ship combat was never one of the main pillars of AC, it was an added on feature. Assassinations, Stealth and Parkour were the main pillars.
Origins was the first AC game I played that I actually liked, had any fun with and could actually be bothered to finish. Odyssey looks like Origins on steroids. Plus Ancient Greece, one of my personal favorite times of ancient history.
Assassin's creed syndicate was less than half a game. It took about 12 hours to complete everything in the game. Ubisoft were really taking the piss out of the customers in syndicate.
combat mechanics was fine in GoW, mixing up light, heavy, runic and skills you can unlock was fun combined with Atreus' bow lol there was nothing wrong with it, that guy with the glasses said AC origins was a disappointment and prefers this over Origins because it went back to the roots lol makes no sense since this feels like it has completely diverted from what AC is supposed to be about and probably didn't know how to use the combat system in GoW properly lol
People are trying to overanalyze this. This is pretty much Black Flag and the Witcher together, but you're a fuckin Spartan. This is awesome, and I'm good with it.
You don't need to have played Origins to play Odyssey, and I can tell you now that Odyssey will be better than its predecessor. You might as well get current.
Lil Eyes Based off all we've seen so far, it's more than just theory. It's been shown from the start we can choose the narrative. We can choose our gender, our way of life, our methods of engagement, and even our allegiance. That flexibility is beyond Origins' rigid tale. Seafaring returns, and recruitment along with it. We not only get to induct random soldiers into the crew, we also have the ability to add special crew mates that offer the ship special abilities. Speaking of the ship, it too can be customized, although I'm not aware to what extent. Misthios also has many abilities afforded by the Spear of Leonidas, ranging from the Shadow of Nyx, basically an invisibility cloak, to Call to Arms, a call to one or two of your crew mates to make a distraction or fight to the death. And of course, there are many fighting abilities as well, but I'd suggest you go and look at some of JorRaptor's videos to see more on these abilities. The map is larger than Origins', the story is broader and longer, and optional love affairs make their first appearance as well. Customization is deeper and more encompassing, and combat offers new opportunities for linking combos. There's a notoriety system, boss battles return on land and sea, and each soldier you kill has a real effect on the fighting strength of the occupying force of the province. The more you kill the easier a conquest battle may be. Simply put, there's a lot going on with Odyssey, certainly more than what Origins had to offer... There is some talk right now amongst the more sensitive fans about the seeming lack of polish with dialogue and facial animations, but I suspect most of that talk will fall by the wayside once the final product releases. Mechanically speaking, the game is shining right now. Don't forget to check out JorRaptor's channel for some premium videos on Odyssey.
Lil Eyes Well, that's my opinion. You may want to get a second or third opinion before you make a determined choice. I think Odyssey makes Origins obsolete, apart from the core story itself. If you want to experience the story of Origins, how the Brotherhood started, then by all means enjoy yourself, but it is a standalone story. You can always go back and purchase Origins once its value has dropped a bit as well, but by then they might already have another AC game out, lol.
iam fan of AC games from the beginning . like( Ezio trilogy)( black flag / AC3) and( unity / syndicate) it dosen't matter if odyssey and origins r identical it isn't new for ubisoft to do that as i said before. i liked origins and i think iam gonna like this too but it was a mistake from ubisoft to launch this game in 2018 it should be in 2019
Tell me, why should these companies try to evolve their games or put any effort into them if all gamers do is complain. They don't change anything, you all complain. They change stuff, you all complain. I'm very excited for this game and I'm VERY excited to see what direction the series is going in.
lol that guy with the glasses is funny, he said he didn't like origins because it didn't feel assassin creed nor it captured the feel while this one seems to have gone completely off course, doesn't even look nor feel like an assassin's creed game. Origins in many ways felt more like a true AC game, assassinations, targets, that assassin type feeling going after targets even though Bayek was just a medjay for the first half of the game, Bayek creating his own assassin guild while Aya creating her own at the end. The first DLC was all focused on the brotherhood lol like I said the dude is funny.
Rah B Yea sadly it's a reskin. Because it has the same mythology, side quests, story, characters, weapons, and dialogue. And definitely does't have two playable characters, dialogue choices, romance options, and hasn't been worked on for three years next to Origins. Because Origins definitely didn't reinvent the repetitive combat, clunky parkour, boring "open world",terrible animation's, and change the UI for the better. What a reskin, right? And this game is most certainly not expanding and telling the origins and tales on the intriguing lore of the whole AC universe.
Honestly, Syndicate was such a waste of potential. Not going to nag on and on about the copy paste npcs, though it NEEDS to be mentioned. But they could've really amped up the atmosphere. Vampyr did such an amazing job of Victorian London. Even the Sherlock Holmes games really push that filthy, ominous, cramped London feel that Syndicate really didn't replicate all too well. The game's repetition killed it for me despite in being set in one of my favorite time periods. The combat looked janky and had unnaturally fast and somewhat impractical movements, and didn't take long for you to realize how shallow it actually was. Props to the brutality of ol' Jack's fighting style, but the biggest problem with Syndicate was that everything 'looked' deeper and interesting, when in fact, it just wasn't. They could've added Penny Dreadfuls as collectables, WAY more interesting lore to debunk in mystery missions based on the vast amount of urban legends in England at the time, added greenhouses, an interactive theatre with shows like its older and much worse predecessor had, not just some once off mission location, a bathhouse, a customizable steam train hq, a Dartmoorish countryside location, or at least something all Ubisoft open worlds lack - interactivity. 19th century London is a place rife with concepts for games, but instead we got something that, though it wasn't horrible, could've really been one of the best installments in the franchise, should it have been done right. And I really hope they go back there and do it justice. But not before we FINALLY get Feudal Japan.
Gonna wait till it's cheap looks great but I've already played this game 6 months ago when I played Origins ,plus theirs so many different games releasing this year and next that I must play first
5:33 look at the gameplay footage it shows just how outdated and lazy the game mechanics is - NPC doesn't hear the character jumping right behind him, why bother calling it a steath game jeez
Cameron DeHart I see what you did there very good, very good indeed. This was very clever kudos to you kay-stion because it’s spelt like Quebec but it’s Kay nice nice I cannot get over this
Video been up for just one hour and half the comments are already cancer. We sank so low as a community, smh. Just ignore the game if its not to your liking, whats so nice to be toxic and shitpost it to no end?
So now you can jump clean off a cliff and not be hurt so I guess you are bionic now it was ridiculous at first that haystacks were every you jumped from at first but this is a whole new level of being ridiculous
Seth Rios loving community? Lmao, is it still 2013? Look around you pal, it is infested with haters and whiners. Back when it was a 'loving community' , people used to jerk off to a minute long presence of 1st civ characters. Now that we have a part Isu protagonist, people are too busy complaining.. I dont need to explain myself any further
I stopped playing AC games right after Black Flag... I think this games have lost so much essence that was in the first games, there were 2 stories: the modern time and then the past events. I liked the modern time aspect and how it connected with the past, we can all agree Ezio is by far the greatest assassin in history and there was so much development in his story. Now AC has become a franchise that Ubisoft continues to work in because they want more money, each game features characters that are never heard of in future games and are just there because they need to be, the games have become so repetitive (there are always ships and naval combat but after some time and games it grows boring and repetitive). And now the modern era is not so developed as when Desmond was alive... I think Ubisoft should look in the past (you see what I did there lol) back when AC 1 and Ezio trilogy and really focus on doing: good character development, good mix between past and modern times, and making the games actually connected to each other, like Desmond story did
Well other people can talk shit ,but I'm loving the new direction with the series. Having said that assassin's creed needs to end it's getting to convoluted and has no direction
I am a huge ac fan. And to be honest with you all guys! In my opinion, if you take out few things from this game....things like femenist bullshit like spartan woman assasin being canon in the game. It could be my most favorite game!!! It looks beautyful and i love the greek mythology and time set!!!! Love the colors in this game.
tro lol its not about that at all!!! Its just so funny these days that the developers are so afraid of sjw and femenist horse shit that they need to put a woman somewhere just so people are not bitchin! And if you dont understand that then i feel sorry for our future. The problem here is not about woman being in the game. The problem here is that woman is in the wrong game! If you have Tomb Rider for example then ist totally fine. Thats the way it was writen in the first place, that was the hole idea from the begining! But when you make a fucking game with spartan warriors fighting, and time of heros and gods....woman was not even fucking near that shit these days! My point is...make a beautyful game, make it logical and more acurate! I dont understand why we need to have all black and chinese people and fucking lesbian sjw femenism in our movies and games these days!!! As for me i will be fine anyway! I can play a girls....when it makes sence! But seeing grown people cry like bitches just becouse of all that sjw culture puts a smile on my face....and nothing more!
syndicate was shit, origins by far my favorite assassins creed game, with black flag 2nd. Hope this game is similar to origins, kinda worried how they said it was more syndicaty
i really want to like this game but i just cannot in good conscious give money to them for another yearly release plus i think bayek deserves another game and that is what i will hold out for. He was the one to generate such buzz and love from people in a time where people were giving up on this franchise. bayek and origins saved the franchise. Yet no one is really excited over these generic pick your own characters from this game. I will give ubisoft money for more bayek but not for this.
How so? I thought it was decent and even good at times, with the exception of the horrible boss fight. I think the worst one is probably ACIII and... huh... you know what? If you actually think about it, Syndicate COULD be called one of the worst AC games even though it's pretty decent. lol
Well for one the combat was probably the least interesting so far. The traversal was pointless because you couldn't get anywhere without your batman zipline so you just race around in your indestructible horse carriage. And the absolute worst thing was probably the story and the characters. I tried to remove Syndicate from my memory but everyone keeps bringing this up.
I hyped for Spider-Man and red dead redemption 2 I’ve been waiting for Spider-Man and rd2 I played the first rd and in my opinion red dead is much better than gta
It actually went back to the roots of the franchise. So you're basically mocking the first 4 games of the series. I'm not sure if that was your intention.
Right, because we had 'Assassin Christmas' in AC1 or a fucking Hat that disappeared everytime we went into stealth mode. And who doesn't remember the steampunk outfits of AC 2, the Ropelauncher from Brotherhood and the 100x sped up combat animations from Revelations. But who can forget the "fantastic characters" that were Evie and Jacob with their abilities like being FUCKING INVISIBLE. Back to the roots my arse mate
Yes, back to the roots. Once again we had a classic story of Assassins vs. Templars, a list of people to kill, the setting was a huge city fit for the acrobatics that we had to take over from the Templars, combat went back to the old system after Unity's experiments, assassinations were open areas like in AC1, the game's approach to history was like in Ezio's trilogy: playful and it also captured the times of technological and intellectual change, side activities were constructed similarly to Ezio's games. And more. But if those games are about how hats work to you then I guess this discussion is pointless.
I was just pointing out how ridiculous Assassin's Creed Syndicate was. If you cant stop putting words in my mouth then you might be right and this discussion really is pointless. I'll point some things out nonetheless: Syndicate basically made fun about everything that Assassin's Creed was, from the awful modern day to the whole hat system which treated the player as if he were stupid. Now you might be right about some things but parkour alone was made pointless because of the rope launcher, the combat system had no weight whatsoever, the main antagonist did nothing at all in the whole game and we were given almost no real reason to hate this guy, the hideout (being a train) was a stupid idea because you could easily find out where it was and destroy it, there again wasn't a modern day protagonist, Evie and Jacob did not at all evolve and just stayed the same from beginning to end (not taking into account Jacob from the Jack the Ripper DLC, Evie stayed the same in that DLC though), the assassinations were just in the game so people couldn't yell at them for trying something different and weren't even memorable (except one) the antagonists themselves weren't memorable either (I can't even remember their names that's how forgettable they are) London was bland, as was the combat system, every weapon felt the same, your "friends" in the game were just as forgettable as the antagonists, the abilities weren't that useful (neither was upgrading your weapons) the outfits looked shit, the side missions were boring because you did the same thing like 30times, should I go on? Oh and PS: we always had a list of people to kill, that doesn't make it a good game, does it? We also had the 'taking back territory from the Templars', the open Assassination Areas and the playful history. Assassin's Creed Syndicate was certainly not the game to "take AC back to it's roots"
This is not even as assassin game technically speaking. The creed doesn't even exist, idk why they bothered with this setting. If they wanted to make a gladiator game they could've called it something else
I would not call it a copy and paste, I would say its a improvement on a drastic change in gameplay for the series. Origins was the first game that went hella rpg and it was new for the series, it worked well but there was a lot of room to improve upon it, so why not go for it y'know.
Seth Rios true as a game it was cool and innovative and sometimes fun especially the setting was also a nice change as well but as an Assassins creed game at least in my opinion it is the worst or second worst for the franchise story and as a game
Syndicate in my opinion was the worst AC game of the series.. I'd definitely not invest in a syndicate 2 ... the more modern AC becomes the worse the game gets. I hate the idea one of the saints row devs are developing this.. it's going to be AC meets Saints row.
Seth Rios the special powers? The over powered attacks? You telling me they ain't wacky? Being able to jump from stupidly high places and surviving? .. this isn't AC anymore. Trying to be a wacky Witcher 3 type game.. rip AC.
Do you know what the Spear of Leonidas is? It's a First Civ artifact that grants the user demi-god strength, speed, and durability, as well as a plethora of powers. You can call that wacky if you wish, but there have always been powers and artifacts in AC; it's as much a part of it as bareboned stealth in Unity. The only major difference regarding that and other AC games is that here we're given an artifact from the very beginning of the game. This is still AC, we're just exploring different aspects of the universe.
I was talking about changing from what AC used to be TO Origins. Origins is the big change and Odyssey is a polished and supposedly bigger version from that.
saying this game looks like dlc for another is a dumb argument, you can literally say that for any franchise that has sequels. it all comes down to the content within the game and this game looks like it has enough content to warrant a $60 price tag.
So this is origin of the assassins? before assassin's creed: origin? This story is so jacked up at this point they should just abandon or reboot the AC story....better yet, go back to PoP
Read a history book dude. The peloponnesian war happen approx in 400BC. If I remembered correctly AC:origin was in 49BC or something. This is clearly a hell of a long time before AC Origin.
CrimsonGreaver umm obviously this takes place before Origins. But you very clearly labeled the story of this game. Another origin of the Assassins. You do realise they have mentioned many times that Alexios or Kassandra are not Assassin's. But rather are just warriors caught up in a similar battle for their own personal freedom.
This is not about the origin of the Assassin Order. As was said, that was already covered in the last game. Misthios is what you call a Proto-Assassin; they existed before the creed-bound 'Hidden Ones' and loosely upheld the ideals the Assassins fought for. Some of the Assassin Mentors considered such figures (Iltani, Darius,) to be the true grandfathers of the eventual movement.
my problem is they reused many of the same assets from assassins creed origins, its lazy, its convenient and its not innovative. They arent thinking of the consumer when they copy and paste over 80% of the assets from the previous game.
KING iii it’s a sequel. It has been done in almost every ac game with the same engine and it makes a whole lot of sense. It is really impractical to make totally new assets which are completely irrelevant to its gameplay. And tone it down to 60 percent.
I've played all the previous games😀 excluding Origins hoping for a better and more innovative game than what I saw in Origins, sadly this game is disappointing😦 to me. This is clearly a Re-skinned and slightly improved Origins.😢
Infra Recon Oh because it has the exact same story, characters, mythology setting and plot line. It doesn’t have dialogue choices, two characters, romances or a return to pirates. Complete ripoff
Connor RK 800, Lets begin...The modern day story is most probably never gona get anywhere just like in Black flag, ACU, ACS and Origins.😯 Obviously the Historical point of the story is going to hopefully be fine.☺ The Decisions in the game lead to the same dialogue, probably only at the end you'll have to make a critical decision that'll actually change something.😧 Romancing maybe one thing😊 but whats the point if they are never by your side eg.(Fallout 4, Skyrim).😮 And finally ships, can you invade ships like in Black Flag during battle, are there cannons cause you did mention "Bringing back Pirates"😲- maybe not....Look I love😍 the AC universe aswell as Ubisoft, I have a collection of ubi games from the dark ages😱, But I just expected a next gen game such as Spiderman or Red dead where there is purely innovation😎. All I see in this game has already been done countless times😥...They didn't even bother to put in a proper stealth mechanic as seen in ACU, Watchdogs, Splinter cell and Tom Clancy games alike...
Infra Recon Actually now that I think of it, it’s probably all gonna be half assed. And yep, the pirates are back but they shoot fire arrows and you can board ships again. I’m more hyped for the new red dead redemption than this game but I still hope odyssey will be good
Connor RK 800, The Good stuff about this game is the Rpg elements, slightly improved combat and that overlay they had in Origins.😃 But Red Dead tops that by 1000.😂 ...Sorry bout the long reply. Note: Only people new to the AC titles should buy Odyssey.
Infra Recon I was just going to buy odyssey when it released but I’m gonna wait for reviews and get red dead. Just hope it isn’t full of micro transactions 😂
tro lol Do you even understand what I’m trying to say? This game will be good, that is your opinion. Telling somebody they’re a loser and to shut the fuck up isn’t an opinion, it’s a fact. I’m just trying to correct you. Your English teacher did a horrific job.
I just love to see a game that nails the beautiful islands of Greece! Especially during that era with the architecture design
Yes. Looks way more comely than the dead sands of Egypt.
Gamers : AC is becoming COD of Ubisoft same game every year no change
Also Gamers : AC is changing too much, it's not even AC anymore and has become COD of Ubisoft.
Underrated comment.
Fanboys who are stuck in ac's past.*
Fixed that for you.
I literally posted this exact same comment on another AC: Odyssey video. It's almost like gamers just need to bitch and moan about something.
Asznee That, and the fact that the AC community is the worst kind of casualized, dumbed down community I ever found
Mister K Agreed. The way I see it Ubisoft finally dared to do something different and I feel like the dev studios are having a blast not being confined to the same old formula. They've added so many features its crazy.

Don't know about you but this all sounds awesome to me. These action-RPG elements in combination with the old AC climb-everything, lore and history is the reason I loved Origins and hated most other AC games before it. (Especially after Black Flag)
i love the customization this time. ac keeps on getting better with every installment
Origins was great. This looks like it’ll hopefully be even better!
s t e a l t h b o i
gotta buildup that BAR!!
Origins was by far my favorite AC and this one looks even better. Love the rpg elements.
ShadowsDieThrice That is true 😁
Zombi dead Says the guy without providing any facts or reasons as to why he’s being “stupid”.
ShadowsDieThrice Ubisoft is honestly very pathetic. At least ashraf ismael and the team behind origins took a year off to work on the game. This looks like a poor excuse for an AC game especially because their going back to yearly releases. AC just isn’t good enough anymore
+bandito_x 9 Dude, this game's been in development for three years. Just accept it, mate.
Odyssey looks amazing. Origins was awesome as well. People complained AC got repetitive so they changed the formula and now people are still whining they should go back to old AC. People would just whine about anything even if it is what they want.
Definitely a must-buy for me.
Toe Nail they complained on issues with full sync and story going nowhere in Revelations, eventually removed both
Games felt too pirate like which they removed, combat issue in unity so they removed that
Ubi tends to remove than refine, neat to see a better version of origin albeit I'm sad they keep changing it
Can't wait to play this game.
Rockstar in one Video show more than 20 videos from Ubi..wtf
They gonna smoke them all out this year..
Anyone else think there should be an assassins creed Viking themed game think about It sail from Denmark to the United Kingdom and raid villages kinda like how ac black flag was when attacking forts
run around cities
raid monasteries
And crew recruitment have a few dif types for example could be a brute type who tanks damage and hits hard but slow then the archers and even a berserker
Sounds like it could be cool. I mean, they have such rich material they could go anywhere in history. So, maybe eventually?
God I hope so
YES!! I've always wanted a Viking game. Or maybe Saxon England, and the Vikings are the invading enemy force?
Ghoulz when has that stopped them before? 🤣
Ghoulz I don’t think that would stop them. It’s an interesting story to tell. And they release a game every year. You don’t like this one you can see what they put out next year.
8:51 That is called a parry and was and still is normal in swordsmanship. And if you know how it works then there won't be any disaster at all.

It's a shame.
SEMS This is so true. I couldn’t agree more. The game series I grew up playing has become a cash grabbing shell of its former self.
SEMS you are not wrong, Ubisoft used to be a better company but now it just seems like they want money this game seems forced, In my opinion it looks exactly like ac origins except it’s set in Ancient Greece but then you look at other games like red dead redemption 2 and Spider-Man etc and they put time into those games as far as I’ve seen. it was a cool sci-fi first and then it turned into supernatural
forced? lmao hows this sound forced man? if anything this game took way mroe years to make then those of the early ac series
But in Odyssey you can get relationship with homosexual person- that's a big thing (jk that part sucks) Ghost of Tsushima look more interesting than Odyssey bullshit (better stealth open world game)
And I️ feel like double assassinations should be in the new AC’s like from the older ones.
Definitely.
Yes.
It is in the new AC's what are you talking about?
Agreed
I do love how Odyssey is shapibg up to be and that Origins was the best but I do agree in that I miss them.
That Metroid Prime cutout in the background made me happy
How do I get you guys a demo of a game I’m Making?
I liked AC Origins because it looked different and loved the gameplay changes over the others, this just looks like the Origins game. The environment isn’t really different enough to make me want to return for this iteration.
Dances With Sheep because egypt deserts and greek coastline and mainland are the same, lazy bunch those at quebec studios..
I disagree. They look much different imo. The desert didn’t appeal to me very much with Origins, but this Mediterranean location is much more beautiful. Plus, Odyssey will most likely be much more polished than Origins.
Chandler Andrews doesn’t looked more polished from what we’ve seen so far (e.g bad lip synching, poor facial animations etc).
bandito_x 9 I’d bet that’ll look much better once it comes out.
Chandler Andrews one can only hope my friend. But every time spent with Ubisoft is like playing a game of roulette
I hate to be that guy, but I just want a remastered Black Flag, with updated quests/collectibles (no more flying shanty bs) and Origin's climbing mechanics.
lol that sounds lame as hell i'd take a new game over a remaster anytime nostalgia be damned.
I want to see a remastered ezio arc with origins combat, more quests and side quests to complete, and more origins stuff.
maxx unlimited Wouldn't that be a Remake, like Resident Evil 2's?
Yes
It's already on current gen...
Im here for this rpg type AC if they make one in the Viking Era , that would be insane , being a viking raiding recruiting warriors etc , the Saxons could be the Templars
I have to play this bc it doesn't look like AC and I want to find out how much your rank actually affects the game.
The guy that said ac origins was a bit of a disappointment also said the combat mechanics of god of war ps4 sucked soooo yea
Kevin Bond I mean not really wrong
Being horrible and having a few problems are a big difference in gaming
combat mechanics was fine in GoW, mixing up light, heavy, runic and skills you can unlock was fun combined with Atreus' bow lol there was nothing wrong with it, that guy with the glasses said AC origins was a disappointment and prefers this over Origins because it went back to the roots lol makes no sense since this feels like it has completely diverted from what AC is supposed to be about and probably didn't know how to use the combat system in GoW properly lol
Sagittarius476 exactly lol
People are trying to overanalyze this. This is pretty much Black Flag and the Witcher together, but you're a fuckin Spartan. This is awesome, and I'm good with it.
I’m very late, but I’m thinking about getting AC Creed Origins. Should I still purchase the game, or should I just wait for this game?
You don't need to have played Origins to play Odyssey, and I can tell you now that Odyssey will be better than its predecessor. You might as well get current.
Seth Rios Thanks for the recommendation, but how will we know that Odyssey will be better?
Seth Rios Wow.... so I guess AC Odyssey it is right?
Lil Eyes Well, that's my opinion. You may want to get a second or third opinion before you make a determined choice. I think Odyssey makes Origins obsolete, apart from the core story itself. If you want to experience the story of Origins, how the Brotherhood started, then by all means enjoy yourself, but it is a standalone story. You can always go back and purchase Origins once its value has dropped a bit as well, but by then they might already have another AC game out, lol.
i bet if ubisoft went back to its roots and made a AC game like the old times, like AC2, people would still complain
iam fan of AC games from the beginning . like( Ezio trilogy)( black flag / AC3) and( unity / syndicate) it dosen't matter if odyssey and origins r identical it isn't new for ubisoft to do that as i said before. i liked origins and i think iam gonna like this too
but it was a mistake from ubisoft to launch this game in 2018 it should be in 2019
Tell me, why should these companies try to evolve their games or put any effort into them if all gamers do is complain. They don't change anything, you all complain. They change stuff, you all complain. I'm very excited for this game and I'm VERY excited to see what direction the series is going in.
so we just not gonna speak on no hidden blade?
lol that guy with the glasses is funny, he said he didn't like origins because it didn't feel assassin creed nor it captured the feel while this one seems to have gone completely off course, doesn't even look nor feel like an assassin's creed game.
We need more naval warfare games
Honestly AC: Origins is one of the best new AC games now. But I️ feel like this not different from Origins
What a click bait title, I watched the entire video and on one did a Alexios, or Kassandra impression.* sarcasm implied*
I enjoyed Origins a lot but its going away from what Assassin’s Creed was...I’ll still buy it for the setting. Love Greece.
But not before we FINALLY get Feudal Japan.
hope they will optimize this one cuz origins is laggy as hell, especially if you enter one of the bigger cities, from 60 to 35-40 fps
I just found this channel. But the guy Leo is pretty awesome.
Stealth boi
You need bar
check out the ac odyssey webpage on ubisoft. its amazing
You guys sure this isn't Origins 1.5?
Gonna wait till it's cheap looks great but I've already played this game 6 months ago when I played Origins ,plus theirs so many different games releasing this year and next that I must play first
This games doesn't look like an AC game but still looks good could be Templar origins or something I'll remain optimistic
AC Syndicate has fans ? It's like the Arkham Origins of the AC series.
5:33 look at the gameplay footage it shows just how outdated and lazy the game mechanics is - NPC doesn't hear the character jumping right behind him, why bother calling it a steath game jeez
It's not really a stealth game anymore.... It's an action RPG.
AC was never a stealth game.
Action-adventure/RPG.
쯔위-ah i mean, that happens in other ac games too.
Why do so many americans say "Qwah-Beck", when its clear "Kay-Beck"?
Frasafrase that's a good kay-stion
It's the Spear of Leonidas that give you powers.
the protagonist is a 1st civ descendant and wields a piece of eden.....if you call this ridiculous, you dont belong in this franchise
Alapan Ghosh This is a loving community... so you should just get the hell out.
Alapan Ghosh Alapan Ghosh You really don't, because you just displayed how easily things go over your head.
so ready!
I'm a stealth boi as well!
Waiting for Assassin Creed Tenchu
so they were proud of syndicate wtf this gives you an idea about odyssey
I think Ubisoft should look in the past (you see what I did there lol) back when AC 1 and Ezio trilogy and really focus on doing: good character development, good mix between past and modern times, and making the games actually connected to each other, like Desmond story did
Not much of an assassins creed without the hidden blade, cmon bro, still gonna buy it though
Dude, save your money for RDR2
No Name u better save a lot, cause you know... Take two..
That's because these technically aren't Assassins.
I love this game , i want to buy this game
omg u can do a super hero landing in this game wtf?
Well other people can talk shit ,but I'm loving the new direction with the series.
Having said that assassin's creed needs to end it's getting to convoluted and has no direction
Ships shouldn't be in Assassins Creed at all. How many people can I kill while I'm on a freaking boat? Give me shadows, not waves
Leo Conant i hear you but i absolutely loved black flag. That been said i look at black flag as a pirate game not assassin game.
But seeing grown people cry like bitches just becouse of all that sjw culture puts a smile on my face....and nothing more!
tro lol ahhh forget it...its useless. The game is nice!
Why do the templars always get the pieces of Eden in the end anyway. And how did assassins become so ass in the game present day?
syndicate was shit, origins by far my favorite assassins creed game, with black flag 2nd. Hope this game is similar to origins, kinda worried how they said it was more syndicaty
Should have made it a spin off rather than call it Assassins creed
I loved Origins but i didn't liked syndicate :v
Gonna wait till the next game
i really want to like this game but i just cannot in good conscious give money to them for another yearly release plus i think bayek deserves another game and that is what i will hold out for. He was the one to generate such buzz and love from people in a time where people were giving up on this franchise. bayek and origins saved the franchise. Yet no one is really excited over these generic pick your own characters from this game. I will give ubisoft money for more bayek but not for this.
This is not a yearly release though, it has been worked on since Syndicate IIRC
fanboy gamer Can you stop being triggered like a little bitch, and go learn what a fucking opinion is?
Just came from the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer to laugh at AC.
HAHAHAHAHA
Well that's pathetic
Didn't really like the first one much. waiting for Spiderman (and odyssey) myself.
That's just sad bro.
no u
You can’t even compare the two games lmao
No shields!
one of the first times i have been disapointed in a GI video
lol Syndicate was one of the worst AC games
i acutally liked it.. worst ac games where ac 3 ac unity and ac 1
I also liked sydicate. The chemistry between Jacob and Evie I thought worked really well, and I loved the gameplay.
Unity was way worse though.
Recruitning.
rd2 all the way
Charbel Attieh Spider-Man is the way
I'm not hyped for rd2 but spiderman looks excellent
why all the hype for spider man
Oouu I can see them competing from now
I hyped for Spider-Man and red dead redemption 2 I’ve been waiting for Spider-Man and rd2 I played the first rd and in my opinion red dead is much better than gta
You didn't mention the best part of the series... Oh yeah... Modern day story is non existent
Syndicate was like a parody game of AC
Eh, it had it's moments
This looks like a good game but a bad Assassin's Creed game
Think everyone should wait for a sale on this.
Not me, I'm getting it for my birthday ;p
Holy fck even the torch weild run animation is same as origin.
Loved Origins but this looks like a copy paste version of it. Skipping it
I loved Origins but I'm skipping this cash grab of a game lol.. Excited for Spider-man and Read Dead 2 and Darksiders 3..
I guarantee you this is WAY better than Origins.
This is not even as assassin game technically speaking. The creed doesn't even exist, idk why they bothered with this setting. If they wanted to make a gladiator game they could've called it something else
loving ryona so I've been called a lot lately :D
I would not call it a copy and paste, I would say its a improvement on a drastic change in gameplay for the series. Origins was the first game that went hella rpg and it was new for the series, it worked well but there was a lot of room to improve upon it, so why not go for it y'know.
I cant get over the walking and running animation! Feels fake and clunky, i hope they fix it somehow. IDK just looks bad, origins looked way better!
Is it poor mans witcher ?
aditya ch I think it's faster paced and less fantasy. Some similar game concepts but different
Poor? You obviously haven't checked the prices yet :D
I meant for the developer - recycling garbage. I think syndicate was the best and next should have been something in future not going way back
The Witcher series is garbage
Now You talking shit, man, AC with guns and cars would not be AC anymore, You want some of that go and play Watch Dogs.
Not assassin's creed though
It's still the Assassin's Creed universe, however. These are Proto-Assassins.
You know it’s not a review when they like syndicate 😂
(sigh) Syndicate certainly isn't the greatest game out of the lot, but there are reasons why it's decent and even innovative.
Seth Rios true as a game it was cool and innovative and sometimes fun especially the setting was also a nice change as well but as an Assassins creed game at least in my opinion it is the worst or second worst for the franchise story and as a game
You know what, I have to agree.
Seth Rios honestly I just want a game in Japan or a Bayek sequel and I’m good
richard_henry13 I just want to play as a Templar or Instrument in co-op, lol.
Syndicate in my opinion was the worst AC game of the series.. I'd definitely not invest in a syndicate 2 ... the more modern AC becomes the worse the game gets.
I hate the idea one of the saints row devs are developing this.. it's going to be AC meets Saints row.
Saint's Row is REALLY wacky. I haven't seen any signs of that major kind of wackiness in Odyssey. Different projects.
This is still AC, we're just exploring different aspects of the universe.
maccajoe AC 3 was one of the Best!
Assassin's Creed has become the COD of Ubisoft. Such a waste of potential
Andrew Coddington Except Odyssey looks way better than the regurgitated CoD stuff. Ubisoft is at least changing things up.
Chandler Andrews changing things up? Everything about this game shows that could have been DLC for Origins lol
angel m OoooOoooOOOOoO damn I'm gonna need to lie down after that one😉
I was talking about changing from what AC used to be TO Origins. Origins is the big change and Odyssey is a polished and supposedly bigger version from that.
saying this game looks like dlc for another is a dumb argument, you can literally say that for any franchise that has sequels. it all comes down to the content within the game and this game looks like it has enough content to warrant a $60 price tag.
i might play the female this time around. not feeling comfortable to play a man with no sort of pants on.
I got sick of this game before release. Fewer info, Ubi.
Assassins creed shadow of the Witcher
This is the first time in history I'm gonna skip the new assassins creed
So this is origin of the assassins? before assassin's creed: origin?
This story is so jacked up at this point they should just abandon or reboot the AC story....better yet, go back to PoP
CrimsonGreaver What gave you the idea that it was the origin of the assassins. The last game literally told that story.
Seth Rios This ∆∆
#NotMyAssassinsCreed
all horses handle the same and you pay to win and pay for loot.
MetalGod 1990 What? Where?
You don't have to pay
The swimming animation looks exactly the same as origins. This looks terrible, I'll pass
What's wrong with the swimming animations being the same as origins. How many different types of swimming animations can you have?
Minor issue. You might as well pass RDR2 because they copy-pasted Dead Eye.
my problem is they reused many of the same assets from assassins creed origins, its lazy, its convenient and its not innovative.
+KING iii and by the way new animations is not exactly being innovative.
Who cares? Rdr2 gameplay just came out
meh, Spiderman is the one I'm looking for.
Oren Bartal did you SEE that gameplay trailer?
yes, it looks great, but I didn't like the first game much and it's more of the same thing. different taste for different people I guess.
Oren Bartal let me guess you liked The Witcher 3 did you and you're probably waiting on cyberpunk ?
Why the hell are you here watching this video and commenting on it if you dont care? Make no sense at all
I've played all the previous games😀 excluding Origins hoping for a better and more innovative game than what I saw in Origins, sadly this game is disappointing😦 to me.
It'll be meh I'm thinking
Forza Horizon 4 is going to be better than this poo. Jeeze
tro lol Ever heard of oPinIonS?
tro lol You did you never heard of oPinIonS and mentioned one? Can you read a sentence or not?
tro lol Do you even understand what I’m trying to say? This game will be good, that is your opinion. Telling somebody they’re a loser and to shut the fuck up isn’t an opinion, it’s a fact. I’m just trying to correct you. Your English teacher did a horrific job.
cant exactly compare the two
