- New Assassin's Creed Odyssey gameplay! We've been able to play the first couple of hours of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, a game that apparently provides players with over 100 hours of gameplay in total. We were pretty impressed by what we discovered, so here are 7 Things you can do when you start Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

I realize it's probably gone through a lot of modernization over the centuries but is it still somewhat of a beautiful place like Odyssey's version?
Oh god I was there just a month ago. It definitely has its beautiful moments but the entire island feels more like Africa than Europe in terms of development

As Kassandra you're basically sort of getting a Xena game (which we haven't had since... oh the PS1). Just without the Chakram, and the player must provide the Ayiyiiyiyiyiyi battle cry.
I already supply a Ayiyiiyiyiyiyi battle cry when I kill people in any game. So multiplayers have no idea how grateful they should be I play without a mic.

Feminist agenda from ubisoft, they have subtly done everything to favors Cassandra, she has a soft face, alexios has a rough face, she has an agreable voice, he a a deep voice. She is svelte elegant build, alexios has a bulky built...but it is still not enough feminist cannot win, alexios will still be the most played in the game

I've just completed 200 hours and leveled up to 99. I foresee doing at least 50 more hours. Killed more than 500 mercenaries. What a blast of a game.

so why did they put a lot more detail into the female facial animations and a much better voice actor as well? My theory is they originally were going to make it just a female protagonist and they added a male last minute.
... to be honest, nowadays, if they had just made a female character (something i'd be completely fine with and i''ve actually been expecting the AC-team to do sooner rather than later - and they still haven't, what gives ?), one could allready imagine all the butthurt manbabies on the horizon branding the game a failure due to it's (according to them) obvious SJW-agenda.
She's canon and Alexios is just there for all the guys that can't play as girls.
If they do it good, why afraid? Does anyone cry about Tomb Raider? god. you sure are white as the whitest knight.

im a guy and I will have no problem playing as Kassandra, she'll be my main, I hated aya in orgins though, wasn't developed enough, ill probably do a playthrough of alexios(btw that name is awesome naming my son that), in syndicate I preferred evie to Jacob just because I liked her more
Although I like the idea of the radiant quests being there and adapting to better fit the surroundings, the completionist in me dislikes them disappearing as you move through the main story. This sort of thing leads to me doing one story mission & then every single other little thing until there's nothing left, then another story mission, and so on, which harms the pace of the game & makes it feel like a grind.
In a way, radiant quests having that much variety isn't necessarily a good thing in a game with a strong core narrative, whereas they would be perfect for a game with no real main story arc & just a living world to explore & adventure in. Perhaps this game will set a precedent that makes others put more effort into radiant quests in those kinds of games too.
My solution is to decided if the main quest objective is urgent or not. If it give you urgent feel like finding someone's son who got kidnapped by random criminal and about to kill the kid soon. I will go do that first. However if the quest is 'go meet this guy' i will simply ignore it and go explore until nothing's left in the area.
I've done this in AC origins, witcher 3 and spider man. And plan to do the same with odyssey. I cant do this in bethesda games however. Their radiant quest is the worst. You cant get rid of them. They won't force you but you gonna be bored before you even started next quest. And no narrative in them. It's just a chore.
Yeah I'll totally play as Kassandra, not just because she's the canon charakter

She is the canon character ? Really ? Did they confirm this ? (Not that it matters, i'll be playing as her anyways, just like i spent most of my time in Syndicate with Eve and just like i do in 99% of games where i get to choose between a male and a female character).

I will play as alexios because his german voiceactor is so much better. And in game they are both canon. In the book there will be only kassandra. But i gonna definitly play my second walktrough with her :D
One of the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. I have developed nostalgic memories with it! I love some quests and roaming. Great adventures I’ve done

I started playing this game 5 days ago and really enjoying it and taking my time. I chose to play as Kassandra and am really enjoying it. I'm glad I got past the sibling plot twist before this video. I'm at level 39 right now.
This game and The Witcher 3 got me into video games again. I think The Witcher is not overrated, but ACO is highly highly underappreciated and overlooked completely. There were several years of bad AC games so that title has some baggage, but ACO is breaking that mold like no other, the game is so vast and so detailed, the controls are so perfect and the skills take awhile to develop but once you get good it feels amazing to play. This is my favorite game of the past few years, even a bit more than The Witcher 3. PS if you play ACO... here's 2 tips... take your time and play the game slowly, go into all the caves and nooks and crannies, do all the little things and side quests, just take it ultra slow and don't worry about finishing anything. You probably never will anyways. Don't miss out on the nuance in this game, the humor and charm and the stories in side quests are so great. Last tip... you gotta play ACO in Exploration Mode!
I am trying not to swoon over how tol and swol Kassandra is... I am very much looking forward to getting stuck in.
I’m addicted to this game. I’m level 27 just 38 hours into it and probably only 25% done with the story and 10% done with all side quests.
I hate Assassin Creed Games.... I refrase that i hate older AC games I LOVE ORIGINS AND ODYSSEY !!!!!! Not many games that are better mabe not even any at all, i love the Elderscrolls series, but i might be in love with Odyssey even more...
This is a bit better than Origins in terms of gameplay because I can easily level up just playing the main quests. I also play the side quests,not because I have to but because I really want to.And finally the naval combat from Black Flag is back! Hell yeah!
At first I was like, "Nah, I dont mind the spoilers" watched number two where Alexios got punched that made me laughed so I changed my mind *smilingface*
That scene made me wonder...if the story is identical for either character, does that mean that dude will full on punch Kassandra in the face like she was Rihanna?

Its really depressing about what happens to Kephallonia when you save the plague family, and there is no way to reverse what you did. Kephallonia goes from a beautiful island, into a plague ridden, cloudy hell hole that is the opposite of the beautiful island it used to be.

I'm a bit worried for myself. I spent, according to Uplay's timer, 436 hours with Orgins.
So when you take into account how much more there is to Odessey....well, I may very well be playing this till the PS5.

The camera rotation during dialogue with a very larger 3 different story make this 10/10 for rpg gaming
I already have 100+ hours on origins, so I am sure I can sink plenty of time in odyssey. I love exploring. I have sunk over 100 plus hours into steep just walking around exploring and snowboarding.

People who complain Kassandra isn’t historically accurate crack me up. Yes because nothing historically inaccurate has occurred in these games right? Lol. I think some of you forget the big plot point of these games is the templars changed and erased parts of history and what has been told in the real world, in the context of the games, is a lie. As we play through the games, we play through the truth untouched by the templars. The games are supposed to have inaccuracies from what we know, that’s the point!
I will give it as much time as the game gives me. Can't wait to embark on my Odyssey!!
This IS the game I have been waiting for for 40 years
This is the best game I’ve played ever!! And I’ve been playing since the first Nintendo! Graphics, gameplay, and objectives all get straight 10’s!! It’s still AC but a lot has changed for the better. The only thing I wish is you could arm yourself with a shield. I guarantee if u r a gamer and u begin to play this game, hours will go by like time has fast forward. I’m about 20hrs in and I’m only 16% in . Love this game.

100 hours? yep....i have been playing for near on 60 hours and i havent progressed the story since i left Kephallonia, my very first mission still awaits. In the mean time i have transversed this beautiful map and explored all that i wanted to see with the exception of a couple of random ouposts which need to go from ? to whatever they are. I have opened all bar 2 of the mythical tombs, i have found all the mythical beasts beating 3 of them, i am now top of the Mercenary tree with only the tournament left to do before moving into 51+ level mercs and im now level 50 because i have had lots of fights, done loads of side quests and i even stole massive amounts of Drachma from much much higher level forts by stealth. I love the game..its great fun and i hope that Valhalla is a similar style and with as many things to see.
100 hours? I've now put in 226 hours with a plethora of side quests left to play. This does include the 3 chapters of The Legacy of the First Blade though . I love this game. Best of this console generation imo. Can't wait for the Fate of Atlantis DLC!!

Definitely picking this up when it’s on sale I love Assassins Creed but this one I fill like I can wait awhile to play.

The Witcher doesn't have anything from real history.It doesn't have naval battles.Horses were in the AC franchise since AC1.The ability to call your horse was first in AC3 way before TW3 was made.Maybe AC changed itself and took inspiration from TW3 but it didn't steal anything.Both are great franchises BTW.

I really enjoyed Origins but felt some of the RPG tropes got in the way, so I'm not sure about them going all in with this one. Not to mention the fact this is basically Origins 1.5, and I've already had my fill of that game. I've heard AC is taking another year off after this, so maybe that's a sign to play this next year when I've put some space between myself and Origins, depending on reviews.

Kinda sad that it's so similar to Origins.. But I can't wait to buy this game. Tbh I'm almost more hyped about this than RDR2 Also I love the AC 2 Soundtrack in the menu
In AC:Origins, Bayek says, “Greece has fallen, Egypt has fallen. And Rome will fall” or something along those lines.

Ok the graphics are amazing, even though Ubisoft often downgrades their graphics they still end up with some of the looking games.

So far I am level 81 in completed the game and still having fun!:)
I'm almost embarrassed to say I am up over 190 hours at this point. I have cleared out side missions on nearly the entire map, and I haven't even really started the added DLC. Heck, I haven't even been able to kill any of the big bosses, except for the first of the animals that unlocks the others.
I have done a LOT of side quests every day. I have nearly emptied the map of "?" locations and have hit a couple of the locations twice because of those side missions.
I'm probably 70 percent done with those pesky cultists.
And not close to done, really.

AC Odyssey gonna be awesome, AC Origins get spot become one of greatest games ever in my list and Odyssey seem gonna be even better.100 hours is not for complain is for praise, people want single player game, here we go.In General 100 hours is nothing, nobody is tell need complete game in 1 day, then what you do next part of year.I believe this game can be finish for 1 week if play on max, for people who dont have time will keep them busy for a while what is good.

The cult of kosmos aren't the proto templars. The order of the ancients are, and the order of the ancients was formed in 1400 bce, long before this game takes place. The cult of kosmos are simply a group obsessed with isu artifacts.

The Isu don't define them. And there is no other lore that states that there were multiple proto templars. Why would there be multiple proto templars existing at the same time, that's stupid. If you're correct, then name the other proto templar groups. And the cult of kosmos isn't one of them, or at the least for your argument, they've not been identified as such yet. So please, oh megamind sir, name the other proto templars, and please provide links or references to source, whether website, video, or in game. Prove it.

Though having watched playthroughs of the Altair & Ezio games, they all look pretty trash so i dunno why they're so damn revered (seriously why is a Middle-Eastern guy speaking with an American accent?). Desmond really is just another cookie cutter white male protagonist (and i say that as a white dude).

Plus even though ok sure, The Order existed during the time period Odyssey takes place in why are they not even mentioned either on the wiki page for Odyssey or any of the videos released for this game? You'd think a big faction like them would've been announced as the main enemies by now. Yet for being listed as a "minor faction" on the wiki The Cult Of Kosmos has been seen quite a bit in videos about Odyssey.

Also, you are correct about Cain as well, as he was considered the first proto templar, while adam and eve are the first proto assassin's. Unfortunately, origins retconned all of that. That's why I hate origins with a passion. The assassin brotherhood use to exist long before bayek, but that has been done away with. You're information is dated. The idea used to be that Cain, adam and eve would fight over the peices of eden and what to do with them, use them to rule or preserve freedom. These two groups over centuries would become the assassin's and templars. The assassin's would have existed during the events of odyssey, and long before, as darius was also an assassin. However, due to origins retcon, this is all misinformation. Now, bayek formed the brotherhood out of nothing, rather than the original lore which was that the brotherhood derived from adam and eve, and it also added the bit of lore that the templars were born of the order of ancients, rather than from cain. The Information you've gotten, from the wiki no less, which does in fact have false information, contains info from 8 years and 8 games ago. There's been tons of games, side content, and retcons since then. The franchise Is being made up as they go along, and it's caused inconsistencies. Now, cain, adam and eve, they are still canon, however they are not proto templars and assassin's. Thier groups simply died out. Here's the thing you fail to understand about the prefix proto. It implies something becomes. the order of ancients are proto templars because they became the templar order, rebranded during the crusades. The cult of kosmos cannot be proto templars, because the proto templars already exist. Theoretically, the cult can be merged with the larger and older order of ancients, but then the kosmos become order of ancients, and it remains true that the ancients are proto templars, not the cult. It is an impossibility, unless there is yet again another retcon.
I stopped giving a shit about Assassin's Creed a long time ago, I'm only liking this video because the woman's voice is soothing.
The reason I clicked on this video was too see how different this game is from the Assassin games that I love.

A spartan never throws away his shield, without it he is considered a coward
Spartan law, you come home on your shield or with it. Coming home without it was seen upon as cowardace. A Spartan shield was also handed down from father to son.

Are you saying you had to do that in Origins? You only need to do the side quests if you aren't good enough to beat it without them.
I put in 120+ hours in Origins and this looks way better so I totally believe the developers.
