    I know this sounds like a dumb question, but will the choice to side with either the Spartans or Athenians affect the outcome of the war? I mean, it’s pretty set in stone that Sparta won, Athens lost, but learning that there are multiple endings, and that you can side with a faction destined to lose, makes me curious about how they’re going to deal with that in the game.

      @orenbartal8504 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Personally, i’m not a big fan of level gates the way they were handled in Origins & now this game w/ them being applicable to specific regions. There’s definitely pros & cons but i would prefer just exploring from the start & not be in for a near unplayable time without spending time getting to the required level
    It also made the campaign feel disjointed imo, as i had to do side missions occasionally to get to a certain level before proceeding

    • @quanthai201
      @quanthai201 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      quan thai true, i just feel like it limits some of the exploration early on as opposed to other more open ended games...instead of just hopping in the ship & exploring islands, i have to grind levels or it will be not fun at all

    • @Hounlaiga
      @Hounlaiga 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could work if they make level more felxible this time, like you can be 2-3 level below your enemy and can still fight them(with more but not impossible difficulty). The level gates also help in exploration game that it limite you to just go anywhere right out of the gate, and making you have to work your way there to feel like you earn it.

    • @7dayspking
      @7dayspking 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dan B When asked the guy answered that each area has a level. They display this to the player so they are aware of the recommended level. Unless they've changed this system from Black Flag, Rogue, Unity, Syndicate and Origins it's almost certain you'll be able to enter those areas and start those quests even if your level is too low. The consequence for that is you'll get your ass kicked.

    • @josiahcruz2610
      @josiahcruz2610 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually really like that each region had it's own level cap, I feel like a lot of players try to rush too fast and explore all the regions without considering the fact that they might be killed in one hit from an enemy in that particular area. So the level cap tells the player beforehand what level they need to be evenly matched against an opponent

    this is a brilliant format for interviews to get players a lot of information. but you guys do WAY too many throw away joke questions when there are still plenty of good questions you coulda asked:
    in new game+ can you switch protagonists?
    will the animus control panel be returning?
    can you become high enough level to max out every skill?
    is either character confirmed as canonical in the overall AC story line?
    will there be an explanation for why you can make choices even though your'e supposed to be viewing history?
    will we be spending much time in the present day outside of the animus?
    etc etc
    lots of opportunity to get a bunch of answers to a bunch of little questions but instead you have to go for "when was the last time you climbed something in real life?"
    come on now. fantastic idea it just could be better executed. every time i watch these im both impressed and disappointed.

    • @7dayspking
      @7dayspking 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Saif Ahmed I have a simple answer to your animus question. It's a video game, if the playing experience can benefit from either the player's story not being totally canon or plot holes it's worth it. They believe and I believe with them that adding RPG elements should improve the archetype that was Origins. Hopefully this will enhance the quality of the side quests, increase investment in dialogue for those who might not have been as interested in a lot of the dialogue last time, add some actual stakes to the often monotonous tasks present in Ubisoft games and give everyone the joy of building their own story where they can look back at the end and say 'wow look how everything's changed because I did this and I did that'.
      I'm biased as hell though because I love RPGs and while I did have fun with origins I found a lot of the crafted activities were not substantially improved enough in quality when compared to the side content back in AC2 and very similar to the side content in Unity. Really including rpg elements like branching narratives and character reputation systems should be incentive for Ubisoft to actually really think about the actual quest and objective design or 'gameplay'...now unfortunately I don't imagine this happening, I think we're going to see a repeat of Origins but with dialogue sequences at the start and end of quests and actual consequences hopefully that's enough to make playing them more interesting.

    • @adarwinterdror7245
      @adarwinterdror7245 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I feel like going with diolouge choices is fine. But it feels like Ubisoft is struggling to figure out what ac is and I feel like growing up loving ac 1 2 and 3 those games focused on stealth and assassination. After all it's called assassins creed so what the he'll is going on. Why have they turned this game into an rpg that level caps u from killing certain enemies. Thay sort of breaks immersion and stealth. I really wish they would go back to focusing on making it a stealth game. I honestly really don't like the direction the series has gone in. I havnt picked up an ac game since 3 and I'm concidering syndicate as it resembles 1 and 2 the most.

      +Corg thebarbarian I wouldn't say they focused on stealth and assassinations especially as they didn't really have dedicated stealth gameplay. The AC games were in many ways similar to ubisoft's prince of persia games before them. In Odyssey apart from the dialogue choices...it still seems you're going to be doing a lot of Assassinating dudes in fortified areas surrounding by patrolling guards, they've also retained the interiors from AC Unity adding a further element of stealth and the sneaking mode. Odyssey like still isn't a stealth game just as no Assassin's creed has ever been but you're definitely still doing the same Assassin thing...because ubisoft I guess haven't learned to mix it up. I could be wrong though, we'll have to wait until release.
      Traditional rpgs and earlier open world rpgs didn't 'level cap you from killing someone' that sort of BS was popularized by stuff like Borderlands and Diablo and Ubisoft and of course The Witcher 3. Games that barely qualify as rpgs and are not typical in their rpg statistics systems at all.
      I'm not telling you to buy odyssey, I'm just pointing out the inaccuracy in your assessment.

      Assassin's Creed was a stealth series? You can mow down enemies in like 2 seconds. Normally stealth games would make the enemy way stronger or give them weapon that kill you in 1 hit.

    They can't do Japan no more. I mean, they can, but let's be honest, will it even be as good as Ghost of Tsushima? From all that I've seen of Assassin's Creed Odyssey & Ghost of Tsushima, I think Assassin's Creed Japan would be just like Origins & Odyssey with a Japanese skin. I don't think Ubisoft wants to do an AC Japan and NOT be better than another open-world, stealth in Feudal Japan. & honestly, Ghost of Tsushima is looking a lot better than Odyssey. A LOT BETTER. However, the next best thing Ubisoft can do is a full fledge Assassin's Creed China, right?

      ShadowsDieThrice I agree. I do think ghost of tsushima is gonna be a better game but they haven't really shown us gameplay mechanics. Like fully detailed gameplay mechanics. But visually ghost of tsushima takes the cake.

    O don't know how i feel about this being set before AC Origins plus i don't this about many games but this looks shockingly similar to origins and Origins was my GOTY last year, I hope Odyssey delivers.
