How I use AmeriCorps NCCC to apply for jobs now

How to phrase you AmeriCorps experience for jobs and future employers.
Serving in AmeriCorps can be a rewarding experience on its own but it's even nicer if it helps you in your job hunt. I personally wanted to go into working in the sciences and environment after AmeriCorps but ended up falling behind in the job hunt with a lot of effort in and very few results. Some help from my friends and the internet really opened up my eyes and made me more effective at writing a resume and getting jobs. Since then I've learned even more and am using this experience to hopefully share with future corps members and alumni struggling to explain their experience.

Appreciate the video, After doing two long-term Conservation Crew Member positions I’m going back in this time on a more advanced crew (smaller crew) as a Crew Leader with more training such as WFR, Chainsaw/Sawyer certificates and more. I have a lot of extensive experience in the outdoors and I think this position will bring more value to me in the Outdoor Industry. So essentially by sticking with it, I’ve leveraged myself into higher position opportunities that I think will objectively serve me more-so.

That’s awesome, I absolutely loved CC work and think everyone who loves outdoors should give it a go (especially with the more urban park based ones existing). Also, saw work is the best, I do a lot of fire and am working on my EMT right now to help out.

@@ecologystorymode Nice, the fire crew was taken but I knew I wanted to be a leader so I think I’m more qualified for my current choice.
Nice I was interested more in WFR than EMT because I know WFR is more oriented to a minimal technology approach. Though, perhaps one day I’ll invest in it if I find it valuable.
Right now my crew will be a mix of Front Country / Back country. Likely cross-cutting.
