When I was a little kid, about once a month my mom would make "corn fritters" which was actually pancakes with corn in them for dinner. We thought it was a special treat. Now that I'm grown, I realize it was her being resourceful in the days before my dad's 1x monthly paycheck. ❤️
Meg Jaeger-Blinzler I loved spaghetti and I know now my mom made it so much because it was cheap and we could make it so many ways. Its crazy how much we appreciate it
I don’t believe in meal specific foods. As someone on keto, I’ve had “breakfast” for dinner, and I have had pizza for breakfast! It’s whatever I have and what I want. Eggs are such a great food and who says it’s only for mornings! Great video.
My husband used to work a rotating scheduled shift for work and now he is on permanent midnights. So the kids always thought it was cool when we had breakfast for dinner because it is daddy's breakfast.
Hello, for your favorite Jeans: try to put dishwasher soap on the stain and then wash it in the washing maschine no extra washing powder or so, I worked as a physio so I got a lot of oily stains...hope it works. Greetings, Ute
Cleaning out the fridge before vacation is THE BEST! So creativity inspiring! And then I get to look forward to grocery shopping when I get home, it’s about the only time I shop in the store, which is a lovely excuse to take an extra day off. Great video!
Working midnights has allowed me to enjoy all foods regardless of what time of the day it is. I remember my co worker and I getting off of a 12 hr work shift at 7am and I ordered chili cheese fries and onion rings while everyone else was eating their “breakfast” food. 😎
I like the thought, time and attention you put into planning your family's meals. It is awesome and you are saving money by utilizing what you have instead of running to the store so often like I do😒😒
I love breakfast dinner foods and so does my family!!! However, growing up my Dad was not a fan and we would wait for him to go on a business trip and have German pancakes!
Scones in ireland are sweet and are normally served with cream and jam,one of my favourite things to eat,you can get them with raisins, orange zest, cherries, almonds etc.loads of different types (all good)💞
We love French Toast for dinner !! Breakfast for dinner & dinner for breakfast is how I lost 20 pounds doing the pandemic. I eat my heaviest meal in the morning and lightest meal at night. Sometimes I’m not even hungry b/c I had such satisfying meals morning & noon , I’ll have cereal or something light for dinner. Love going to bed not feeling so full & bloated then waking up slimmer 😀
After watching your videos for a week I have saved TONS huge eye opener on how much my family wasted and just had zero budget. Now I am not playing that way ever again 😂 thank you so much. And those hasbrowns are great
I love breakfast foods - especially eggs. But I don't generally eat breakfast. So I eat breakfast foods for whatever meal I feel like it. Lunch, dinner, a snack.
We've done breakfast for dinner. It's easy and the kids loved it. When I was pregnant with my second one I gave my daughter cheerio's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner once and she loved it.
I lived in Japan and it was such an eye opening experience. Breakfast there is sometimes rice and fish or fermented soybeans with a side of kimchi. My Japanese friend taught me how to crack an egg over the hot rice and it cooks as you stir it. Pancakes with syrup can be found on the dessert menu at some restaraunts.
Crisco to get out the oil/gas stains. Yes it is very old school, but works. Rub the crisco into the stain & blot out with paper towels or newspaper until it is gone. Crisco is clear & washes out nicely with dish soap.
new subscriber have disabled children and disabled veteran husband from the Navy and we live on social ssi and ssdi so I love you family of 6 and trying to feed everyone here in AZ.
Your scones are actual scones! When I moved to Utah and heard people calling fried dough scones, I thought(and still think) it was so weird! I grew up calling Utah "scones" elephant ears. They're a fair classic.
Here's the chilli recipe I use. 1 bottle of tomato juice 1 lb frozen beef 2 cans light red kidney beans Chickpeas 1/4 small diced onion 2 tbsp of chilli powder 1-2 tbsp of Cheyenne pepper A few shakes of red chilli flakes 1 tsp of cinnamon Less then 1/8 of stevia(it helps balance out the heat) Since I'm dairy free currently I top with vegan mexican cheese.
I love your family 💕 honestly you make me realize how much I waste ..I’m always saying I don’t have anything to eat yet pantry is full 🤔🤦🏽♀️ THANK YOU for the frugal videos
right? i ate left over pizza and chinese food all the time in the morning during my party days..shoot even pull into 24/7 burger joints. who makes these rules?
@@Amanda-ev3lg Somold people whoare still sticking to their 1960 schedule? :D I'm still eating cold pizza for breakfast and my toddler wants pasta at 7 am :D
I am always on a budget and only do once a month shopping and get what I think we will need. And it gets the job done especially towards the end of the month just throwing things together. I have a family if 4. And really picky eaters. Last night for example I made stuffed pepper casserole and it turned out better than I would have thought. Love your videos I get so many ideas to use.
I zest all of my citrus before juicing and then dehydrate it. I make it into powder and use in recipes. I love to freeze my orange peels and throw them in iced tea for a yummy fruit flavored tea.
So funny that you mentioned those pants from Walmart.....as I was watching this video, I had on those exact pants but in grey. Awesome and comfy!!!! Love your channel and ideas...keep it up.
I have no idea whether you'll see this because it's a few months down the road, I just found your channel a week ago and a have been enjoying getting ideas and learning some new tricks. But if you still have those stained jeans, I swear by Dawn dish soap as a stain remover. Put it directly on the stain and gently dab it in, let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it like normal. A few times I've had to do it twice but I haven't found something that it hasn't worked on, red sauce, oil, blood. I don't know if it'll work but I thought I'd share, hate to lose a favorite pair of jeans! Anyways, thanks for the content you share, I really enjoy it!
Just found your channel a couple days ago. My 8 year old cooks every Friday for dinner and her favorite is to make breakfast! I think breakfast foods are super easy to start learning to cook on, and we love breakfast for dinner.
I just enjoy this talking while cooking thing 😂. I don’t have a TV and my kids are really not into tv at all we play outside a lot and I watch TH-cam like 30 min before bed sometimes. It sounds weird but this is quite typical in Finland. I love breakfast for dinner as well 😋
I use Resolve carpet cleaner on oil and other messy spots. Spray a good amount on the stain, roll up the garment and put in a ziplock. Give it 24 hours and before putting it in the wash, put a few drops of Dawn on the stain. Wash as usual. There hasn't been a stain I couldn't get out!
Try pre-treating your stained jeans with Dawn dish liquid then wash and DO NOT dry. If stain is still there, repeat until it is gone. You might need to do extra rinses to get the suds out of your machine.
I have a great recipe for homemade Mac & cheese. Not only is it our favorite, but it’s our go to when we want to make a meal for someone. That with a nice salad & a dessert, makes a great meal to give someone in need of a helping hand.
I absolutely love watching your dinner videos! You cook just like I do! I absolutely hate going to the grocery store so I put it off as long as possible. So that leaves me being creative and making meals out of what I have left laying around.
Hi Christine, I realize this was an older episode but I love this format of you on fast speed and talking about other stuff in between! Also, I'm from Berks county PA where Kate Gosselin lived and yes, she is a horrible human. Love love love this format!
Do you have ice cube trays? I pour my leftover citrus juice in ice cube trays and transfer to Ziploc bags. Can then use as marinade and sparkling water etc
I can eat breakfast for any meal...but my husband and son not so much. My son isn't a big breakfast eater (unless it's leftover pizza!!). My husband thinks breakfast is for breakfast; dinner is for dinner! When cooking for myself, it's my go to!! Great meal ideas - thanks for sharing.
I agree! If your food taste bad you need to add more sugar fat and salt. Because (you’re a reader) read sugar fat salt ... it’s a great book it explains why Americans like to eat the food but they like to eat.
First time I heard of 'Breakfast for Dinner" was in 1978... I was a young bride and I wasn't sure how my new groom would like it and I found out that he loved it !! I still like a hamburger and fries, but when the feeling moves me we have pancakes or waffles at dinner time.
And Americans really struggle with the concept of a scone, which is funny. I, and a lot of fellow Australians, struggle with what your “biscuits” are (what we call a biscuit is a cookie and the closest we have to your biscuits are scones). Cultural differences are so interesting.
I realize that this is over a year old, but to get out oil (petroleum products) out of jeans try putting Dawn for Dishes directly on the stain when the jeans are dry. Let it soak in for 20 min. Then launder as usual. I have had luck with this on jeans that have been washed and dried over and over. It worked on blue ink too !!/:)
You should try shopping for women's jeans when you're 6'0" tall, and my daughter is even taller. I never order clothes online. Do you want to hear my crazy vitamin D story? I'm in Australia so plenty of natural vitamin D. The day my doctor told me I had a chronic vitamin D deficiency (9 years ago) was also the day she diagnosed skin cancer (all clear now).
As long as there are eggs my husband will eat breakfast for dinner. My kids and I will eat breakfast all day if allowed. As a Wisconsin resident for life fried dough are doughnuts. Scones are baked.
Next time fry your cabbage and carrots with onions in vegetable oil. Fry ground beef/pork with salt and pepper, cook a little bit of rice (under cook it juuuuust a little) then add the rice to the meat, add cabbage+carrots+onion to the mix, if it looks dry add a tiny bit of water. Let it cook in a pot for 5 minutes, taste it add salt and pepper if needed. Serve with sour cream (!) It’s not gonna look Instagram worthy but it is delicious. And cheap! We have a dish called “cabbage rolls” in Russian. What I described we call lazy cabbage rolls, because it taste the same but no rolling involved ;)
I'm a HUGE breakfast lover and look forward to it first thing in the morning. Then at lunchtime, I have my dinner, and for the past 6 or 7 years, dinnertime has been a bowl of cereal with fruit. So I guess I eat breakfast twice a day. 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍
Use a good quality dishsoap on greasy stains. Put it on for 30 min and then throw it in with the rest of your wash and the stain will be gone. Careful on delicates though some soap can make the color fade.
Breakfast for dinner is bomb. Easy, cheap, delicious. I'm not big on eating the second I wake up, nor do I feel like making a huge breakfast first thing in the morning, but I love breakfast food. We either have big brunches with or breakfast for dinner.
I love love love breakfast for dinner. I love how you did your meals no shopping. I’m going to try shopping my pantry and freezer and see what I come up with.
“Breakfast” for dinner is my favorite!! I don’t normally eat breakfast in the morning but I absolutely ADORE breakfast foods and we usually do it a few times a month 😁 my kids love it!!
We eat breakfast for dinner on Tuesday when I grocery shop after work. In my house if you don't like what's for dinner, the stove is over there or there are leftovers in the fridge.
I love The Goldbergs! Never missed an episode. And the new MacGyver starting February 7th! So excited! And binge watching 90s 90210 with my hubby. Sigh Luke Perry! 😭
Loved the video, you did an awesome job cleaning out the fridge. Brinner is a Winner at our house... love it! You and Dave enjoy your trip and thanks so much for sharing!
I eat eggs for dinner because I sleep better when I do. Sometimes I have pork rinds with them. But usually just eggs. I don't eat them for breakfast very often. I usually have chicken and broccoli for breakfast and a salad for lunch because when I eat in this order, I sleep better and my blood glucose is better as well.
My cupboard is over loaded with all the things I got on clearance, so I'm doing a challenge to try and go as long as I can without a trip to the shops other than for fresh fruit and veg. Your videos are giving me so many ideas to use up the random stuff I've collected. 😄
We do breakfast for dinner occasionally. Hash made with leftover potatoes, whatever leftover already cooked meat in freezer, eggs, chives and cheese. When not very hungry we do a cheese/egg on toast with a side piece of bacon. I also make a cheese/egg/ham or sausage casserole. I just started looking around today to see if I can just buy milk this week. Great sale at Fry's/Kroger the last two weeks so freezer, pantry and fridge are mighty full. Even stocked for thanksgiving dinner (lasagna). Just the two of us this year. You did great with your pantry challenge. Have a great week.
Here in Scotland, breakfasts aren't the same. Scones are sweet and served with jam and cream (cream tea). We don't eat the same kind of breakfasts. Midweek we have cereal, porridge, toast maybe a boiled or scrambled egg but Sunday breakfasts, which is what we would recreate for breakfast for dinner is totally amazing. Pork sausages (links), or lorne sausage here in Scotland with bacon, fried potato scones, black pudding, haggis, etc etc. Google up a full Scottish or even English breakfast and you'll see what i'm talking about. Great video x
Breakfast for dinner good. Breakfast for lunch, good. Breakfast for breakfast, good. It's all good in our home. By the way, those scenes look delicious. I have not made scones in a long time.... Creative meals using what you have on hand. I may have to try that. I am encouraged. Hope you have a wonderful vacation with your husband. Be safe.
Typically mornings were too rushed for substantial breakfasts so yes, breakfast for dinner. Bacon and/or sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, toast & tea. A danish for dessert. 🤤👍🏼
We do breakfast for dinner several times in a few months or month, depending on our mood...pancakes, 🥯 and 🥓 🥪, sausage and biscuits or waffles...we looove it
Breakfast for dinner - absolutely yes (usually eggs in some form, although we've done pancakes/waffles/etc at times). I adore scones, live in the middle of the US and have never heard of the fried dough type you mention. :D I need to do more clearing out of pantry/freezer stuffs so I can restock freezer with prepped meals before baby comes along in a couple of months. Thanks for some inspiration!
Breakfast for dinner AKA Brinner is so good!!! And great if you didn’t get any meat out for dinner!!! Scones are definitely the English sweet tea biscuit style!! -Lindsay
My husband and I just love breakfast for dinner! It's perfectly acceptable! And scones? One of my favorite things to bake. Orange scones are my current obsession. I'm a Wisconsin girl and have never seen fried dough advertised as scones. Maybe it's a regional thing where you live??
Breakfast for dinner is great. I just made myself and kids pancakes and sausage, we all were happy. And its quicker then waiting for frozen chicken to thaw out.
My family NEVER did breakfast for dinner growing up, but as an adult we do it ALL THE TIME!!! I think I love it so much now, because we're so busy in the morning that we would never get breakfast food if we didn't do it for dinner!
new to your channel...love all your videos I have made it thru so far.... as for freeze dried food... love having them around for emergency times or money tight times... and breakfast anytime...
dude you make me realize how much money i waste on food 😭
That's what I was thinking
Me too. Like I could make alot with very little. Why do I need to spend $500 a month on just food.
She's amazing!

We have sweet scones in the US too.. Most of the one's I see in the store are sweet. A scone with pecans sounds so yummy right now. 😊

Great video x
we have oat pancakes for dinner, with fruit, cream, bacon and maple syrup. its great. and yes you can eat what ever you want when ever you want.
Breakfast for dinner-best mealbof the week every time!
I love breakfast for dinner it is usually a great easy dinner fix.
When I was a kid I had many breakfast for dinner and I do it now whenever possible
I love scones. I usually make the English biscuit type. just made blueberry ones with lemon icing last night for breakfast this morning.
Love love love breakfast for dinner especially if you have had a busy day💕
We do breakfast for dinner several times in a few months or month, depending on our mood...pancakes, 🥯 and 🥓 🥪, sausage and biscuits or waffles...we looove it
I love breakfast for dinner! Basically if I have food when I’m hungry, I’m good.
I love 90 days fiancée too. I call it brain dead tv, all I need is large cup of tea, sit back and watch the craziness
Breakfast for dinner - absolutely yes (usually eggs in some form, although we've done pancakes/waffles/etc at times).
I adore scones, live in the middle of the US and have never heard of the fried dough type you mention. :D
I need to do more clearing out of pantry/freezer stuffs so I can restock freezer with prepped meals before baby comes along in a couple of months. Thanks for some inspiration!
Behind fried chicken breakfast for dinner was my fav as a kid.
My kids don’t like breakfast for dinner but there was a French lady in the neighborhood that made crepes after school and they loved those
I decide what meal I want based on effort. If I’m tired I eat oatmeal or salad. If not, I don’t mind standing over the stove an hour for tastier food.
Doughnut scones aren't a Midwest thing. In all my travels, I've only ever seen it in Utah (I guess a little in Idaho too?)
Yeah it’s definitely a Utah thing
Breakfast for dinner AKA Brinner is so good!!! And great if you didn’t get any meat out for dinner!!! Scones are definitely the English sweet tea biscuit style!! -Lindsay
My husband and I just love breakfast for dinner! It's perfectly acceptable! And scones? One of my favorite things to bake. Orange scones are my current obsession. I'm a Wisconsin girl and have never seen fried dough advertised as scones. Maybe it's a regional thing where you live??
Same here.. I have never heard of scones being fried dough before and I'm from the south. Lol. I guess it depends on the region.
Breakfast for dinner is great. I just made myself and kids pancakes and sausage, we all were happy. And its quicker then waiting for frozen chicken to thaw out.
Yes, breakfast for dinner! In fact, there are leftover sausage patties and sausage links in my fridge now. Thanks for the idea.
