The character that Kaldur kissed is Wyynde. He appeared in a storyline in the comic but you’ll learn more later on. According to lead character designer Phil Bourassa, a lot of these held shots were done by him to alleviate the work on the animators. (Also speculation on my part is due to budget constraint as well).
Yeah because they had more budget on cartoon network but since they're on a streaming service now their budget is more restricted so that's why they use those quick shots
I love how this episode shows how far Connor and Clark's relationship has progressed. They randomly bump into each other and Connor asks him what he's doing there fighting parademons in some space station and Clark immediately gives him a no questions-asked detailed explanation about it, even admitting he kind of lost but he's confident he'll do better in the future, and then automatically agrees to be Connor's best man before he even processes what Connor said. I couldn't help but think that if one of the Bat-kids had bumped into Batman doing something on his own and asked him what he was doing he would've given them as little info as possible while turning things around and asking THEM what THEY were doing there and demanding a full explanation down to the last detail.
It's that big nerd energy (affectionate) Also re: Batman I agree but also I think demanding a detailed explanation for why your ward/someone you have paternal feelings towards is in deep space is fair. Superman is just vibing because he doesn't have the same sense of responsibility toward Connor I don't think

And oh, the slideshow montage, continue and maybe get worse. ?
I have worked myself into a snit about the show not playing Victor and Violet off each other more. A motherbox struggling with existing in a human body vs a human struggling with being taken over by a sentient technology. They lost their powers (briefly) due to being unused to human emotion and his human emotions made him vulnerable to the father box. He walked away from his dad while Violet was considering visiting Gabrielle's mom. COME ON!! Imagine all the potential if they hadn't thrown Violet in a relationship since birth 😡

I don’t remember Cyborg ever being with anyone romantically in the teen titans show or the justice league animated films he’s been in, or in comics. Maybe it’s happened but I can’t recall a single relationship he’s been in. & I stopped watching Doom Patrol after season 1 so it’s possible it could’ve happened there. But even more reason he should be with Halo in a way.
So the white hair water meta girl is Dolphin. In the comics she was an ordinary girl who gained the ability to breath underwater due to aliens, her real name was never revealed in the comics either. She was also briefly the girlfriend to Aquaman when he and his wife Mera were separated for a time then later dated and eventually married Garth, the original Aqualad in the comics ( Kaldur’s friend in the show as well as ambassador of Atlantis)

You miiiight wanna get used to slideshows... The Kaldur reveal was what made me aware of season 3 I think. It made some news. Violet's decision was interesting. They had good intentions, but it had mixed results. It's a painful situation where no one is to blame. Your statement about too much body horror in animation basically describes my favorite kids anime rn.
I disagree with the people telling you that Garfield gets worse in Season 4. The thing is he does not get worse he gets "Real" and so does Season 4. When I mean "Real" an example of that is the Season 2 episode 14 and episode 15 of Batwoman. These episodes deals with being black and dealing with the police 🚔. Luke Gets shot by one of the crows when he stopping a car theft. The next episode the Crows change video evidence making it seem that he had a gun. While Luke was dying and he was starting to revive he kept saying he did not want to come back to life having to deal with this kind of garbage for the rest of his life.
A lot of plots in one episode...the more rewatches I do of Season 3, the less I tend to like this particular ep. But it does have some good Violet stuff, two good Tara moments, the Kaldur stuff and anything Fourth World is what I would die for. So some kind of plus?

In season 4 he wasn’t annoying tho. It was just sad seeing how he was, not to spoil for Leah. It was hard to watch but for other reasons.
