During Dan Danger's performance, it was great to see Jaime Reyes/Tracy(Thirteen), Asami Koizumi & Tye Longshadow, Tye's grandfather & mom, and the mother's new boyfriend (after Maurice Bodaway was arrested for his S2 crimes) in the audience. I really need more of the "Runaways" but YJ has enough characters they need to focus on at any given time. Nightwing is a true detective and Rocket's jab at him spending a lot of time hanging upside down on a trapeze was more character interaction than we had in her arc. Would have liked to have seen their relationship during it's time between S1 & S2. And Zatanna's, and Barbara Gordon's. His fling with Bette Kane was just that so no elaboration required. Last episode's dedication to René Auberjonois' passing was rough. Remembering him as Odo from 'Deep Space 9' and Clayton Edicott from 'Benson'. -sigh-
Love how fast paced this episode is and seeing our heroes put everything together! Sucks that Conner’s mind is broken but given that he’d been alone for 6 months it’s understandable
Most of what Superboy is "remembering" is stuff that was programmed into him in the pod at Cadmus. So those would technically be his earliest memories. He's been losing the more recent stuff, the longer he's stayed in the phantom zone. That's why he recalled Megan in his first or 2nd episode there and not since.
This is the most enjoyable/satisfying episode since the Artemis arc. You’re right. Seeing the original team back together since the finale of season 2 is exciting. Arguably my favorite part of the episode is the revelation that the “Boy Wonder” dated 3 girls in the same friend group! Would he have dated Artemis, M’Gaan & Tula as well had they not already dated his best friends? How good does a guy have to be in bed that a girl says to her friends, “Nah, I don’t wanna be with him anymore, but girl you should try it tho!”?😂
Well we call him Dick and not Richard for a reason. Even with no leads to go by he still managed to track down Bart and came to the sensicle conclusion connected to Connor. All those years working with the world's greatest detective paid off. Clark being so happy to discuss the upcoming game was endearing, maybe he's hoping to report on it. I agree its best to see the crew together than apart. This episode was a lot of fun seeing them interact under a common goal.
Just think of how you would have enjoyed Forager going to the diner for coffee with Kal-El. Ursa Zod was ready to snap Conner's neck a few times. This ep gave you the right mix of all the needed elements. The Klarion part was needed, just to have a way of slowing down the episode. (Having a failure).
Love this final arc! I think it really in incorporates everything so far along with leaving some doors open for further exploration. The next episode in this arc, in my opinion, is amazing just like the rest of the arc is, however most people don’t like it. I think it continues the meta human trafficking plot thread in this universe, and with Brion and and Markovia as you pointed out. Also, believe it or not the next episode “Ego and Super Ego” was submitted for consideration in the 2022 Emmy’s Best Animated Drama Category, sadly it didn’t make the final ballot. However, taking this into account and kind of thinking of the episode as a cliff notes of the season since episode 1 with lots of drama and emotion between characters as well to appeal to the Emmy’s voting board. But that’s the way I’ll advertise the next episode having seen it already and knowing this particular episode has higher than usual negative reviews even though I think it’s amazing! Can’t wait to see your reaction.
