My history teacher played this song in class when I was a senior in high school. She used this song as a starter piece to talk about racism, white privilege, police brutality, and how systematically our society divides POC from work, housing, how they're treated by the legal system, etc. This song is the first thing I go to whenever I hold conversations about racism and privilege. "Listen to these words. Tell me what the song is talking about? Are there relevant issues today that could match this song?" And boom, the ball is rolling.

She's an internationally acclaimed artist and highly sought after song writer with over 19 million singles sold including 3x UK No. 1 singles, 6 million albums, and four BRIT awards.
