    The Samsung The Frame 2022 QLED is the updated model of the Samsung The Frame 2021 in Samsung's Lifestyle lineup. The biggest difference compared to the previous model is the screen finish. It has a matte anti-reflective coating instead of a semi-glossy screen, making the screen look more like a canvas and reducing mirror-like reflections. The TV's design is meant to look like a piece of art mounted on the wall, so it comes with the Slim-Fit Wall Mount. It has black bezels by default, but you can purchase bezel covers separately if you want to put a different color. Samsung's Art Store has a ton of paintings and artwork you can download, but you need to pay for a subscription to it. Lastly, it also has a quantum dot layer to produce a wider range of colors than traditional LED-backlit TVs, but it doesn't have local dimming or Mini LED backlighting like Samsung's other high-end TVs.

    I hate having a TV I barely use dominating my lounge room and so haven't had one and have happily just been using my laptop for netflix for a few years. Tempted to give one of these a go, my room is very bright and wherever I put it would be near a window so I appreciate the brightness/reflection details you went into 👍🏻

    Interesting I didn't know the smaller sizes had lower refresh rates. I didn't look at the larger sizes because of the mounting location and constraints. We went with the 43" for a kitchen TV.
    The off angle color drop off is pretty bad especially for reds. I would equate the picture quality to be similar to our $350 bedroom LG TV. We got our Frame on sale for $799. We also added the teak frame.
    There was a similar sized OLED priced the same with the Frame. If I was going on picture quality alone, I'd go OLED 10/10 times. But the matte finish, art mode, flushness to the wall, and the ability to add the frame really made more sense as this wasn't a primary TV.
    EDIT: Also we bought our TV from Costco which included a 5 year warranty. It also included a year free of the Art Gallery. Not sure if this was a Costco exclusive or not.

    I'm looking for a bright TV for the background of my videos to display artwork. Would something like this be good, or is there a better option? The TVs always look so good in your videos, and I'm worried about getting the camera settings so I don't see any flicker on the TV while filming. I'd love any input you could share!

      That's sort of a big selling point for this TV (displaying artwork and other pictures). So without knowing the full extent of what you want to do with it, it sounds like it should be a good fit. It might also be worth popping into your local retailer to check it out in person as well!

    That Matt finish 5 unbelievable handling of reflections. Nothing can compete with this TV in a bright room. I saw it live next to premium TV's like QN90B and S95B and it blows them out of the waters (in bright rooms). The reason for this is that those other TV's are using their brightness to fight glare and reflections, however the brightness is useless during the dark scenes.
    I even connected my phone to all of TV's and played some videos so I could compare (Cyberpunk trailers, Witcher 3 gameplay and such) . And that matt finish is such a win for me, that I am seriously thinking of buying this TV over QN90B. The picture is just amazing, and it even seems brighter simply because there is no glare of reflections.
    We really need more TV'S with such finish.

    Overall I love your reviews and testing. Can you tell me why you rated this so low on Reflections when it is the only TV I know of that has no reflection? It seemed really off to me considering you highly rate other panels where you can literally see the light and equipment on your testing photos, but have a low rating for this where there's nothing. Felt like it unnecessarily drove the overall rating down and served to distract from the actual use case of this type of finish, which is highly lit rooms/places with many windows.

    • @RTINGSdotcom
      @RTINGSdotcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Samsung The Frame 2022 QLED is a newer version of the Samsung The Frame 2021. Both TVs are very similar overall, and the main difference is that the 2022 model has a different screen coating. The 2022 version has a matte finish, while the 2021 version has a semi-glossy finish. The matte finish reduces the intensity of mirror-like reflections and makes the screen look more like a realistic piece of art. The 2022 TV also has better out-of-the-box accuracy, but other than that, both TVs are very similar. So, if none of the above information makes a difference for you, you can probably just go for the most cost-efficient option!

    I just wish it were easier to use your own photos/artwork. You have to manually format them (no zoom to fit) and then you have to add each one manually and manually remove the matting on each picture. Additionally, the "my album" is at the very bottom of the menu - takes a long time to get to it.

      And they could easily do that as Samsung is no stranger to building good UI designs. But they want you to buy that stupid art subscription instead of using your free photos. Corporations absolutely love subscriptions.

    It is not any better than the 90a I got during prime with the exception of the matt screen. No mention of reflections. My guess there is a reason for this and that the rainbow effect is still there and just as disturbing. Why don't they eliminate the issue?

      @RTINGSdotcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, no noticeable rainbow effect on this one! You can read more about reflection handling in our full review on our website if you'd like! www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/the-frame-2022-qled

    About picture quality, colors, contrast, black uniformity, blooming and overrall film watching experience, both in a bright room and dark room (I don't care that much about viewing angles), for a 55 inch tv, should I get a Q80A, Q70A or THE FRAME 2022? They have similar prices in my country.
    Local dimming makes a great difference on the oher two TVs mentioned in relation to new THE FRAME?
    The one connecT device and the matte finish seem to be tHe high points of this tv.

    • @RTINGSdotcom
      @RTINGSdotcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Q80A we bought and tested has an IPS-type panel so uniformity and contrast won't be as good as the other two TVs. As for the last two options, it'd help to check out our comparison to see how they compare in the areas that are important to you. www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-q70-q70a-qled-vs-samsung-the-frame-2022-qled/21556/32326?usage=1&threshold=0.10
      If it's still unclear though, feel free to follow up!

      @victord6940 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you consider that even with the local dimming feature, Q80A would be inferior to Q70A or The Frame 2022 for watching films? Does that aply to content outside the testing stats?

    As far as the viewing angle, it would be nice if you put a number (in degrees) of the usable viewing angle. That way crazy people like me would be taking out are measuring tape and start marking our floors for usable viewing areas in our family rooms,lol

    To sum up: a kind of meh Tv Made More expensive for.......reasons

    • @BristolMatt
      @BristolMatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Their TVs have been getting worse and worse for the past few years. It's too easy for them to blame covid and just continue to sell lesser TVs for the same price as always it even higher.
      Same with phones, all high end phones like xiaomi, oneplus, realme, Samsung, oppo and more, use the same Samsung panels.
      It makes buying TVs and phones a massive let down these days.

    Samsung television are becoming unattractive to me, I wouldn't pay for a TV that doesn't support Dolby Vision and a mediocre screen display. My alternative would be a Hisense U7G, better cheaper and in my opinion the shit!

      Even the Tizen OS and the remote control bothers me. Samsung needs to step it up. Removing ads would be nice, too.

      We’ll likely end up buying them once they’re available, but in the meantime, they’re on our suggestion list. So, feel free to go vote for them!
