When I had my Lotus Elise MKI and we drove to Spa there was the presentation of the Lotus 2-Eleven including the chance to drive it. That was already Nuts and if I had the money today I would buy it in a heartbeat. That was a great car. - I can`t imagine how this version must drive with even more power and torque. Great Review!

Mark for a car like this I don’t need tech I want simple and fun I don’t really care about a panel gap, if I’m buying a car like this all I care about is the driving experience. While I haven’t and probably never will drive any of those 3 cars if I could pick one it would be the lotus for this purpose
Well I have been lucky to have both... but you do need a multi car garage and money to maintain. I only went shopping to Sainsbury’s in the Lotus once, as storage of the helmet was a concern for theft 🙃
wow what a car ! nice colour , reminds me of a modern version of the Renault Sports Spyder from 1996 , on the plus side no chipped windscreen to worry about , only eye replacement and chipped teeth from hitting Bugs+birds at 120 MPH / I would buy this tomorrow if I had the money ,...Awesome good Vid 10/10
I remember when these first came out. Walked into a local (Vancouver Canada) Lotus dealer and there it was in the showroom. Grey, green, and yellow livery if I recall. Have never seen it or another once in person since. Very rare indeed.
And not to mention. ... manual. The other speedsters are auto/Dual clutch. I love this thing. An amazing Sunday blast. Maybe motorcyclists will not be bothered by the rawness?
Helmet free is a bit insane. Ever since I passed a truck going the other way and we were both doing probably just over 20 MPH as the truck had just pulled out a yard and I just turned at a junction. My first thought was and this was in Glasgow that someone had taken a shot at me with a Gun as it sounded like a shotgun had gone off in my Car. It was just a big stone that the lorry had fired out coming out a yard. Golf ball chip on the windscreen and the stone sitting at the base of the wiper blade motor. I always figure if that had hit my head I’d have been killed. Helmet next time Sam 🤔👍
Am I the only one annoyed by how same holds the wheel? It's perfectly designed for 9-and-3 as is proper, unlike most car wheels, and Sam completely ignores it to hold it open handed at 10-and-2
Glad to see Lotus getting more air time on this channel. Superbly engineered cars, but just a bit insane. Tell you what Sam, don't buy another supercar. Buy an Evora 410 GT. You can even get the 2+2 version for the little doggy to sit in the back.
I had the older 2-11 (MY2010) and it was insane performance with “only” 252bhp. Heaven knows what this is like when driven in anger. Definitely a licence loser as I could be doing 125mph on a dual carriageway and not really know😳..as let’s be honest the ride is so exposed, jiggling, tossing and turning that your focus is solely on the road and not the Instrument cluster and speedo . Stonkingly amazing on track.. 🤪

Sam you need to try out a bit of motorbiking listening to you describe the drive of this Lotus was a glimpse into the thrill of riding just the level of engagement required and the visceral sensation

This car actually has some production car track records like it has on hockenheim. That being faster than 918, Senna, etc

I knew a guy here in the states who had a 2-Eleven. He tossed me the keys one day and I had the most sublime gut feeling ever.

My first experience on a race track was a passenger ride in a 2Eleven around Silverstone. Epic cars and have been hooked on track cars ever since.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I'd rather have this over all the latest roof-less car's from McLaren, Ferrari and Aston.

Are you crazy. Over an Aston. Lotus build quality is shocking, they have no tech, the wing mirrors are off a Austin Metro, stalks from a Vauxhall.

Loved this car when it came out. Excellent. But I'd still go for the BAC Mono, just because it seems to take corners like it's on it's own tracks.
