That's my old car! I often wondered what happened to it. I owned it from March 2012 to March 2014, a car I truly regret selling :( You're right, it's utterly impractical and I sold it through lack of use, but I quickly came to regret that as the few times it did get used, it was the most exhilarating experience on four wheels. It was one of the early Lotus Motorsport built cars from 2007 (build number 50) so originally came in the Launch Edition paint scheme and I had it resprayed in Solar Yellow as I wasn't keen on the Launch Edition colours. At the same time as the respray, I had the suspension components and wishbones etc refurbished as it was all quite rusty. I think before my ownership it had lived in Scotland so it's obviously returned there! Perfect roads for it up there :)

Lotus have indeed lost their way: decades of "simplify and add lightness" followed by "here is our 2 ton 2000 hp electric supercar".
Batteries are heavy, no getting away from that.
But if all other electric cars are over 2 tons then it's sticking to it's roots surely?

exactly, they do not belong in a Lotus.
@@stu0508
It is not, the whole idea of overpowering weight, as electric cars do, is not Lotus. They do not belong in one, not even a Chinese one.
Sales of new petrol cars will be banned in the U.K. from 2030. Lotus can't just shut up the shop in 10 years time. Maybe hydrogen will be the answer.
