Not really, it actually makes alot of sense as an enthusiast, we want experience 100% of the time, whether that experience is sporty “race car” like, or ultra luxury super rich but for cheap, we aren’t happy with “normal” for a car even if we’re using it for “normal” things . Notice the way Thomas mentions how he appreciates the care and quality craftsmanship that went into the Century specifically, that’s not something that a non car person would necessarily care about because it doesn’t lend itself to being a clout machine. James also mentions in the Century video that he really likes how it has a simple goal but it executes that goal very well, it’s not showy it’s not flashy, it’s not capitalistic in its intent which is very similar to how the AE86 engine swap or no was designed, it was supposed to be a cheap fun driver’s car, and while it’s no longer as cheap to this day it’s still a fun driver’s car, it’s not fancy or flashy, and it’s not the fastest car, but it’s very fun to drive and can teach drivers a thing or two from driving it, simple goal executed well… So it makes sense that people like Thomas and James are going to perk up when hearing about the Century, even those it’s not as “sporty” as most enthusiast cars it is still a car that can be and will be appreciated by proper car enthusiasts…
The Century is one of the "276hp" cars. The export version was 295hp, so if you took out whatever limiters are on it or got it tuned more naturally itd probably be about 300hp, stock and in good shape. Taking the century to a tuner with a dyno would be a wild episode lol. Super fun for sure. (Not to change it, just to find out a bit more about it and run it on a dyno lol)

_Nigel the Nasal TH-cam Commenter:_ The controversy surrounding the use of the term "jack" when describing the Union Flag was handled *best* by the Royal Navy, who used "Jack", who were determined to continue using "Jack", and who made it official in 1902 that "Jack" is what they'll use, while petty arguments about what to call a flag in the House of Lords continued. Bravo, mustachioed sailors of the past, Bravo.

I was thinking about the deliberate positioning of the cars at the opener and how they enabled a purposeful transition of conversation where movement marked a change in topic, while still providing glimpses of the previous car at the edges of the frame, which created a seamless layout to progress through the discussion. Very cool the way the did it!

Wow! This new style of unscripted video and posting it on a Sunday afternoon is genius! With the GoPro’s in sight, a bit of behind the scene footage, a bit of speeding, a bit of swearing and a lot of genuine car guy talk, what else can a car guy want? I felt like I spent 45 minutes of my Sunday with two good friends that I never met, in their cars that I never drove or even saw! If you start doing one of those every two or three months, I think your car collection could get even bigger! 😏😂 That said, I still think the best thing that can happen to a car guy on a weekday morning is a “proper” Throttle House video popping up on YT! Your perfect scripts, perfect shots, perfect sound and perfect editing are just the best recipe to start a workday! You guys are nailing it right now!

Its bouncey and I love it!

I love this video. You both had so much enthusiasm for your cars and love to share your stories. We see the passion in you and it brings it out in us. You made us appreciate and like every car, even with each one's idiosyncrasies. You take us back in time and remind us why we fell in love with automobiles.
James, I have a 2023 miata too and I installed the zeta...perfect height and handling is so much better. Before I was thinking about sway bars. However, after this suspension installed (plus flying miata recommended alignment spec) there is absolutely no need for sway bars. Installation was quite easy too and service support is above and beyond.
Just watching this now and loving the Alfa 🇮🇹👏🏼 Brings back memories from decades ago, when two friends owned a TR6 and a Fiat 124. Love simple cars from that era.
It's so nice y'all did this. It really felt like I went along on this journey of ownership with you guys. A joy ride with friends sharing toys, loved every second of it. Can't wait to see the next Throttle House Special!
What a great enthusiast collection of cars! Thank you, Thomas and James for showing us your garage. Cant wait to see your next road trip and road trip cars!
Seeing "schnitz" makes me reminisce about my '83 GTI that looked exactly the same. I bought it in the early '90s ($800 USD) and drove the heck out of it for about 5 years. I had to sell it because VW parts were a PITA to find or afford. It is great to see Thomas keeping one alive and "well."
A stock 1st series GTI is rare even in Germany. Thomas does well keeping it and not changing a thing. Btw, when I was around 19-20 I really enjoyed the short period when my mom had this GTI's little brother, a non-GTI golf with a sun roof and 75PS(hp)... this thing needed an oil top-up every 50km or so, but... open the sun roof and hit the road... I loved this rusty Golf so much!
I love the unscripted and off-the-cuff banter and conversations you guys have. Love it
I think its because Thomas always seems to know what he's talking about, and James often says the most wrong thing in response.

The controversy surrounding the use of the term "jack" when describing the Union Flag was handled *best* by the Royal Navy, who used "Jack", who were determined to continue using "Jack", and who made it official in 1902 that "Jack" is what they'll use, while petty arguments about what to call a flag in the House of Lords continued. Bravo, mustachioed sailors of the past, Bravo.
The only reason I came to the comments section
40:12 Give it some POKE! That's pretty much the only way to make this thing look better!
Y’all have inspired me to pursue a career of passion and belief in myself, you guys are serious role models to so many creators out there. Your constant improvement and hard work is only evident if you go looking, on the surface you guys are a professional film crew!
I was thinking about the deliberate positioning of the cars at the opener and how they enabled a purposeful transition of conversation where movement marked a change in topic, while still providing glimpses of the previous car at the edges of the frame, which created a seamless layout to progress through the discussion. Very cool the way the did it!
I love watching y'alls car reviews. BUT!!! This has got to be one of my favorite videos. Just boys being boys, showing off their toys and getting excited about the other guy's toys. Never change.
That red Alfa Romeo is a piece of art.
"I play 'oooom-bob' as I drive this"... this is exhibit A of why this is such a great channel.
This video is fantastic, love the less edited, more raw, videos with you two. ❤
Having sponsors is a game changer . I am so happy your channel took right off !!!!!
Love your guy's content! Keep it up! Also could you please do a ferrari california vs california t video? Would love to see a comparison between the two with your input! Thank you all for everything! God Bless you and the production team!
I've been a subscriber since the early e46 days (I have one myself, currently dead in my driveway, plus a NB1 Miata) when Thomas was soloing it in front of the camera. I love how far they've come, and it was great to see the e46 again. My fav YT car channel by far
17:10 that part was hilarious, "thread the needle, thread the needle!" 😂
Getting all of my dad's cars and my cars together in one place for a photoshoot for his birthday last year makes me appreciate the time invested to setting this up.. cheers to my favorite car review channel
You said the comments would light about the Union Jack/Flag name but James, I’m here to tell you yours is flying upside down. Seriously. This was so ground into me as a kid I can’t stop myself looking for it. Sorry.
Real men drive MANUALS!
I felt joy flowing noticing they are manual transmissions
Am a happy soul 😊

And you can't beat the combination of some great induction noise as you row through the gears. Was watching this part as I read your comment.
this channel is literally a gem
What about the emira?
I thought James ordered a Lotus quite a while back... Did I miss something?
We love what we love! God bless you guys!
😢I thought I was watching ExtraThrottle House😂
Man every single car has their own wonderful character! Man that Century was just pure CLASS. What a GREAT purchase!
James buying a Toyota Century instead of EV is one of the most hilarious things ever 😂
Yup! 😅
I have a 1985 celica GTS manual, and i do adore that 80s feel lol seeing you so happy in Toe Foo reminds me of my old Celica, need it running once more
I love that just about every car you have is standard. Often disappointed in some car channels personal car selection’s especially the transmissions but you guys……. Youuuuuuuuu guys get what driving it truly about
The big question is, how have you justified these purchases to your wives?
Preach
They are their wives 😂
I love that miata! That color combo is *chef's kiss*
I smile from start to finish it is just so genuine you can feel it through the video.
This was such a great video to really see you two interact, appreciate, and give a window into why you each love the cars you do - and what it is you each look for that fits your preferences as drivers. Your dynamic is awesome, and I absolutely love this channel and these videos. Grateful for as long as you guys keep it up.
I would watch 45 minutes of pretty much anything you guys felt like doing, every time!
Thomas driving of Toefoo is mesmerizing, truly goes to show you how good of a driver he is, those downshift @36:15 were masterful!
I'm mildly surprised there was no mention of the Lotus Emira. Any news on that, or did its production get delayed?
The transition (esp audio) from the Alfa Spider to Miata drive was so smooth I had to skip back a few times to admire it
I’ve had my 97 century for a month or so now and it is amazing
James, as the owner of a 2020 MX-5 in Soul Red Crystal, I couldn't agree with you more. It is one of the loveliest reds I have ever seen.
I LOVE THE MESSING AROUND THESE GUYS WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER!
This content is so good. Just guys showing how much they love their cars. Wholesome stuff
As a '93 3sge mr2 owner that just swapped a fresh '99 3sge(coupled with an lsd diff!), I absolutely love the induction sound of that engine! Yes it's a bit underpowered for the 2nd gen MR2 but dear lord do they sound good even in the earlier revisions! NA all the way if you ask me, 3sge is an absolute gem of an engine!
You guys are the coolest car enthusiast duo ever. This video reminds me of Extra Throttle House with just a bit more production value, and yet your conversations and off the cuff humor feels so natural and fun to watch. Keep it up!!
Great vid
The personality uozing out is just amazing
The class and taste of this channel is second to none.
“What’s the weight?”
I don’t know, it’s just right.
That really feels so good. My rsx type s weighs under 3000 lbs, and it has more than stock power, but I don’t know how much. Love it! Just can’t wait to get all the little stuff fixed(steering slider install, dents and paint chips fixed, alignment and less oil leaks)
Love you Guys
Was hoping to catch you at the
Toronto Autoshow but cant make the friday 😭
You guys have come so far since I first came across you. The production of your work is above the big boys.
keep it up guys.
You are Throttle House
It is nice to see the two of you review these cars of different power and handling levels and can appreciate them for what they can do. Spaghetti reminds me of my SH Forester X. Handles like a racecar with full aftermarket STi suspension components and coilovers but is soooooo slow. Takes forever to get to redline in each gear. It is my daily. Its loud. Its bouncey and I love it!
Loved this show. We all have cars we’ve owned that we loved and wished we still had; I loved seeing what you guys have and why you love them. And our car loves are never perfect, sometimes the imperfections are what make them so wonderfully memorable to us!
I didn’t know I needed this video until watching it. Incredible video guys!
Such a great video!! I'm disappointed that you haven't driven each other's vehicles but so happy I got to watch the first time.
That Alfa weighs the same as some of the ND Miatas. More than an NA. Not by a ton but all are around the same weight.
I'm SO GLAD y'all actually kept schnitz and ToeFoo.
