💜🌹🐻 Mirriam's letter is such a great example of eloquence & grace. Power, strength, healing & love to all of the survivors, especially "the gems" & everyone who supports them. 🧡

Once I was talking with a woman whose sister-in-law had utterly betrayed the family. She held on to her anger for many years.
I asked her “Do you want to give this person any more of your life energy? Our cells only have so much time and so many cycles on the planet…why do you want to give her that power over you? Hate takes up a lot of energy.” In that moment she released the emotion of hate towards her and they actually have a good relationship now. Which is good ‘cause eventually there will be grand babies and the littles won’t be wondering what the undercurrent of ick is during extended family celebrations.

Sometimes forgiveness is just stitching up the hole within that your trauma has caused. Have you read The Shack? That book is what gave me the idea of just healing yourself as a form of forgiveness. It was a rough book to get through but it was an interesting read for sure.

I have forgiven some heinous acts against me and others. There is nothing I bestow or 'give' to the perpetrators, their transgression and future offenses have NO bearing on my feeling about holding a grudge. It's not a grudge, it's data. I have learned to accept the information as it presents.

I have huge compassion for all children hurt by Scientology. Also Emily will definitely lose both her parents and her sister if she speaks out. Chances are though that she probably rarely sees them all anyway. She has a partner and friends that aren’t Scientologists. Guess she has to weigh up priorities. I think I’d let go of my family, hoping that they’d see the light eventually.
