I must admit, I was unaware that there were lute composers that late into the 18th century. Sounds closer to classical period music than the lute works of Bach or Weiss. Splendid!

A tricky piece - so heavily ornamented that it is difficult to keep the sails from tipping over and carrying the whole ship down. On the other hand, it is a fascinating piece, it full of the most delightful declamations, which, most probably is why you have invested your time into it. All this mid 18th century Germanick stuff (Hagen Falckenhagen, and Kohaut) is much overlookt, though, as it is a treasure, I do not know why.

It's very hard to make your investment back on a lute cd that doesn't have Bach or Dowland in the title. Sigh.
